1) Main and operating voltage plate specified on the machine serial number plate must be identical.

ADJUSTMENT
1. IMPORTANT POINTS FORADJUSTMENT
When adjusting or assembling of the machine, the following parts position are very important and the basis
of all adjustment. Th following parts positions are when the machine is start/original position, especially
the direction of each key and the space.

2. BRAKE PRESSUREADJUSTMENT
CAUTION : Switch off the main switch before adjustment.
When adjusting the distance/brake pressure, the machine should be the start position (the positioning hole
of brake eccentric cam must be upper position as shown in figure).
a) Loosen the nut (A), loosen or tighten the adjusting screw (B) until the distance between the brake roller
and the brake eccentric camcomes to 0.07mm – 0.15mm.
b) Keep/hold the adjusting screw (B) so as to be not moved, tighten the nut (A).
NOTE : Never press the brake too much because the machine does not work properly.
IMPORTANT : Never put any oil on the surface of brake pad (part No. S1-1471). If some oil is on the
surface of it, stitch length will be longer than your desired stitch because the brake slips. If the bake pad
got wet with oil, remove the bake pad together with the main cam brake base and put them into alcohol or
gasoline/petrol and wash off oil completely. After washing it, dry the brake pad and fix its components into
original position. When disassembling the brake pad, loosen the screw ①and remove ②, ③, ④. Check
the surface of brake pad.

3. LOOPER STROKE/TIMING
a) Remove the right and left cloth clamp plate. Set the sewing select dial to “S/O”.
b) Start the machine and push the emergency button after the needle works a few stitches.
c) Switch off the main switch for safety.
d) Rotate the hand pulley clockwise(see from the back side) with hand until the needle bar comes to the
lowest position as inside stitches and measure the needle bar height. After measuring, add 2.5mm as
standard looper stroke/timing.
(For example : needle bar lowest point 10.2mm ＋looper stroke/timing 2.5mm = 12.7mm)
e) Rotate the hand pulley until the needle bar comes to the looper stork/timing point which is
measured above d).
A)Adjustment for the left looper :
When the needle bar is inside stitching for the left looper, loosen the screw (A) and rotate the looper
connecting rod (B) until the left looper’s tip comes to the center of the needle. After adjust it, tighten the
screw (A) softly.
B) Adjustment for the right looper :
Rotate the hand pulley so that the needle bar works to the outside stitching for right looper, and continue
it until the needle bar comes to the looper stroke/timing point. Loosen the screw (C) and move the looper
link (D) up or down until the right looper’s tip comes to the center of the needle. After adjust it, tighten
the screw (C) softly.
Continue above adjustment until each loopers tip come to the center of needle when the needle bar comes to
each looper stroke/timing point. After achieving both loopers stroke/timing, tighten the screw (A) and (C)
firmly. Switch on the main switch, and press the light and left foot switch at same time for returning all
positions to original position.

4. NEEDLE BAR HEIGHT
Standard of the needle bar height is 2.5mm from the
eye/threading hole of needle when the looper tip comes to the
center of needle.
a) Remove the right and left cloth clamp plate.
b) Start the machine and push the emergency button after a
few stitching. Switch off the main switch.
c) Rotate the hand pulley clockwise with hand until the
looper’s tip comes to the center of the needle.
d) Loosen the screw (A) and move the needle bar up or down
until the hole of eye/threading of needle comes 2.5mm from
the looper’s tip. After adjusting it, tighten the screw (A).
Please do not tighten the screw too much.
Switch on the main switch, push the left and right foot switch
at the same time for returning all position to the original
position.
5. NEEDLE GUARD, LOOPERSAND SPREADERS POSITION
In case of new machine, the needle guard (A) has been adjusted at the factory as “Schmetz system 558” size
#90 or #110 needle. When changing the size of needle or from old needle guard to new one, it should
readjust. The position of needle guard should be zero or slightly touch against the needle. The needle
guard is flexible, but surface of it for the needle is very hard.
a) Remove the right and left cloth clamp plate.
b) Set the sewing select dial to “S/O ”. Start the machine and push the emergency button after the needle
works a few stitches. Switch off the main switch for safety
c) Remove both loopers and spreaders. Adjust the needle guard depend on the size of needle by bending it
to the forward or backward very carefully.
d) Put both loopers and adjust the position of them against the size of needle. The distance between both
loopers and the needle scarf should be about 0mm ~0.05mm.
e) After adjusting loopers, put spreaders and adjust the position of them as show in figure. The position of
spreaders are adjustable by spreader stoppers. Loosen the screw ①or ②and adjust them. Switch on
the main switch, push the left and right foot switch in the same time for returning the machine to original
position.

