HEARING PROTECTION
HEARING PROTECTION
EP10 Sonic Defenders®
Ultra Max
Protection Against Two Types of Noise
Full-block EP10 Sonic Defenders
Ultra Max
provide protection against two
types of noise: continuous noise (example: loud roar of an engine) and
impulse noise (example: gunshot). They feature memory-foam Comply™
Canal Tips for all-day comfort and a near-custom fit that provides the
highest level of hearing protection of any Sonic Defenders earplug.
NOISE ATTENUATION DATA
WARNING: Improper fit of this device will reduce its effectiveness in attenuating noise.
Follow instructions for proper fit. Failure to follow instructions could result in hearing
loss and/or injury. EP10 Sonic Defenders
Ultra Max
fit most people; however, no hearing
protection fits everyone. If proper fit cannot be achieved following instructions, discontinue
use. Foam-tipped EP10s should NOT be worn for swimming. For swimming use, we
recommend polymer flange-stemmed Sonic Defenders models.

CONNECTING/DISCONNECTING LANYARD
1. Roll Comply™Canal Tip of right EP10 (marked with an R on the retention
ring) into a thin, round cylinder, being careful not to unscrew tip from stem.
2. Starting with the EarLock®retention ring oriented slightly backward, rotate
the earplug forward while inserting the foam tip deep into the right ear
canal. Fit the retention ring to the natural contour of the concha bowl
surrounding the ear canal to lock the earplug in place. Hold in place 15 -
30 seconds while foam tip fully expands in ear canal.
3. Repeat process with left earplug (marked with an L on the retention ring)
for left ear.
4. Test by clapping. If no noticeable decrease in volume, reinsert and retest.
5. Slowly twist the earplug when removing to break the stem’s seal.
FITTING & TESTING
WARNING: If the instructions above are not adhered to, the protection afforded by EP10
Sonic Defenders
Ultra Max
will be severely impaired.
Remove twist tie and uncoil lanyard.
Insert lanyard ends into small holes
on the outside of EP10 retention
rings, located beneath the stem
ends, and push in until lanyard
ends snap in place. To remove,
pull gently on lanyard ends until
they disconnect from earplugs.
CLEANING, STORAGE & PRODUCT LIFE
EP10 Sonic Defenders
Ultra Max
typically last up to 6+ months, depending
on usage and care. Clean earpieces with mild soap and water and allow to
air dry. Clean foam tips by wiping with a clean cloth and rinsing with water,
then air dry. Replace earplugs when they become stiff and hardened. Store
in a cool, dry place in the included container. Do not leave in direct sunlight.
