NORMAS GENERALES DE SEGURIDAD
Esta LIJADORA tiene características que harán
su trabajo más rápido y fácil. Seguridad, como-
didad y confiabilidad fueron previstos como
prioridad para el diseño del mismo, haciendo
más fácil su operación.
ADVERTENCIA: Lea todas las advertencias
de seguridad y todas las instrucciones. La omi-
sión de alguna de las advertencias e instruccio-
nes que se enlistan a continuación puede dar
como resultado un choque eléctrico, fuego y/o
un daños serios. CONSERVE TODAS LAS AD-
VERTENCIAS Y TODAS LAS INSTRUCCIONES.
NOTA: La expresión "herramienta" en las ad-
vertencias se refiere a la herramienta eléctri-
ca que se conecta a la fuente de alimentación
(con cable) o a la herramienta que se acciona a
batería (sin cable).
SEGURIDAD EN EL ÁREA DE TRABAJO
Mantenga el área de trabajo limpia y bien ilu-
minada. Las áreas desordenadas y oscuras pro-
vocan accidentes.
No maneje herramientas eléctricas en atmós-
feras explosivas, tales como en presencia de
líquidos inflamables, gases o polvo. Las herra-
mientas eléctricas crean chispas que pueden
encender el polvo o los humos.
Mantenga alejados a los niños y curiosos
mientras maneja una herramienta eléctrica.
Las distracciones pueden causarle la pérdida
del control.
SEGURIDAD ELÉCTRICA
La clavija de la herramienta eléctrica debe
coincidir con receptáculo. No modificar nunca
la clavija de ninguna manera. No usar ningún
adaptador de clavijas con herramientas eléctri-
cas puestas a tierra. Clavijas no modificadas y
bases coincidentes reducirán el riesgo de cho-
que eléctrico.
Evite el contacto del cuerpo con superficies
puestas a tierra como tuberías, radiadores, co-
cinas eléctricas y refrigeradores. Hay un riesgo
aumentado de choque eléctrico si su cuerpo
está puesto a tierra.
No exponga las herramientas eléctricas a la llu-
via o a condiciones de humedad. El agua que
entre en la herramienta aumentará el riesgo
de choque eléctrico.
No abuse del cable. No usar nunca el cable para
llevar, levantar o desenchufar la herramienta
eléctrica. Mantenga el cable lejos del calor,
aceite, cantos vivos o piezas en movimiento.
Los cables dañados o enredados aumentan el
riesgo de choque eléctrico.
Cuando maneje una herramienta eléctrica en
el exterior, use una prolongación de cable ade-
cuada para uso en el exterior. El uso de una
prolongación de cable adecuada para uso en el
exterior reduce el riesgo de choque eléctrico.
Si el Uso de una herramienta en un lugar hú-
medo es inevitable, use una alimentación pro-
tegida por un dispositivo de corriente residual
(RCD).
EXTENSIONES DE CABLE
NOTA: El uso de cables dañados incrementa el
riesgo de descargas eléctricas o quemaduras.
Si es necesario un cable de extensión, debe ser
usado un cable con el tamaño adecuado de los
conductores. La tabla de la siguiente página,
muestra el tamaño correcto para usar depen-
diendo en la longitud del cable y el rango de
amperaje especificado en la etiqueta de valo-
res nominales del producto. Si está en duda,
use el rango próximo más grande.
Siempre use cables de extensión listados en UL,
CSA ó NOM. TAMAÑOS RECOMENDADOS DE
EXTENSIONES DE CABLE:
Cuando esté usando el producto afuera, use
una extensión para exteriores marcadas con lo
siguiente: “WA” o “W”. Estas extensiones están
pensadas para trabajar en exteriores y reducen
el riesgo de descarga eléctrica.

