di questa sua macchina le riservi grandi soddisfa-
zioni e risponda appieno alle aspettative. Questo
manuale èstato redatto per consentirle di cono-
scere bene la sua macchina e di usarla in condizio-
ni di sicurezza ed efficienza; non dimentichi che
esso èparte integrante della macchina stessa, lo
tenga a portata di mano per consultarlo in ogni mo-
mento e lo consegni assieme alla macchina il gior-
no in cui dovesse cederla o prestarla ad altri. Que-
sta sua nuova macchina èstata progettata e co-
struita secondo le normative vigenti, risulta sicura
ed affidabile se usata nel pieno rispetto delle indi-
cazioni contenute in questo manuale (uso previsto);
qualsiasi altro impiego o l’inosservanza delle norme
di sicurezza d’uso, di manutenzione e riparazione
indicate èconsiderato come “uso improprio”e
comporta il decadimento della garanzia e il declino
di ogni responsabilitàdel Costruttore, riversando

I seguenti simboli vengono utilizzati nel presente
manuale o sono riportati sulla macchina. Prima di
procedere nella lettura ènecessario apprenderne il
significato.
Indica pericolo di infortunio, pericolo di
morte o danno all'apparecchio qualora non
ci si attenga alle istruzioni contenute nel
seguente manuale.
Prima di usare questa macchina leggere il
libretto istruzioni.
Usare sempre il casco di protezione, cuffie
antirumore, occhiali o visiera protettiva.
Pericolo di proiezioni! Durante il funzionamento del-
l'apparecchio nessuno deve trovarsi entro un raggio
di 15 metri.
Tenere a distanza i non addetti ai lavori.
Non esporre alla pioggia.
Indossare stivali o scarpe anti-infortunio con suola
antislittamento e guanti.
Non impiegare lame di sega circolare.
La macchina è dotata di doppio isolamento
(Classe II) che evita la necessità del collega-
mento a terra.
Indicazione del livello di potenza sonora
LWA secondo la direttiva 2000/14/CE.
In caso di cavo danneggiato disinserire la
spina dalla rete prima di procedere ad un
controllo.
Gli apparecchi elettrici dismessi sono mate-
riali riciclabili, perciò non vanno gettati nei
rifiuti domestici.
4. NORME DI SICUREZZA GENERALI
Leggere attentamente le istruzioni.
Familiarizzarsi con l'uso dei comandi e con

Non permettere l'uso dell’apparecchio ai
bambini e persone che non siano comple-
tamente a conoscenza delle presenti istru-
zioni.
Durante il funzionamento dell'apparecchio
nessuno deve trovarsi entro un raggio di 15
metri.
Prima di avviare l'apparecchio verificare che il
filo, o la lama di taglio, non siano a contatto
con rami, pietre, ecc.
Utilizzare l'apparecchio solo di giorno oppure
in condizioni di buona illuminazione artificia-
le.
Tenere in debita considerazione i rischi di feri-
te alla testa, alle mani ed ai piedi.
Tenere presente che il proprietario o
l'utilizzatore è responsabile degli incidenti o
dei rischi incorsi da terzi o dai loro beni.
Quando si lavora con il tagliaerba, indossare
scarpe solide, con suole antiscivolo ed indu-
menti protettivi appropriati.
Durante l'utilizzo dell'apparecchio, impiegare
i dispositivi di protezione in corredo.
Non utilizzare l’apparecchio quando si èscal-
zi o in sandali. Non utilizzare l’apparecchio se
si èvestiti con abiti ampi che potrebbero im-
pigliarsi. Durante il lavoro èobbligatorio in-
dossare pantaloni lunghi, stivali o scarpe
anti-infortunistiche con suole anti-
slittamento, occhiali e una visiera di protezio-
ne contro le proiezioni, guanti (preferibilmen-
te di cuoio) e cuffie o casco antirumore. In
ambienti di lavoro in cui sia presente il rischio
di caduta oggetti, proteggere la testa con un
casco anti-infortunistico.
Prima di cominciare a lavorare, l'impugnatura
deve essere adattata alla statura dell'utente.
Non sopravvalutare le proprie forze. Lavoran-
do, assicurarsi di avere appoggi stabili.
Gli interventi di manutenzione e riparazione,
cosìcome la sostituzione del filo o dei dispo-
sitivi di protezione, devono sempre essere
effettuati a motore spento con cavo
scollegato dalla presa principale.
Controllare frequentemente lo stato dell'ap-
parecchiatura. Qualsiasi componente dan-
neggiato deve essere immediatamente sosti-
tuito. Durante tali interventi adottare ogni ne-
cessaria misura precauzionale.
Utilizzare unicamente pezzi di ricambio origi-
nali.
Prima di utilizzare l'apparecchio installare cor-
rettamente tutte le protezioni.
Attenzione! Pericolo! La testa a fili o la lama
continua a girare per qualche istante, dopo il
rilascio dell’interriuttore.
Verificare che nell'apparecchio non sia rima-
sta impigliata dell'erba o altri corpi estranei.
Tenere sempre il cavo di alimentazione e le
prolunghe distanti dall'utensile.
Spegnere il motore e scollegare la presa prin-
cipale prima di pulire o regolare l'apparecchio