6. POSITION OF REDUCING STITCH ROD
CAUTION : Switch off the main switchbefore adjustment.
a) Set the buttonhole selector lever to “EYELET” and the stitch density lever to “MAXIMUM” (+).
b) Loosen the screw ①, move the connecting rod (B) until the distance between the rod (A) and the
circumference of the stitch feed arm comes to 0.8mm. After adjusting, tighten the screw ①.
c) Loosen the screw ②, adjust the distance between the head of rod (A) and the density stitch changing base
is 0.5mm and tighten the screw ②.
NOTE : After adjusting both above points, check the rod (A) whether it moves smoothly from (A) to (A’) and
does not hit to any other parts when moving the buttonhole selector lever.

7. THROAT/NEEDLE PLATE HEIGHT
a) Remove the right cloth clamp plate and set the sewing
selection dial to “S/O.
b) Lock the cloth clamp and start the machine, push the
emergency button when the looper gyration base
return 180°opposite side. Switch off the main switch
for safety.
c) Remove the screw ①and the throat/needle plate,
adjust the height with the screw (A) located in the
bottom of its plate.
d) After adjusting, insert the throat/needle plate and
tighten the screw ①.
Switch on the main switch, push the left and right foot
switch at the same time for returning the all positions to
the original position.
NOTE: Never adjust the height over the surface of the
lower cloth clamp plate.

8. NEEDLE THREAD TENSION RELEASE
CAUTION: Switch off the main switch before adjustment.
When the machine is the start position, the needle
thread tension disks should be released about 0.3mm.
a) Remove the top cover.
b) Loosen the screw (A) and move the rod (B).
c)Afteradjustingit,tightenthescrew(A).
9. LOOPER GYRATION BASE ZERO POSITION
CAUTION : Switch off the main switch before adjustment.
When the machine is the start position, positioning mark
(A) and (B) should be aligned to the center of the screw
①.
a) Remove the right and left cloth clamp.
b) Loosen the screw ②of the looper parallel link, rotate
the looper gyration base and fix the position. Tighten
the screw ②.
IMPORTANT: Before adjustment of looper gyration base, check
the main cam stop position 15.4 of page 14. If it is not adjusted,
the position of looper gyration base does not come to correct
point.
10. POSITION OF CLOTH FEED TABLE
CAUTION : Switch off the main switch before adjustment.
Adjustment is when the machine is the start position.
Loosen the screw ①of feed table fixing screw, move the feed table to the right or left with hand. The
distance of (A) and (B) is about each 3mm. After adjusting, tighten the screw ①.

11. LENGTH COMPENSATION OF BUTTONHOLE LINE
CAUTION : Switch off the main switch before adjustment.
Length of buttonhole line at the point of stitch first and end must be equal/align when the sewing/stitching
finish.
Stitch line incorrect
a) Loosen the screw ①, move the buttonhole length indicator ②to minimum position and tighten the
screw ①softly. In this time adjustment shaft comes out from the backward of cloth feed table as shown
in figure.
b) Loosen the shaft ③a very few (about half) with spanner, insert allenkey wrench into the hole of shaft
and rotate the inside screw ④clockwise or counter-clockwise and tighten the shaft ③.
b) Test the sewing. If both lines are not equal, please repeat to the above manner.

12. UPPER CLOTH CLAMPHEIGHTAND PRESSURE
CAUTION : Switch off the main switch before adjustment.
A) Upper cloth clamp height
a) Raise the clothfeed table and fix it. Loosen the screw ①.
b) Loosen the nut ②, rotate the screw ③until the upper cloth clamp height comes 10mm.
c) Tighten the nut ②and the screw ①.
B) Upper cloth clamp pressure
a) Loosen the nut (A) and the screw (B). Loosen the nut (C), move the shaft (D) up or down until the shaft
(D) comes to nearly the center of groove for flat type cloth clamp. In case of wedge type cloth clamp, the
shaft (D) is about 2mm under from the center of groove.
b) After adjusting, tighten the nut (C). Tighten the screw (B) until it hits to the shaft (D) and tighten the nut
(A).
CUTION: If the pressure is to high, the motor stops caused by high pressure.

