Specifications
* Max Run Time based on fully charged batteries. Insufficient Sunshine hours may reduce run time.
** Built in charge controller prevents inefficient charging outside these parameters.
Introduction
• Solar powered lights do not work without sunlight. Please choose your location carefully in order that the
maximum amount of light falls onto the solar panels. In areas that are short of light or after continuous days
of rain, the Eclipse may only charge enough to provide courtesy lighting.
• The Eclipse incorporates a highly efficient Lithium-Ion battery. The functional charging temperature is
0-80ƹ. A built-in charge controller prevents charging when temperatures fall outside of these parameters.
The discharging temperature is -20 to +60ƹ.
• The Eclipse should be mounted with a clear sky above so that maximum sunlight can fall on the panel.
Should there be trees or building structures obstructing direct light, the performance will be reduced.
• The Eclipse Solar light is designed to work perfectly using the integral solar panel, provided that the panel is
orientated towards the sun.
• If your desired location restricts this, fix the extra panel using the brackets provided, plug the cable socket at
the rear of the light into the panel cable, and aim that panel directly towards maximum sunshine.
Alternatively, adding the extra panel and having both panels aimed at the sun, will reduce the time it takes
to fully recharge the batteries.

Installation
Parts Included with each Light Fitting:
1 x Eclipse All-in-One Light Fitting
1 x Wall / Pipe Bracket
1 x Mounting Kit
1 x Extra Solar Panel and Brackets
• It is important that the Eclipse light fitting is mounted on a pole or wall that places it in direct sunlight. The
recommended mounting height is 4-6 metres high and 6-9cm diameter and more than 2mm thick.
• Please open the package and ensure all of the parts are complete.
• Before installing the Eclipse, turn unit on and place the fitting on the ground with the solar panel facing down and
check to see that the unit illuminates to its low-light or courtesy light light level. Sweep your hand over the sensor
and check that the light increases its brightness to 100% power and stays on for a period of time (30-60 seconds)
before returning to courtesy light. Once satisfied proceed to install the fitting.
• The Eclipse is designed to be fitted directly onto poles of differing sizes or, using half of the bracket, directly onto
a wall. Use the supplied accessories for mounting.
• If the integral solar panel does not aim towards the normal sunlight arc, connect and mount the secondary solar
panel supplied. Aim that panel directly at the 10am sun location for optimum charging.
Battery Management System
The battery operation is digitally controlled by the built-in micro-processor and this programme ensures that as
the battery power is depleted, the fitting will still operate in an efficient manner. The following table demonstrates
how the battery will perform as the % of power reduces.

Cleaning the Solar Panel
Although no part of the Eclipse requires maintenance, routine cleaning of the solar panel will allow it to perform at
peak capacity. In winter, keep snow and ice from building up on the solar panel so the battery charges properly.
Light does not operate at night
If the Eclipse does not operate at dusk despite observing the instructions of
this manual, please try the following:
• Ensure the solar panel is not shaded or otherwise obstructed during the day.
• Ensure the ON/OFF switch has been activated (i.e. In the ‘ON’ position).

Lithium-ion Battery Warning
This product contains Lithium-ion batteries.
Lithium-ion cells and battery packs may get hot, explode or ignite and cause serious injury if exposed to extreme
conditions. Be sure to follow the safety warnings listed below:
• Do not open the Eclipse or tamper with the circuitry and battery inside.
• Do not connect the positive terminal and the negative terminal of the battery pack to each other with any
metal object [such as wire]
• Do not place the battery in direct sunlight or use and store the battery inside hot cars in hot weather. Doing
this may cause the battery to heat, explode or ignite. Using the battery in this manner may also result in a loss
of performance and a shortened life expectancy.
• Do not disassemble or modify the Eclipse or the battery. Both the Eclipse and the battery contain safety and
protection devices, which, if damaged , may cause the battery to generate heat, explode or ignite.
Immediately discontinue the use of the battery if, while using, charging or storing the battery, the battery emits
an unusual smell, feels hot, changes colour or shape, or appears abnormal in any other way.
• Do not place the battery in a microwave oven, high pressure container or induction cooker.
• In the event that the battery leaks and the fluid gets into your eye, do not rub the eye.. Rinse well with water
and immediately seek medical care. If left untreated, the battery fluid could cause damage in the eye.
• If the unit or parts of this unit are being transported or freighted, seek advice on the correct protocol for
handling and notification of the Li-ion batteries from your shipping agent.