SEGURIDAD PERSONAL
Esté alerta, vigile lo que está haciendo y use el
sentido común cuando maneje una herramien-
ta eléctrica. No use una herramienta eléctrica
cuando esté cansado o bajo la influencia de
drogas, alcohol o medicamentos. Un momento
de distracción mientras maneja herramientas
eléctricas puede causar un daño personal serio.
Use equipo de seguridad. Lleve siempre pro-
tección para los ojos. La utilización para las
condiciones apropiadas de un equipo de segu-
ridad tal como mascarilla anti-polvo, zapatos
no resbaladizos, gorro duro, o protección para
los oídos reducirá los daños personales.
Evite un arranque accidental. Asegúrese de
que el interruptor está en posición apagado
antes de conectar a la red y/o a la batería, co-
ger o transportar la herramienta. Transportar
herramientas eléctricas con el dedo sobre el
interruptor o enchufar herramientas eléctricas
que tienen en interruptor en posición encendi-
do invita a accidentes.
Retire llaves o herramienta antes de arrancar
la herramienta eléctrica. Una llave o herra-
mienta dejada unida a una pieza rotativa de
una herramienta eléctrica puede causar un
daño personal.
No se sobrepase. Mantenga los pies bien asen-
tados sobre el suelo y conserve el equilibrio en
todo momento. Esto permite un mejor control
de la herramienta eléctrica en situaciones in-
esperadas.
Vista adecuadamente. No vista ropa suelta o
joyas. Mantenga su pelo, su ropa y guantes
alejados de las piezas en movimiento. La ropa
suelta, las joyas o el pelo largo pueden ser co-
gidos en las piezas en movimiento.
Si hay dispositivos para la conexión de medios
de extracción y recolección de polvo, asegúre-
se de que éstos estén conectados y se usen co-
rrectamente. El uso de estos dispositivos puede
reducir los peligros relacionados con el polvo.
IMPORTANTE: Este aparato no se destina
para utilizarse por personas (incluyendo niños)
cuyas capacidades físicas, sensoriales o menta-
les sean diferentes o estén reducidas, o carez-
can de experiencia o conocimiento, a menos
que dichas personas reciban una supervisión o
capacitación para el funcionamiento del apa-
rato por una persona responsable de su segu-
ridad. Los niños deben supervisarse para ase-
gurar que ellos no empleen los aparatos como
juguete.
UTILIZACIÓN Y CUIDADOS DE LAS
HERRAMIENTAS ELÉCTRICAS
No fuerce la herramienta eléctrica. Use la he-
rramienta eléctrica correcta para su aplicación.
La herramienta eléctrica correcta hará el tra-
bajo mejor y más seguro al ritmo para la que
fue concebida.
No use la herramienta eléctrica si el interrup-
tor no gira “encendido” y “apagado”. Cual-
quier herramienta eléctrica que no pueda con-
trolarse con el interruptor es peligrosa y debe
repararse.
Desenchufe la clavija de la fuente de alimen-
tación y/o de la batería antes de efectuar
cualquier ajuste, cambio de accesorios, o de
almacenar las herramientas eléctricas. Tales
medidas preventivas de seguridad reducen el
riesgo de arrancar la herramienta accidental-
mente.
Almacene las herramientas eléctricas inactivas
fuera del alcance de los niños y no permita el
manejo de la herramienta eléctrica a personas
no familiarizadas con las herramientas o con
estas instrucciones. Las herramientas eléctricas
son peligrosas en manos de usuarios no entre-
nados.
Mantenga las herramientas eléctricas. Com-
pruebe que las partes móviles no estén des-
alineadas o trabadas, que no haya piezas ro-
tas u otras condiciones que puedan afectar la
operación de las herramientas eléctricas. Las
herramientas eléctricas se reparan antes de su
uso, cuando están dañadas. Muchos acciden-
tes son causados por herramientas eléctricas
pobremente mantenidas.
Mantenga las herramientas de corte afiladas y
limpias. Las herramientas de corte mantenidas
correctamente con los bordes de corte afilados
son menos probables de trabarse y más fáciles
de controlar.
Use la herramienta eléctrica, accesorios y pun-
tas de herramienta, etc. de acuerdo con estas
instrucciones y de la manera prevista para el
tipo particular de herramienta eléctrica, te-
niendo en cuenta las condiciones de trabajo