Scollegare sempre l’apparecchio dalla presa
quando lo si lascia incustodito.
Verificare regolarmente i cavi allo scopo di
individuare eventuali danni o usura. Prima
dell’uso, controllare che il cavo e la prolunga
non siano danneggiati o usurati. Se il cavo
viene danneggiato durante l’uso non toccar-
lo e disconnetterlo immediatamente dall’ali-
mentazione.
Utilizzare l'utensile solo se i cavi sono in per-
fette condizioni.
La pulizia dell'apparecchio e la regolazione
della testa a fili devono essere eseguite sola-
mente a motore spento e con la spina
disinserita. Assicurarsi che le feritoie di venti-
lazione siano mantenute pulite e libere .
Cavi elettrici - assicuratevi che il cavo di pro-
lunga sia in buone condizioni e che sia adat-
to alla potenza assorbita dall'apparecchio. Un
cavo sottodimensionato puòcausare caduta
di tensione e surriscaldamento. La tabella
illustra la corretta sezione del cavo da usare
in relazione alla lunghezza. Nel dubbio, usare
un cavo di sezione maggiore.
Accendere l’apparecchio solo quando mani e
piedi siano lontani dagli organi di taglio.
La manutenzione e il controllo dell’apparec-
chio devono essere eseguite regolarmente; le
riparazioni devono essere effettuate solo da
un riparatore autorizzato.
Non montare lame costituite da piùpezzi,
ma solo lame monolitiche.
Non montare lame a sega.
Non montare lame di diametro superiore a
230 mm.
Prendere precauzioni contro i rischi di lesioni
dovute al dispositivo di taglio che regola la
lunghezza del filo.
Riporre l’utensile inutilizzato. Quando non lo
si usa, l’utensile dovrebbe essere riposto in
un luogo asciutto e in posizione elevata e
chiusa, fuori dalla portata dei bambini.
Spegnere il motore quando si trasporta la
macchina.
Coprire i denti della lama con la protezione
lama, quando si trasporta la macchina per
lunghe distanze.
Per ragioni di sicurezza l'utensile deve essere
collegato ad una presa di elettricitàprotetta
da un interruttore differenziale con una cor-
rente max di 30 mA.
Non impugnare mai l’utensile sopra le anche;
non sollevare mai una macchina ancora in
rotazione.

Controllare l’area di lavoro, prima di comin-

Posizionare la leva di sicurezza sul tubo (A),
con la leva rivolta verso sinistra (vista dalla
posizione dell’utilizzatore).
Inserire i dadi M5 (B) nelle proprie sedi della
leva di sicurezza.
Accoppiare l’impugnatura (C) con la leva si-
curezza, mantenendo la parte inclinata del-
l’impugnatura rivolta verso il motore.
Posizionare le rondelle (D) e puntare le viti
M5x35 (E).
Far scivolare l'impugnatura lungo l'asta, fino
a raggiungere la posizione adatta in funzione
dell’altezza dell’utilizzatore.
Serrare le viti con l’apposita chiave in dota-
zione.

Inserire entrambi i dadi quadri M5 (A) nelle
apposite sedi della parte inferiore della prote-
zione (B).
Posizionare il ponticello di fissaggio(D) sulla
scatola ingranaggi (C) così, che la vite della
scatola ingranaggi alloggi nel foro centrale.
Accoppiare la protezione al ponticello di fis-
saggio.
Puntare le viti M5x20 (E).
Serrare le viti con l’apposita chiave in dota-
zione.