13. SPREADING CLOTH CLAMP PLATE
CAUTION : Switch off the main switch before adjustment.
Parallel of cloth clamp plate:
The distance in the point of (A) and (A’) should be the same amount when the machine is the start position.
If the distance is incorrect, adjust it as follows.
a) Loosen the screw ①, push the cloth clamp againstthe edge of feed table and keep the position.
b) Tighten screw ①.
Spreading cloth clamp plate:
The standard distance (B) of left and
right cloth clamp plate is about 2mm
when the cloth clamp is original
position/unlocked. The distance will
be depend on material/fabric or C/A,
C/B sewing. Loosen the screw ②,
adjust the cloth clamp plate to desired
position.
NOTE: Wide distance – The cloth
clamp plate spreads widely.
Narrow distance – The cloth clamp
plate spreads narrowly.

14. KNIFE PRESSURE
CAUTION : Switch off the main switch before adjustment.
a) Remove left and rightcloth clamp plats.
b) Loosen the nut ①and the adjustment screw ②.
c) Pull the knife driving release knob③, rotate it clockwise until mark (B) align to the mark (C).
d) Tighten the screw ②with your hand until the pressure can be felt and tighten the nut ①with spanner.
Never tighten the screw ②too strong/high pressure. The cutting block pressure should adjust as low as
possible to prevent any damage to the surface of cutting block or knife.
CAUTION :
If the knife pressure is too strong/high pressure, surface of knife or cutting block is damaged or safety cap
will be broken to prevent the cutting block arm broken. In case of that, re-adjust the knife pressure in
accordance with above a) ~ d) very carefully.
e) After adjusting d), rotate the knob ③counter-clockwise until the mark (B) align to the mark (A). It is
original position.
NOTE: If you cannot achieve the perfect cutting even the knife pressure is properly, file/dress up a surface of
cutting block carefully.

15. SENSOR POSITION
CUATION: Adjustment of each sensor position, pay attention sufficiently for the electrical shock and remove
the needle for safety.
15.1 Sensor for cloth clamp lock/unlock position adjustment
1. Raise the cloth feed table and fix it.
2. Place the sensor plate (A) and (B).
a)The screw position of plate (A) is the
far left of plate groove.
b)The screw position of plate (B) is
about 1mm to the right from the
center of groove.
3. Put the small steel plate less 1mm thickness on the
interlock safety sensor located backside of machine base.
4. Switch on the main switch.
*Sensor position for the cloth clamp unlock
・Press the cloth clamp foot switch 1~2 times for
unlock position.
・Rotate the belt pulley (C) clockwise with hand
softly, check whether there is room for the
rotation of (C). Please never move the screw
position of plate (A) over the center of groove. If
the screw position is over the center of groove,
cam (D) may hit to the roller of inside cam.
*Sensor position for the cloth clamp lock
・Press the cloth clamp foot switch for lock
position.
・Adjust the distance between the roller (E) and
stopper (F) is 8~12mm by changing the position
of plate (B).
NOTE: The screw of plate (B) is the left against the center of groove, the distance between (E) and (F)
comes to large. The plate (B) is the opposite side, the distance isnarrow.
5. Remove the steel plate from the interlock safety sensor.

15.2 Sensor for needle bar highest stop position
CUATION: Switch off the main switch for the safety. Remove the right and left cloth clamp plate.
Adjustment is the machine start position.
1. Remove the arm cover.
2.Rotate the hand pulley with hand to
clockwise until the key (A) comes to 90°the
right (see from the front of machine) against
upper shaft. In this time, the needle bar is
the highest position.
3. Raise the feed table until it is the highest position and switch on the main switch.
4. Loosen the screw ①and ②, rotate the sensor reflector base (B) clockwise (see from the machine front)
with hand slowly until the lamp of sensor is ON (Lamp will be lit up when the point (C) of sensor
reflection base comes to the sensor reflector). Hold it and tighten two screws firmly.