y el trabajo a desarrollar. El uso de la herra-
mienta eléctrica para aplicaciones diferentes
de las previstas podría causar una situación de
peligro.
SERVICIO
Haga revisar su herramienta eléctrica por un
servicio de reparación calificado usando sola-
mente piezas de reemplazo idénticas. Esto ga-
rantizará que la seguridad de la herramienta
eléctrica se mantiene.
ADVERTENCIAS DE SEGURIDAD PARA
LIJADORAS DE BANDA Y DISCO
1. SIEMPRE utilice protección auditiva cuando
use esta máquina.
2. SIEMPRE use una mascarilla contra el polvo
cuando se utiliza esta máquina. Tenga en cuen-
ta que los polvos nocivos o tóxicos podrían ser
producidos en el lijado de algunas maderas.
3. SIEMPRE utilice la mesa para apoyar la pie-
za de trabajo.
4. SIEMPRE revise para asegurarse que mesa
y los accesorios estén seguros antes de comen-
zar.
5. SIEMPRE mantenga una distancia de 2-3 mm
entre la mesa y el disco de lijado.
6. SIEMPRE sostenga la pieza de trabajo firme-
mente de manera que no pueda ser arrancada
de las manos.
7. SIEMPRE empuje la pieza de trabajo contra
la dirección de rotación del disco. Es decir el
lado izquierdo del disco.
8. SIEMPRE mantenga el cable de red bien le-
jos de la máquina y garantice un suministro
eléctrico adecuado esté al alcance de la mano
para que la operación no este limitada por la
longitud del cable.
9. Utilice siempre un dispositivo de extracción
de polvo, correctamente conectado al puerto
de aspiración de polvo.
10. Asegúrese siempre de que clavos u obje-
tos extraños se han retirado de una pieza de
trabajo de antemano. Clavos, etc. destruirán la
cinta o disco.
11. No permita que las ranuras de ventilación
del motor se bloqueen.
12. NUNCA lije piezas que no se puedan man-
tener firmemente con la mano.
CARACTERÍSTICAS
CONOZCA SU HERRAMIENTA
Antes de intentar usar este producto, familiarí-
cese con todas sus características de operación
y requerimientos de seguridad.
IMPORTANTE: Las ilustraciones mostradas a
continuación son solamente de referencia.
IMPORTANTE: Las operaciones de lijado
son inherentemente polvorosos. Se recomien-
da que los usuarios utilicen un sistema de reco-
lección de polvo cuando se utiliza esta lijadora
de banda y disco. El uso de una máscara o res-
pirador todavía se recomienda, incluso cuando
un sistema de colección de polvo está en uso.
1. Perilla de alineación de la banda.

ENSAMBLE
PRECAUCIÓN: La lijadora debe ser ensam-
blada antes de encender. No conecte la unidad
en la fuete de poder hasta que la unidad haya
sido ensamblada por completo.
MONTAJE DE LA LIJADORA A UNA MESA DE
TRABAJO
Antes de intentar utilizar esta lijadora, deberá
ser montada adecuadamente a una mesa de
trabajo o soporte.

1. Coloque la lijadora sobre la mesa de trabajo
donde se vaya a utilizar.
2. Marque la mesa de
trabajo a través de los
agujeros situados en
la base lijadora. Per-

3. Utilice los tornillos largos, arandelas y tuer-
cas (no suministrados), para asegurar la lijado-
ra a la mesa de trabajo como se muestra.
MONTAJE DE LA MESA DE TRABAJO INCLINABLE

de apoyo de la mesa
de manera que el pa-
sador de pivote en-
samble en el agujero
correspondiente en la
estructura de la lijado-
ra y la ranura de radio
se alinee con el orifi-
cio roscado en la es-
tructura de la lijadora.
2. Coloque la arandela en el eje roscado de la
perilla, inserte través de la ranura del radio, y
apriete en el agujero roscado.
3. Ajuste la mesa al ángulo deseado para la
tarea de lijado.
4. Para evitar el atasco de la pieza de trabajo
o los dedos entre la mesa y el disco, ajuste la
posición de la mesa en su soporte de monta-
je para mantener una abertura de no más de
2 mm.
INSTALACIÓN DE LA BARRA GUÍA
1. Coloque la barrera
contra la estructura de
la banda de manera
que la ranura alinee
con el agujero rosca-
do en la estructura.
2. Asegure la barrera
a la estructura con 2
tornillos hexagonales,
arandelas como se muestra. No sobre apriete.
NOTA: La abertura entre la banda de lijado y la
barrera no debe ser mayor de 2 mm.
CONEXIÓN DE LA MANGUERA DE RECOLEC-
CIÓN DE POLVO