ATTENZIONE: Quando si utilizza l’apparecchio con la
testina a filo, la protezione (C) deve essere sempre
completa dell’estensione protezione (B), alla quale è
fissata la lama taglia-filo!
PRECAUZIONE: Eseguite l’operazione stando attenti
a non urtare inavvertitamente il lamierino taglia-filo:
c’è il rischio di provocarsi ferite!

Allineare il pulsante di sgancio (A) con l'inse-
natura della guida (B) per facilitare l'installa-
zione.
Tenendo saldamente l'assieme di taglio
giuntabile, spingerlo all'interno del morsetto
d’accoppiamento, fino a far accoppiare il pul-
sante di sblocco (A) col foro del morsetto (C).
Chiudere il pomolo (D) (filettatura destra). As-
sicurarsi che sia ben stretto prima di utilizzare
l'unità.
Per lo smontaggio dell’assieme di taglio, procedere
il maniera opposta:
Aprire il pomolo (D) (filettatura destra).
Tenere schiacciato con un dito il pulsante di
sblocco (A).
Sfilare dal giunto l’assieme di taglio.
7. PREPARAZIONE
ABBIGLIAMENTO
Non utilizzare l’apparecchio quando si èscalzi o in
sandali. Non utilizzare l’apparecchio se si èvestiti
con abiti ampi che potrebbero impigliarsi. Durante il
lavoro èobbligatorio indossare pantaloni lunghi,
stivali o scarpe anti-infortunistiche con suole anti-
slittamento, occhiali e una visiera di protezione
contro le proiezioni, guanti (preferibilmente di cuoio)
e cuffie o casco antirumore. In ambienti di lavoro in
cui sia presente il rischio di caduta oggetti, proteg-
gere la testa con un casco anti-infortunistico.

Prima di effettuare i collegamenti, verificare che la
tensione e la frequenza di rete siano compatibili
con la tensione e la frequenza di funzionamento
della macchina (vedere etichetta dati). La macchina
deve essere collegata ad una presa elettrica muni-
ta di interruttore differenziale (salvavita) con un
cavo di alimentazione omologato per l’uso all’aper-
to. Fissare sempre la prolunga (A) sul ferma cavo
ricavato nel corpo motore.

la cinghia adattandola alla vostra corporatura. Ag-
ganciate il moschettone della bretella (B) nell’appo-
sito foro (A) situato sul corpo motore.

manualmente la testina a filo.

Avvitare la vite M10 x 1,5 (F) (filettatura sini-
stra) con l’apposita chiave in dotazione.
Per ottenere una corretta chiusura, infilare la chia-
ve esagonale in dotazione nel foro della campana
fino a bloccare la rotazione della lama e serrare
con l’apposita chiave.
8. USO
CAMPO DI APPLICAZIONE
Il decespugliatore fornito di testina a fili puòessere
utilizzato esclusivamente per il taglio del prato -
particolarmente in presenza di ostacoli - e per il
taglio a raso terra di sterpaglie e sterpi di piccolo
taglio. La testina a fili èparticolarmente indicata
per un taglio pulito intorno a pali e alberi. Il dece-
spugliatore fornito di lama tagliaerba puòessere
utilizzato esclusivamente per il taglio del prato in
assenza di ostacoli e per il taglio a raso terra di
sterpi e rovi.
ATTENZIONE: Il decespugliatore nella dotazione
standard non può essere utilizzato in altri modi.
REGOLAZIONE DELLA LUNGHEZZA DEL FILO DI NYLON
La lunghezza del filo della testina a filo in dotazione
deve essere controllata prima di ogni utilizzo. La
testina in dotazione ha un sistema di regolazione
della lunghezza del filo semi-automatico. Quando il
filo ècorto, avviare la macchina e picchiare alcune
volte la testina a filo su un suolo soffice. Il filo
fuoriesce automaticamente. La lunghezza eccessi-
va del filo viene tagliata dalla lametta di regolazio-
ne, montata sulla protezione.
CONSIGLI PER L’USO

