Charging Indicator - Indicates Charging Rate

LEDs represent the charg ng rate when us ng any of the methods of charg ng
below.

Each yellow
LED equals approx mately 20% charge rate. Th s w ll help you to pos t on a solar
panel n the best angle to the sun. If the Solarpod™ Pro 1000
s plugged nto a 1
or 12V - 24VDC power source, all 5 LEDs should be llum nated.
Battery Indicator - Indicates Battery Capacity Level

Solar Charging (recommended Sunbird Solar 120 Solar Panel)
1.
The Solarpod™ Pro 1000 has bu lt-
n battery protect on and does not requ re a solar charge
controller.
2.
Place the solar panel n d rect sun.
3.
Connect the solar charg ng cable ( ncluded) male p n t p to the DC IN port
on the
Pro 1000. Connect the MC4 (+) and (-) t ps to the solar panel.
4.
Adjust the solar panel so that t s d rectly fac ng the sun.

5.
To ensure full battery charge, cont nue charg ng for 1 add t onal hour.
6.
To max m ze battery cycle l fe, d sconnect when Solarpod™ Pro 1000
s fully charged.
AC all Charging (Adapter Included)
1.
Connect the male p n t p of the AC Wall Charger nto the DC IN port of the
Solarpod
and then plug the other end nto an electr cal outlet.
2.
The charg ng nd cator on the AC Wall Charger
w ll llum nate red when charg ng s n process
and green when the Solarpod™ Pro 1000 has reached a full charge.
3.
The yellow charg ng LED nd cators w ll also llum nate.
4.
To ensure full battery charge, cont nue charg ng for 1 add t onal hour after
1000 s fully charged.
5.
There s no need to d sconnect AC Wall Charger when charg ng s complete.
Connecting Charging Lines to the Solarpod™ Pro 1000

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Once charged, the Solarpod™ Pro 1000
s ready to use r ght out of the box. No set up s requ red.
All outputs may be used s multaneously. Check your dev ce’s spec f cat ons to make sure they are
compat ble w th the Solarpod™ Pro 1000.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
•Dust regularly w th a clean dry cloth to prevent dust and d rt from bu ld ng up on the
vents and power nputs/outputs. Store n a clean, dry place when not n use.
•Charge after each use, every 30-60 days, and before stor ng so t s ready to use when
needed.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If our Solarpod™ Pro 1000 fa ls to operate as spec f ed, follow these troubleshoot ng steps to
correct the ssue. If you st ll exper ence ssues, please contact your local d str butor or go to
www.sunb rd-solar.com/techn cal_support for onl ne techn cal support.
Charging Issues
•Ensure all cords are connected securely.
•Check power nd cators on chargers and the Solarpod™ Pro 1000 to ver fy they are
operat ng.
•If us ng a solar panel to charge, ensure t s correctly pos t oned n d rect sunl ght.
•Check that the fuses on the Solarpod™ Pro 1000 have not blown.
12V DC Output Fails
•Check the battery nd cator (blue LED str p) to see f the Solarpod™ Pro 1000 has
suff c ent battery charge ava lable. If not, follow the charg ng steps prev ously descr bed.
•Check to make sure that the 12V DC c rcu t protect on fuse s not blown by remov ng the
12A fuse hous ng cap. Inspect the fuse and replace f needed w th the same s ze fuse.
•Check the 12V DC output socket for obstruct ons or other v s ble damage.
•Ver fy the dev ce be ng charged s not damaged.
AC Output Fails
•Check the battery nd cator (blue LED str p) to see f the Solarpod™ Pro 1000 has
suff c ent battery charge ava lable. If not, follow the charg ng steps prev ously descr bed.
•Ensure the AC power button s on and the red l ght s on.
•Check to make sure that the AC c rcu t protect on fuse s not blown by remov ng the 6A-
6.3A or 8A fuse hous ng cap and then remov ng the 6A-6.3A or 8A fuse. Inspect the fuse
and replace f needed w th the same s ze fuse (See Sect on 8 for AC fuse reference chart).
•Check the AC output socket for obstruct ons or other v s ble damage.
•Ver fy the dev ce be ng charged s not damaged.
USB Output Fails
•Check the battery nd cator (blue LED str p) to see f the Solarpod™ Pro 1000 has
suff c ent battery charge ava lable. If not, follow the charg ng steps prev ously descr bed.