1. Coloque una manguera de 2½” de diámetro
interior sobre el puerto para polvo.
Asegure la manguera en su lugar con una abra-
zadera para manguera.
CAMBIO DE LOS DISCOS DE LIJADO
ADVERTENCIA: Apague la máquina y retire
el enchufe de la toma de corriente antes de
cambiar los accesorios.
PRECAUCIÓN: Discos de lijado con felpa y
gancho no pueden ser utilizados con esta lija-
dora
1. Retire la guía de in-
glete y el ensamble de
la mesa de trabajo.
2. Retire los tornillos
de la guarda del disco
y la guarda del disco.
3. Retire el disco de
lijado del plato del
disco. Los discos de
lijado están fijados al
plato con un adhesivo
sensible a la presión.
4. Asegúrese de que el
plato este limpio
5. Despegue la parte trasera del nuevo disco
de lijado.
6. Alinee el perímetro del disco con el plato
y presione firmemente en la posición del disco
en el plato, sin dejar bordes sueltos.
7. Vuelva a colocar la guarda del disco, tornillos
de la guarda del disco y la mesa de trabajo.
CAMBIO DE LA BANDA DE LIJADO
PRECAUCIÓN: Revise el interior de la
banda por una flecha de dirección. Si está Pre-
sente. Instale la banda con la flecha apuntan-
do en la misma dirección como el indicador de
dirección en la carcasa.

1. Afloje el tornillo hexagonal utilizando una
llave hexagonal de 6 mm suministrada.
2. Levante el brazo de la banda de lijado como
se muestra.
3. Deslice hacia fuera un extremo de la palanca
de tensión como se muestra para liberar la ten-
sión de la banda.
4. Retire la bandeja situada en la parte inferior
del brazo de la banda de lijado aflojando los
dos tornillos en la parte posterior del brazo de
la banda de lijado.
5. Deslice la banda de lijado hacia fuera de los
rodillos.
6. Deslice la nueva banda de lijado sobre los
rodillos. Asegúrese de que la banda se centre
en ambos rodillos y es la manera correcta re-
donda.
7. Regrese la palanca de tensión a su posición
original para aplicar tensión a la correa.
8. Reemplace la bandeja y apriete los dos tor-
nillos en la parte trasera del brazo de la banda
de lijado.
9. Baje el brazo de la banda lijado y apriete el
tornillo hexagonal con la llave hexagonal de 6
mm suministrada.
10. Antes de utilizar, revise la alineación de la
banda como se describe en la siguiente sección
y ajuste según sea necesario.
ALINEACIÓN DE LA BANDA
El ajuste de la alineación de la banda se es-
tablece en la fábrica de modo que la banda
abrasiva se correrá sobre los rodillos. Si, sin
embargo, la banda debe alinearse de a un
lado o el otro, un ajuste se puede realizar gi-
rando la perilla de alineación.
· Girando la perilla al sentido de las manecillas
del reloj hará que la banda se alinee a la dere-
cha (hacia la lijadora de disco).
· Girando la perilla al contrario de las maneci-
llas del reloj hará que la banda se alinee al
lado izquierdo de la máquina.
PARA ALINEAR LA BANDA DE LIJADO
1. Gire el brazo de lijado a la posición deseada
y apriete el tornillo hexagonal para asegurar.
2. Encienda la máquina.
3. Observe si la cinta tiende a alejarse de su ali-
neación, y para qué lado (izquierdo o derecho)
de la lijadora.
- Si la banda de lijado no se mueve a ambos
lados, está alineada correctamente.
- Si la banda de lijado se mueve a la derecha
(lado del disco de la lijadora), gire la perilla de
alineación al contrario de las manecillas del
reloj ¼ de vuelta.
- Si la banda de lijado se mueve a la izquier-
da (lejos del disco), gire la perilla de alienación
como la manecillas del reloj ¼ de vuelta.
4. Reajuste la perilla otro ¼ de vuelta, como
sea necesario.
INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN
ADVERTENCIA: Nunca toque la banda o
disco de lijado mientras esta en movimiento,
no toque la pieza de trabajo después del lija-
do, podría estar muy caliente.
ADVERTENCIA: Siempre utilice gafas de se-
guridad cuando esté operando la lijadora.
BOTONES DE ENCENDIDO/APAGADO (ON/OFF)
1. Presione el botón verde (I) para encender la
lijadora.
2. Presione el botón rojo (0) para apagar la
lijadora.
· Si la fuente de alimentación es interrumpi-
da por cualquier razón, la unidad automáti-
camente se apagara. Cuando se restablezca la
energía, sólo tiene que pulsar el botón VERDE
para reanudar el trabajo.
LIJADO DE BANDA

La banda de lijado se puede usar en la posición
vertical u horizontal, dependiendo de las ne-
cesidades del operador y la pieza de trabajo.