Osservare le norme di sicurezza quando usa-
te il decespugliatore.
Sostenere il vostro utensile dal lato destro.
Avvicinarsi all’area che deve essere pulita con
il motore spento; poi accendere il motore pri-
ma di inserire l’elemento di taglio nell’area di
lavoro.
Col vostro pollice, inizialmente schiacciare il
bottone di blocco (1) e poi in aggiunta col
dito indice schiacciare il pulsante dell’interrut-
tore ACCESO/SPENTO (2). Successivamente
rilasciare il bottone di blocco. Rilasciare il pul-
sante di ACCESO/SPENTO per fermare il mo-
tore.
Il senso di rotazione dell’elemento di taglio
rende le operazioni di taglio sul lato sinistro
del dispositivo (dal punto di vista dell’opera-
tore, con il decespugliatore impugnato cor-
rettamente ) particolarmente libere da colpi.
Quindi sempre affrontare l’area che deve es-
sere tagliata da destra.
Questo fa venire in contatto il lato sinistro del
dispositivo di taglio con il materiale che deve
essere refilato prima. Particolarmente quando
si taglia erba piùtenace(come erbacce di
pezzatura media e vegetazioni selvatiche),
con la lama, assicurarsi di non infilare la parte
anteriore del decespugliatore nella vegetazio-
ne da tagliare.
Procedere con un'andatura regolare con un
movimento da lato a lato simile alla falce tra-
dizionale. Non inclinare la testina a fili durante
l'operazione. Provare a tagliare alla giusta al-
tezza in una piccola area. Mantenere la
testina a fili ad una distanza dal terreno co-
stante per ottenere un'altezza di taglio unifor-
me.
Rilasciare immediatamente l’interruttore, se si
nota una vibrazione inusuale o se il materiale
tagliato si aggroviglia intorno al dispositivo di
taglio o si blocca nella protezione.
Disconnettere la spina di alimentazione dalla
sua presa e pulire l’utensile di taglio da erba e
arbusti etc.
Controllare che l’utensile sia in perfette con-
dizioni.
Quando si usa la testina a filo, assicurarsi
sempre di lavorare con la corretta lunghezza
del filo. Quando la protezione èmontata, il
filo verràautomaticamente tagliato alla lun-
ghezza ammissibile (una lametta per regolare
la lunghezza fili èassiemata sull’estensione
protezione).

Quindi, quando lavorate con la testina a filo,
l’estensione protezione deve essere sempre
montata insieme alla lametta di regolazione.
9. MANUTENZIONE EPULIZIA
MONTAGGIO DI UN NUOVO FILO DI TAGLIO
Il filo di taglio puòessere sostituito in due modi
differenti: arrotolando un nuovo filo sulla bobina
esistente oppure installando una nuova bobina
completa.
Utilizzazione della bobina esistente
Per utilizzare una bobina esistente si deve:
Verificare il tipo di filo da impiegare.
Smontare la bobina interna e la molla.
Arrotolare il nuovo filo di taglio sulla bobina.
Rimontare la bobina interna e la molla.
Filo di taglio da utilizzare
Usare una bobina con doppio filo di taglio a sezione
quadrata e ritorto, delle stesse dimensioni del filo
in dotazione.

Svitare in senso orario il controdado di bloc-
caggio della bobina (A).
Smontare la bobina interna (B).
Pulire l'interno della bobina per mezzo di uno
straccio pulito (C).
Verificare il grado di usura dei denti (D). Se
necessario sostituire le bobine.
Arrotolamento del filo

Inserire le estremitàdel filo nuovo nei fori del-
la bobina interna (A).
Fare un'asola in modo da ottenere due
spezzoni di pari lunghezza prima di inserire il
filo nei fori della bobina.
Arrotolare il filo attorno alla bobina disponen-
do le spire nel senso indicato, in modo rego-
lare ed a stretto contatto reciproco (B).
Mettere le estremitàdel filo nell'intaglio (C).

Afferrare le estremitàe tirare decisamente per
estrarre il filo dall'intaglio della bobina.
Riavvitare in senso antiorario il controdado di

MONTAGGIO DI UNA NUOVA BOBINA
Procedere come per la bobina esistente per quanto
concerne:
Filo di taglio da impiegare;
Smontaggio della bobina esistente;
Rimontaggio della bobina.
PULIZIA
Prima di pulire spegnere sempre il motore e
disconnettere la spina di alimentazione.
Non lavare mai l’utensile.
Pulire I taglienti del dispositivo di taglio con
una spazzola manuale.
Usare solo un panno asciutto o leggermente
umido per pulire l’intera macchina. Non usa-
re solventi o agenti di pulizia abrasivi. Prima
di collegarsi di nuovo alla rete, il corpo moto-
re e le parti interne non devono essere anco-
ra umide.
ARRESTO ECONSERVAZIONE
Quando la macchina non viene utilizzata per un
lungo periodo, eseguire le operazioni qui riportate
allo scopo di conservarla nel migliore dei modi e di
avere poi una facile ed efficiente ripresa del lavoro.
Pulire la macchina con un panno umido o
una spazzola morbida.
Riposizionarla poi nel suo cartone originale.
ATTENZIONE: Non lavare mai la macchina. Conser-
vare fuori dalla portata dei bambini.