5. Return the machine feed table to the original position, set the knife selection knob to “S/O” and start the
machine for the test.. Check the position of above key (A) whether the key (A) is nearly 90°to the right
against the upper shaft when the machine comes to the original position/start position (need bar is the
highest position).
6. Replace the arm cover
Important : If the brake located backside of
arm cover worn out, the needle bar may be
over run from the correct stop position after
operating the machine for long time. In this
time, please change the part No. SE-20401A
or SE-20502A-P.

15.3 Sensor for knife cam stop and start position
CUATION: Switch off the main switch for the safety. Remove the light and left cloth clampplate set.
1. Remove arm cover., hold hand-wheel with hand and rotate the knife arm driving belt wheel
counter-clockwise (see from hand-wheel side) with hand until the knife shaft mark (C) comes to motor
cover mark(D).

2. Remove the motor cover while you pay attention to inside cords. Loosen two (2) screws of sensor reflector
ring and adjust the position of its ring. After adjusting it, tighten two (2) screws firmly.

3. Replace the arm and motor covers. Test the machine for knife stop position.
Important : If the brake located backside of
arm cover worn out, the knife cutting block
arm may be over run some time even though
the knife cam stop position is correct after
long time operation of the machine. In this
time, please change the part No. SE20K06Aor
adjust the height of brake. Standard adjustment
of brake (SE-20K06A) at the factory is 3.8 ~
4.5mm.
Please never bend the brake plate too much,
the pressure must be as low tension as possible.

15.4 Sensor for main cam stop position
CUATION: Switch off the main switch for the safety before adjustment. Remove the light and left cloth
clamp plate.
1. Remove the bed cover (rear ofthe machine).
2. Fix the sensor plate (A) to the lowest position against the sensor screw as figure and tighten two screws.

3. Switch on the main switch, set the knife selection knob “S/O” and start the machine. After returning the
cloth feed table to the original point, check the position of the main cam stopper arm (B) whether it lean
about 3 – 5°toward right. If the stopper arm (B) lean too much toward right, adjust againcarefully.
After adjusting the above, check the loopre gyration base
positioning hole ①whether its hole ①move or not
when the machine start. If the positioning hole ①dose
not stabilize and move a few, the main cam stop position
is incorrect. Adjust the sensor plate fixing position
again.
NOTE: Adjustment of the positioning mark ①and ②,
see the page7 “9. LooperGyration Base Zero Position”.

15.5 Sensor for the stitch start and stop
CAUTION: Pay attention carefully during the adjustment and remove the needle for safety.
1. Switch on the main switch, set the knife selection knob to “S/O”.
2. Start the machine and stop it by emergency button after the needle start a few stitches.
3. Raise the cloth feed table and fix it.
4. Loosen the knob ①, slide the knob ②to rear or front with hand. Tighten the knob ①when the roller
(A) comes to the head of cam block (B).

5. Loosen the sensor reflector plate screw ③, move the plate (C) as figure (C)-1 and tighten the screw ③
softly.
6. Loosen the sensor reflector plate base screw ④
・Rotate the base (D) counter-clockwise until the sensor lamp is off if the sensor red lamp is already on.
Rotate the base (D) clockwise step by step untilthe sensor lamp is just on, tighten the screw ④firmly.
7. Loosen the sensor reflector plate screw ③, move the plate (C)-1 as figure (C)-2 and tighten the screw ③
firmly.

17. CONTENTS OF LED LAMP INDICATION FOR ERROR CHECK
LED lamp is located on the operation panel of the left side of machine arm.
PWR SEW ALM Color of LED lamp
PWR=Green
SEW=Green
SPEED CONTROL ALM = Red
Contents of LED lamp alarm indication for machine trouble check
= LED lamp is ON = LED lamp is ON and OFF
=LED lamp is OFF
Important:
When the machine has some problem and LED lamps display as above kind of error, please advise us which
error before adjustment.
For example: PWR = ON, SEW= ON,ALM = ON/OFF
After receipt of your information, we will instruct you check point or how to adjust the machine.