Para cambiar de una posición a otra:
1. Afloje el tornillo hexagonal utilizando la lla-
ve hexagonal de 6 mm suministrada.
2. Manualmente mueva la banda de lijado al
ángulo deseado y reapriete el tornillo hexa-
gonal.
LIJADO DE SUPERFICIES EN LA BANDA
Al lijar superficies anchas planas sobre la cinta
sostenga la pieza de trabajo firmemente en
la superficie de la banda y contra la barrera,
manteniendo los dedos fuera de la banda de
lijado. Considere el uso de un palo para em-
puje o sujeción.
- Tenga especial cuidado al lijar piezas muy del-
gadas, y cuando lije piezas extra largas, retire
la barrera.
NOTA: Al utilizar la lijadora sin la barrera, ase-
gurarse de que tiene un firme control sobre la
pieza de trabajo en todo momento y tener un
cuidado especial.
- Aplique sólo la presión suficiente para permi-
tir que la banda de lijado elimine el material.
LIJADO DE PIEZAS CURVAS
Al lijar curvas interiores en la banda de la lija-
dora siempre lije en el rodillo libre al extremo
de la banda.
1. Sostenga la pieza de trabajo firmemente,
manteniendo los dedos fuera de la banda de li-
jado. Mantenga la curva presionada firmemen-
te contra el rodillo libre, moviendo la pieza
de trabajo de manera uniforme hacia atrás y
adelante a través del rodillo.
LIJADO DE DISCO
LIJADO CURVAS EXTERIORES
Siempre lije curvas exteriores utilizando el dis-
co de lijado y mover la pieza de trabajo desde
el lado izquierdo del centro, como se muestra.
Mantenga la curva presionado firmemente
contra el disco de lijado, moviendo la pieza
trabajo de forma uniforme desde el lado iz-
quierdo del disco de lijado. Asegúrese de su-
jetar la pieza de trabajo firmemente contra la
superficie de la mesa.
GUÍA DE INGLETE- LIJADORA DE DISCO
La guía de inglete puede ser utilizada sobre
la mesa de trabajo, como se muestra. La cabe-
za de la guía de inglete puede ser ajustada en
cualquier sitio hasta 60° (derecha o izquierda)
aflojando la perilla de bloqueo, ajustando la
cabeza de la guía de inglete al ángulo desea-
do.

LIJADO DE SUPERFICIES PEQUEÑAS UTILIZAN-
DO LA GUÍA DE INGLETE
La utilización de la guía de inglete es reco-
mendada para el lijado de los extremos con
superficies pequeñas, en el disco de lijado.
NOTA: Siempre mueva la pieza de trabajo a
través del lado izquierdo (al extremo del con-
ducto de polvo de la máquina) del disco de li-
jado y asegúrese de sujetar la pieza de trabajo
hacia abajo firmemente en la superficie de la
mesa.
MANTENIMIENTO
ADVERTENCIA: Desconecte siempre la he-
rramienta de la corriente eléctrica antes de
realizar ajustes, instalar o realizar manteni-
miento.
PRECAUCIÓN: El servicio de la herramienta
debe ser realizado únicamente por personal
de reparación calificado. El servicio o mante-
nimiento realizado por personal no calificado
puede significar un riesgo de lesión. Cuando
realice servicio a la herramienta, sólo utilice
piezas de repuesto idénticas. Siga las instruc-
ciones del mantenimiento de este manual
servicio. El uso de piezas no autorizadas o el
incumplimiento de las instrucciones de man-
tenimiento pueden crear un riesgo de choque
eléctrico o lesiones.
1. Limpie la máquina, banda, disco después de
cada uso.
2. Mantenga la maquina limpia y seca y libre
de aceite y grasa.
3. Almacene la herramienta en un lugar segu-
ro y seco, fuera del alcance de los niños.
4. Durante el uso normal, la banda y el disco
de lijado se pueden llegar a llenar con los re-
siduos del lijado. Utilice un palillo de limpieza
para bandas y discos de lijados (disponible en