4. GENERAL SAFETY NORMS
Read the instructions carefully. Become familiar
with the commands and the machine. Users
who ignore the safety, operating and mainte-
nance instructions are responsible for damage
and consequent losses.
Do not let children come into contact
with the tool. Keep all the people away
from the work area.
Keep all bystanders at least 15 m away from
the unit during operation.
Before starting, make sure that the cutting head
is not in contact with anything, such as a
branch, stone.
Use the unit only in daylight or good artificial
light.
Be aware of the risk of injury ta the head, hands
and feet.
When working with the unit, always wear sturdy,
rubber-soled footwear and body protection ap-
propriate to operation of the unit.
Bear in mind that the owner or user is responsi-
ble for accidents or risks involving other people
or their property.
When working with the unit, use the safety at-
tachments supplied.
Never use the appliance barefooted or wearing
sandals. Never use the appliance when wearing
loose clothing that could get caught up in it.
When working, wear long trousers, safety boots
or shoes with non-slip soles, goggles and a
shield protecting your face from flying objects,
gloves (preferably leather) and anti-noise ear
muffs or helmet. In work areas where there is a
risk of falling objects, protect your head with a
safety helmet.
Before starting, adjust the handle to your size.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and bal-
ance at all times.
Maintenance and repair operations, as well as
replacement of the cord or safety devices, must
always be performed with the motor switched
off and the power cable disconnected from the
socket.
Frequently inspect the condition of the cutting
head, All damaged parts must immediately be
replaced.
Follow all the required precautions when under-
taking replacement.
Use only replacement parts recommended by
the manufacturer.
All guards must be installed properly before op-
erating the unit.
Attention ! Danger! The cord head or the continu-
ous blade continues to rotate for a few mo-
ments after the switch is released.
Keep unit clean of vegetation and other materi-
als.
Keep connecting wires away from the tools.
Turn off the unit and pull the main plug before
set-up or cleaning of the unit, and before testing
for tangled or damaged wires.
Always disconnect the appliance from the
socket when leaving it unattended.
Regularly check the cables for damage or wear.
Before use, make sure that the cable and ex-
tension cable are not damaged or worn. If the
cable is damaged during use, do not touch it but
disconnect it from the power supply immedi-
ately.
The unit must not be used if the connecting
wires are not in perfect condition.

The appliance may only be cleaned and the cord
head adjusted with the motor switched off and
the plug disconnected from the power supply.
Make sure the ventilation slots are kept clean
and unobstructed.
Cord Sets - Make sure your cord set is in good
condition. When using a cord set, be sure to use
a cord that is heavy enough to carry the current
that your unit wilI draw. An undersized cord set
will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in
power and overheating. The table (below) shows
the correct size to use depending on the cord
length and nameplate amperage rating. If in
doubt, use the next heavier size Iine gauge. The
smaller the gauge number, the heavier the cord.
Only switch on the appliance if your hands and
feet are well away from the cutting area.
The appliance must be checked and serviced
regularly; repairs may only be made by an au-
thorised repairman.
Do not mount blades comprising several pieces.
Only one-piece blades may be used.
Do not mount saw blades.
Do not mount blades with a diameter of more
than 230 mm.
Take precautions against the risk of injury from
the cutting device which adjusts the length of
the cord.
Put unused tools away. When not in use, store
the tool high up in a dry closed room, out of
reach of children.
Switch the motor off when transporting the ma-
chine.
Cover the teeth of the blade with the blade
guard when transporting the machine over long
distances.
For reasons of safety, connect the tool to a
power socket protected by a differential switch
with a max. current of 30 mA.
Never grip the tool above your hips; never lift a
machine while the blade is still turning.
Check the work area before starting work; re-
move any stones, broken glass, nails, wires and
other solid objects that may be caught and
ejected by the cutting device.

6. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
MOUNTING THE GRIP

Position the safety lever on the tube (A), with
the lever facing left (as seen by the user).
Fit the M5 nuts (B) into the safety lever.
Attach the grip (C) to the safety lever, keeping
the inclined part of the grip facing the motor.
Fit the washers (D) and push in the M5x35
screws (E).
Slide the grip along the rod until it reaches a
comfortable height.
Tighten the screws with the supplied wrench.
MOUNTING THE GUARD

Fit the two square M5 nuts (A) into the relative
holes in the lower part of the guard (B).
Position the connector (D) on the gear box (C) so
that the screw of the gear box lies in the central
hole.
Attach the guard to the connector.
Fit the M5x20 screws (E).
Tighten the screws with the supplied wrench.

tached!
WARNING: Perform the above operation taking care
not to knock the cord cutter as this may cause inju-
ries!

Align the release button (A) with the hole in the
guide (B) to simplify installation.
Hold the dismountable cutting assembly firmly
and push it into the clamp until the release but-
ton (A) enters the hole in the clamp (C).
Tighten the knob (D) (right-hand thread). Make
sure it is perfectly tight before using the unit.
To dismount the cutting assembly, proceed in re-
verse order:
Loosen the knob (D) (right-hand thread).
Press down on the release button (A).
Slide the cutting assembly off the clamp.
7. PREPARATION
CLOTHING
Never use the appliance barefooted or wearing
sandals. Never use the appliance when wearing
loose clothing that could get caught up in it. When
working, wear long trousers, safety boots or shoes
with non-slip soles, goggles and a shield protecting
your face from flying objects, gloves (preferably
leather) and anti-noise ear muffs or helmet. In work
areas where there is a risk of falling objects, pro-
tect your head with a safety helmet.

Before connecting the appliance to the electricity
supply, check that the mains voltage and fre-
quency are compatible with the operating voltage
and frequency of the machine (see rating plate).
Connect the machine to a socket with differential
switch (circuit breaker) using an approved outdoor
cable. Always fix the extension cable (A) to the
cable holder located on the motor casing.
ATTENTION: To protect the electrical connection, do
not tug on the cable when using the appliance and
grip the plug and socket when disconnecting the ca-
ble.
USING THE SUPPORT BELT

This machine has been designed for use on the
user's right-hand side. Fit the shoulder strap so
that it lies on your left-hand shoulder. For en-
hanced efficiency and safety, adjust the strap to
your body. Attach the clip of the strap (B) to the
relative hole (A) in the motor casing.

Attach the canopy (A) to the aluminium head (B),
taking care to align the hole in the canopy with
the arrow on the head.
Tighten the M5x10 screws (C) using the supplied
hex wrench.

Attach the safety flange (A) to the head shaft.
Tighten (left-hand thread) the cord head (B).
To lock the component correctly, insert the sup-
plied hex wrench into the hole in the canopy until
the head stops turning and tighten the cord head
by hand.

Attach the aluminium safety flange (B) to the
head shaft.
Attach the blade (C) to the aluminium flange (B).
Attach the counter-flange (B) to the groove in
the head shaft (A).
Position the funnel-shaped guard (E).
Tighten the screw M10 x 1.5 (F) (left-hand
thread) using the supplied wrench.
To lock the component correctly, insert the sup-
plied hex wrench into the hole in the canopy until
the blade stops turning and tighten with the relative
wrench.

8. USE
SCOPE
The brush cutter fitted with a cord head can only
be used to cut lawns - especially in the presence
of obstacles - and cut brushwood and scrub to the
ground. The cord head is particularly suitable for
trimming around posts and trees. The brush cutter
fitted with a grass cutter blade may only be used
to cut lawns without obstacles and cut scrub and
bramble to the ground.
ATTENTION: The standard version of the brush cutter
cannot be used in other ways.
ADJUSTING THE LENGTH OF THE NYLON CORD
Always check the length of the cord in the supplied
head before use. This head features a semi-auto-
matic system for adjusting cord length. When the
cord is short, start the machine and hit the cord
head on soft ground a few times. The cord comes
out automatically. Excessive cord length is cut by
the adjustment blade mounted on the guard.