GENERAL SAFETY RULES
Your BELT SANDER has many features that will
make your job faster and easier. Safety, per-
formance and reliability have been given top
priority in the design of this tool, qualities to
make easy to maintain and to operate.
WARNING: Read and understand all in-
structions. Failure to follow all indications list-
ed below, may result in electric shock, fire and/
or serious personal injury.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
SAFETY IN WORKING AREA
Keep your work area clean and well lit. Clut-
tered benches and dark areas may cause acci-
dents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmo-
spheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Some power tools create
sparks which may provoke fire.
Keep away observers, children and visitors
while operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
ELECTRIC SAFETY
Double insulation eliminates the need for the
three wire grounded power cord and ground-
ed power supply system.
Avoid the body contact with grounded surfac-
es such as pipes, radiators and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if
your body is grounded.
Don’t expose power tools to rain or wet condi-
tions. The presence of water into power tools
will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not abuse of the power cord. Never use the
power cord to carry the tool and do not pull
the plug off the outlet. Keep the cable away of
heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Replace
damaged cords immediately. Damaged cords
increase the risk of electric shock.
When operating a power tool outside, use an
outdoor extension cord marked “W-A” or “W”.
These cords are rated for outdoor use and re-
duce the risk of electric shock.
EXTENSION CORDS
Replace damaged cords immediately. The use
of damaged cords can shock, burn or electric
shock. If an extension cord is necessary, a cord
with adequate size conductors should be used
to prevent excessive voltage drop, loss of pow-
er or overheating. The table below shows the
correct size to use, depending on cord length
and nameplate amperage rating of tools. In
case of doubt use the next heavier gauge. Al-
ways use UL listed extension cords.
SIZE RECOMMEND EXTENSION CABLES
PERSONAL SAFETY
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool.
Don't use the tool if you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A
moment of inattention while operating power
tools may cause a serious personal injury.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing
or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away of moving parts.
Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
Avoid an accidental starting. Be sure that the
switch is OFF before plugging in. Carrying
tools with the finger on the switch or plug in
the tool switch in ON may cause accidents.
Remove the adjusting keys or wrenches be-
fore turning the tool on. A wrench or a key
that is left close to a rotating part of the tool
may provoke a personal injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times. Proper footing and bal-
ance enables better control of the tools on un-
expected situations.
Use safety equipment. Always wear eye pro-
tection. Dust mask, nonskid safety shoes, hard
hat, or hearing protection must be used for ap-
propriate conditions.
Before connecting the tool to a power source
(receptacle, outlet, etc.) be sure that the volt-
age supplied is the same as that one specified
on the nameplate of the tool. To use a not

specified voltage may cause a serious injury to
the user as well as damage the tool.
IMPORTANT: This appliance is not intended
for use by persons (including children) with re-
duced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
may be different or reduced, or lack of experi-
ence or knowledge, unless such persons are su-
pervised or trained to operate the product by
a person responsible for their safety. Children
should be supervised to ensure they do not use
the devices as toys.
TOOL USE AND CARE
Do not force the power tool. Use the correct
tool for the application. The correct tool will
do the job better and more safely at the rate
that it was designed to work at.
Do not use tools if switch does not turn it on
or off. Any tool that cannot be controlled with
the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
Disconnect the plug from the power source
before making any adjustments, changing ac-
cessories or storing the tool. This preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of accidental
starting of the tool.
When the power tool is not in use, store it out
of the reach of children, and do not allow in-
dividuals who are not familiar with the power
tool or these instructions to operate it. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands on untrained
users.
Maintain the power tool. Check for misalign-
ment or binding of moving parts, broken parts,
and any other condition that may affect the
operation of the power tool. If it is damaged,
have it repaired before using. Many accidents
are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
Check for misalignment or bonding of moving
parts, breakage parts, and any other condition
that may affect the tools operation. If you find
a damaged tool, take it to service before use it.
Use only accessories that are recommended by
the manufacturer of your model. Suitable ac-
cessories for one tool, may become hazardous
when are used on another tool.
Keep cutting tools, sharpened and clean. Cut-
ting tools in good condition with sharpened
edges, are less likely to stuck in workpieces or
easier to control.
Is recommendable to use a safety device suit-
able, such a thermal and differential switch
when you are using an electric equipment.
SERVICE
Tool service must be performed only by quali-
fied repair personnel. Service or maintenance
performed by unqualified personnel could re-
sult in a risk of injury.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR
BELT-DISC SANDERS
1. ALWAYS wear ear protectors/defenders
when using this machine.
2. ALWAYS wear a dust mask when using this
machine. Be aware that harmful or toxic dusts
could be produced when sanding some woods.
3. ALWAYS use the table to support the work-
piece.
4. ALWAYS check to ensure the table and at-
tachments are secure before starting.
5. ALWAYS maintain a clearance of 2 - 3 mm
between table and sanding disc.
6. ALWAYS hold the workpiece firmly so that it
cannot be torn from your hands.
7. ALWAYS feed the workpiece against the
direction of rotation of the disc, i.e. the LEFT
side of the disc.
8. ALWAYS keep the mains cable well away
from the machine and ensure an adequate
electrical supply is close at hand so that the
operation is not restricted by the length of the
cable.
9. ALWAYS use a dust extraction device, prop-
erly connected to the dust extraction port.
10. ALWAYS ensure that nails or foreign ob-
jects have been removed from a workpiece
beforehand. Nails etc. will destroy the belt or
disc.
11. NEVER allow the ventilation slots in the
motor to become blocked.
12. NEVER sand pieces which cannot be held
firmly by hand.