Observe the relevant safety instructions when
using the brushcutter.
Carry the power tool on your r.h. side.
Approach the area to be cleared with the motor
switched OFF; then start the motor before dip-
ping the cutter into the working area.
With your thumb, initially press the locking but-
ton (1) and then additionally the ON/OFF switch
(2) with your index finger. Then release the lock-
ing button again. Release the ON/OFF switch to
switch the motor OFF again.
The rotational direction of the cutting tool makes
the operation on the l.h. side of the cutting tool
(from the operator's viewpoint, subject to the
brushcutter being held correctly) particularly free
from kicking. Therefore, always approach the
area to be cut from the right.
This brings the l.h. side of the cutting tool into
contact with the material to be trimmed first.
Particularly when cutting tougher growth (such
as medium sized weeds and wild growth) with a
grass cutter blade, ensure that you do not
"stab" the front of the brushcutter into the ma-
terial to be trimmed.
Work at a regular pace and move from side to
side as though you were using a traditional
scythe. Do not incline the cord head while work-
ing. Try and cut a small area to the right height.
Keep the cord head at the same distance from
the ground in order to obtain a uniform cutting
height.
Immediately switch OFF the motor, if you notice
any unusual vibrations or cuttings have wrapped
themselves around the cutting tool or have
jammed near the guard. Pull the mains plug
from its socket and clear the cutting tool of
grass, brush etc.
Check the entire power tool for perfect condi-
tion.
When using the nylon head, always ensure that
you operate only with the correct length of line.
When the guard is fitted, the line will always be
trimmed to the permissible length automatically
(a line trimming blade is fitted into the guard
bar).
Therefore, when operating with the nylon head,
the guard bar must always be fitted, together
with the integral line trimming blade, to the
standard guard.
9. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
INSTALLING ANEW TRIMMING LINE
The trimming line may be replaced by two methods
- rewinding the existing reel or installing a
prewound reel.
Rewinding the existing reel
To rewind the existing reel you must:
Check for the correct line size.
Remove the inner reel and spring.
Wind the reel with the new line.
Reinstall the existing reel and spring.
Cutting cord
Use a reel with a double square twisted cutting
cord of the same dimensions as the cord supplied
with the appliance.

Unscrew the Bump Knob counterclockwise (A).
Remove the inner reel (B).
Use a clean cloth to clean the inside of the outer
spool (C).
Check the indexing teeth on the reel and spool
for wear (D). If necessary, replace the reel and
spool.
Winding the existing reel

Insert the ends of new trimming line into the in-
ner reel holes (A).
Loop the line into two equal lengths before in-
serting it into the holes.
Wind the line, in even and tight layers (B), onto
the reel, and in the direction indicated.
Push the ends of the line into the slots (C).

Insert the ends of the line through the eyelets in
the outer spool (A).
Grasp the ends and pull firmly to release the line
from the slots in the spool.
Install the Bump Knob clockwise (B).
Line installation is now complete.
INSTALLING APREWOUND REEL
Use the same instructions as the existing reel:
The correct line to use;
Removing the existing reel;
Reinstalling the reel.

CLEANING
Before cleaning, always switch off the motor
and disconnect the cable from the socket.
Never wash the machine.
Clean the cutting edges of the cutting device
with a brush.
Use just a dry or slightly damp cloth to clean the
rest of the machine. Do not use solvents or
abrasive cleaning agents. Before reconnecting
the appliance to the power supply, make sure
the motor casing and internal components are
not damp.
STOPPING AND STORAGE
If you do not plan to use the machine for a long
period, perform the following operations in order
to keep it in good condition and ensure you can
start working again later easily and efficiently.
Clean the machine with a damp cloth or a soft
brush.
Put it back in its original box.
ATTENTION: Never wash the machine. Keep it out of
reach of children.

doivent donc pas être jetés avec les
ordures ménagères.
4. MESURES DE SÉCURITÉGÉNÉRALES
Veuillez lire attentivement les instructions. Fami-
liarisez-vous avec l’usage des commandes et
avec celui de l’appareil. Les personnes qui
n'auront pas respectéles mesures de sécurité,
les instructions opérationnelles et d’entretien
seront responsables des préjudices et pertes
causés.
Ne permettez jamais aux personnes
étrangères au travail de toucher l’appa-
reil ou la rallonge. Tenez les enfants loin
du lieu de travail.
Les personnes présentés doivent se tenir éloi-
gnées de 15 m minimum de l’appareil en fonc-
tionnement.
Avant de d émarrer l’appareil, vérifier que la tête
de coupe n’est pas en contact avec un objet, tel
que branche, pierre, etc.
Utilisez l’appareil uniquement de jour ou avec un
bon éclairage artificiel.