ently dusty. It is strongly recommended that
users use a dust-collection system when using
this belt & disc sander. The use of a mask or
respirator is still recommended even when a
dust-collection system is in use.

ASSEMBLY
CAUTION: The sander must be assembled
before use. Do not plug unit into power source
until the unit has been completely assembled.
MOUNTING THE SANDER TO A WORKBENCH
Before attempting to use this sander, it should
be properly mounted to a workbench or stand
1. Position the sander on the workbench where
you intend to use it.
2. Mark the work-

3. Use long bolts, spring washers and nuts (not
supplied), to secure the sander to the work-
bench as shown.
MOUNTING THE TILTING WORK TABLE ASSEMBLY
1. Position table-sup-
port bracket so that
the "pivot pin" fits
into the correspond-
ing hole on the sander
frame and the radius
slot aligns with the
threaded hole in the
frame.
2. Place washer on threaded shaft of knob,
insert through radius slot, and tighten into
threaded hole.
3. Adjust table to angle desired for sanding
task.
4. To avoid trapping the workpiece or your
fingers between the table and disc, adjust the
position of the table on it’s mounting bracket
to maintain a gap of no more than 2 mm.
INSTALLING THE BACKSTOP
1. Position the back-
stop against the belt
frame so that the slot
aligns with threaded
hole in frame.
2. Secure the back-
stop to frame with 2
x socket head screws,
washers as shown. Do
not overtighten.
• The gap between the sanding belt and the
backstop should be no more than 2 mm.
ATTACHING A DUST COLLECTION HOSE
This sander is equipped
with a 2½" (60 mm) di-
ameter dust port that
can be connected to a
vacuum or dust collec-
tion system.
1. Place a 2½” ID diameter hose over the dust
port. Secure hose in place with a hose clamp.

CAUTION: ‘HOOK & LOOP’ Sanding discs
cannot be used with this sander.
1. Remove mitre
gauge and work table
assembly.
2. Remove the disc
guard screws and disc
guard.
3. Remove sanding
disc from disc plate.
Sanding discs are at-
tached to the plate
using a pressure sensi-
tive adhesive.
4. Ensure the disc
plate is clean.
5. Peel backing away from the new sanding
disc.
6. Align perimeter of disc with plate and press
disc firmly into position on plate, leaving no
loose edges.
7. Replace the disc guard, disc guard screws
and work table.
CHANGING THE SANDING BELTS
CAUTION: Check the inside of the belt for
a "direction arrow". If present, install the belt
with the arrow pointing in the same direction
as the direction indicator on the housing.
1. Loosen the socket head screw using the 6
mm hex wrench provided.
2. Raise the belt sanding arm as shown.
3. Slide out one end of the tension lever as
shown to release belt tension.
4. Remove the tray located on the bottom of
the belt sanding arm by loosening the two
screws on the back of the belt sanding arm.
5. Slide the sanding belt off of the drive and
idler drums.
6. Slide new sanding belt over the drive and
idler drums. Ensure the belt is centred on both
drums and is the right way round.
7. Return the tension lever into its original po-
sition to apply tension to the belt.
8. Replace the tray and tighten the two screws
on the back of the belt sanding arm.
9. Lower the belt sanding arm and tighten the
socket head screw using the 6 mm hex wrench
provided.
10. Before using, check belt tracking as de-
scribed in the next section and adjust as neces-
sary.
BELT TRACKING
The belt-tracking adjustment is set at the fac-
tory so that the abrasive belt will run true on
the drums. If, however, the belt should track
to one side or the other, an adjustment can be
made by turning the tracking knob.
· Turning the knob clockwise will cause the belt
to track to the right (towards the disc sander).
· Turning the knob counter-clockwise will cause
the belt to track to the left side of the machine.
TO TRACK THE SANDING BELT
1. Rotate the sanding arm to the desired posi-
tion and tighten socket head screw to secure.
2. Turn power switch ON.
3. Note whether the belt tends to wander off
its track, and to which side (left or right) of the
sander.
- If the sanding belt does not move to either
side, it is tracking properly.
- If the sanding belt moves to the right (disc
side of the sander), turn the tracking knob
counter clockwise ¼ turn.
- If the sanding belt moves to the left (away
from the disc), turn the tracking knob clock-
wise ¼ turn.
4. Readjust tracking knob another ¼ turn, as
necessary.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Never touch the sanding disc or
belt while it is moving, do not touch the work
piece after sanding, it could be very hot.
WARNING: Always wear safety glasses
when operating the sander.