Lorsque vous utilisez l’appareil, vous devez tou-
jours porter des chaussures solides avec des
semelles anti-dérapantes et un équipement de
protection corporelle approprié.
Lorsque vous travaillez avec l’appareil, utiliser
les dispositifs de protection fournis.
N’utilisez pas l’appareil pieds nus ou en sanda-
les. N’utilisez pas l’appareil si vous portez des
vêtements larges susceptibles de s’accrocher.
Pendant le travail, vous devez obligatoirement
des pantalons longs, des bottes ou des chaus-
sures de protection des accidents, des lunettes
et une visière de protection contre les projec-
tions, des gants (si possible en cuir) et un cas-

Avant de commencer àtravailler, réglez la poi-

Ne présumez pas de vos forces. Veillez àpren-

Les interventions d’entretien et de réparation,
ainsi que le changement de la tête de coupe et
l’enlèvement dss dispositifs de protection ne
doivent être effectués que lorsque le moteur est
àl’arrêt.
Contrôlez fréquemment l’état de la tête de
coupe. Toute pièce endom-magée doit être im-
médiatement remplacée. Suivez toutes les pré-
cautions nécessaires lors de ce remplacement.
N’utiliser que les pièces détachées recomman-
dées par Ie fabricant.
Vous devez installer correctement toutes les
protections avant d’utiliser I’appareil.
Attention! Danger! La tête àfils ou la lame conti-
nue àtourner quelques instants une fois l’inter-
rupteur désactivé.

Les interventions d’entretien et de réparation
ainsi que le remplacement du fil ou des disposi-
tifs de protection doivent toujours être effec-
tuées avec le moteur éteint et le câble débran-
chéde la prise principale.
Gardez toujours le cordon d’alimentation et les
rallonges àdistance des outils de coupe.
Éteignez l’appareil et débranchez la prise princi-
pal avant tout ajustage ou nettoyage.
Débranchez toujours l’appareil de la prise lors-
que vous le laissez sans surveillance.
Vérifiez àintervalles réguliers les câbles afin de
dépister les signes d’usure ou de dommage
éventuels. Avant l’usage, contrôlez si le câble et
la rallonge ne sont ni endommagés, ni usés. Si
le câble s’abîme pendant l’usage, ne le touchez
pas; débranchez immédiatement l’appareil du
secteur et débranchez immédiatement le câble
de l’alimentation.
L’appareil ne doit être utiliséque si les cordons
sont en parfaite condition.
Les opérations de nettoyage et de réglage de la
tête àfils ne doivent être exécutées que lorsque
le moteur est éteint et la fiche sortie de la prise.
Vérifiez si les fentes d’aération sont toujours
propres et libres de toute obstruction.
Prolongateurs: Assurez-vous qu’ils sont en bon
état et d’un calibre suffisant pour transporter le
courant nécessaire àl’appareil. Un cordon de
taille insuffisante provoquerait une baisse de
tension et une surchauffe. Le tableau ci-des-
sous indique la dimension correcte àutiliser en
fonction de la longueur du cordon et du nombre
d’ampères. En cas de doute, utilisez un cordon
d’un calibre supérieur. Plus le chiffre correspon-
dant au calibrage est petit, plus le cordon est
résistant.
N’allumez l’appareil que lorsque vos pieds et
vos mains sont éloignés des organes de coupe.
Les opérations d’entretien et de contrôle de
l’appareil doivent être effectuées régulièrement;
les réparations ne doivent être effectuées que
par un dépanneur autorisé.
Ne montez jamais de lames en plusieurs pièces;
ne montez que des lames monolithiques.
Ne montez jamais de lames de scie.
Ne montez jamais de lames ayant un diamètre
supérieur à230 mm.
Prenez les précautions nécessaires contre les
risques de blessures causées par le dispositif
de coupe, qui règle la longueur du fil.
Rangez l’outil lorsque vous ne l’utilisez pas.
Lorsque vous n’utilisez pas l’outil, rangez-le
dans un endroit sec, en hauteur et fermé, hors
de portée des enfants.
Eteignez le moteur lorsque vous transportez la
machine.
Couvrez les dents de la lame avec le protège
lame lorsque vous transportez la machine sur de
longues distances.
Par mesure de sécurité, l’outil doit être branché
sur une prise électrique àtravers un interrupteur
différentiel avec un courant maximum de 20
mA.
Ne tenez jamais l’appareil au-dessus des han-
ches; ne soulevez jamais une machine encore
en rotation.