ON/OFF BUTTONS
The On/Off buttons are located on the front
of the sander.
1. Press the GREEN button (I) to turn the sander
on.
2. Press the RED button (0) to turn the sander
off.
· If the power supply is interrupted for any
reason, the unit will automatically switch off.
When power is restored, simply press the
GREEN button to resume work.
BELT SANDING
HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL SANDING
The sanding belt can be used in the vertical or
horizontal position, depending on operator
needs and the workpiece.
To change from one position to the other:
1. Loosen the socket head screw using the 6
mm hex wrench provided.
2. Manually move the sanding belt to the
desired angle and retighten the socket head
screw.
SURFACE SANDING ON THE BELT
When sanding flat broad surfaces on the belt
hold the workpiece firmly on the surface of the
belt and against the backstop, keeping fingers
away from the sanding belt. Consider using a
push or hold-down stick.
- Use extra caution when sanding very thin
pieces, and when sanding extra long pieces,
remove the backstop.
NOTE: When using the sander without the
backstop, ensure that you have a firm hold on
the workpiece at all times and take extra care.
- Apply only enough pressure to allow the
sanding belt to remove material.
SANDING CURVED PIECES
When sanding inside-curves on the belt sander,
always sand on the idler drum end of the belt.
1. Hold the workpiece firmly, keeping fingers
away from the sanding belt. Keep the curve
pressed firmly against the idler drum, mov-
ing the work evenly back and forth across the
drum.
SANDING DISC
SANDING OUTSIDE CURVES
Always sand outside curves using the sand-
ing disc and moving the workpiece from the
left side of centre, as shown. Keep the curve
pressed firmly against the sanding disc, moving
the work evenly from the left side of the sand-
ing disc. Be sure to hold the workpiece firmly
against the surface of the table.
MITRE GAUGE - DISC SANDER
A mitre gauge can be used on the work table,
as shown. The mitre gauge head can be set
anywhere up to 60˚ (right or left) by loosening
the lock-knob, setting the mitre gauge head
to the desired angle, and tightening the lock-
knob.

SANDING SMALL SURFACES USING THE MITRE
GAUGE
Use of the mitre gauge is recommended for
sanding small end surfaces on the sanding disc.
NOTE: Always move the workpiece across the
left side (dust chute end of machine) of the
sanding disc and be sure to hold the workpiece
down tightly onto the table surface.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Always disconnect tool from
power source before making any adjustments,
installing or performing maintenance.
CAUTION: Tool service must be performed
only by qualified repair personnel. Service or
maintenance performed by unqualified per-
sonnel could result in a risk of injury. When
servicing a tool, use only identical replacement
parts. Follow instructions in the maintenance
section of this service manual. Use of unau-
thorized parts or failure to follow maintenance
instructions may create a risk of electric shock
or injury.
1. Clean the machine, belt and disc after each
use.
2. Keep the machine dry, clean and free from
oil and grease.
3. Store the tool in a safe and dry place, out of
reach of children.
4. During normal use, sanding belts and disc
can become loaded with sanding debris. Use a
stick belt cleaner (available at most hardware
stores) to remove build-up.
