2.3 BUILT-IN STARTUP BALANCING
The T8 has a built-in Startup Balancing feature which may be turned on or off via the T8 itself. This feature
enhances the unit’s self-balancing feature by further stabilizing the board and ensuring that the pedals always face
up. By default, this feature is turned off. With this feature on, if the rider falls or otherwise dismounts the unit while
moving over an incline, the unit may continue to move on its own as it attempts to balance resulting in damage to
others, surrounding obstacles, and/or the unit itself.
To turn the feature on, use the power button. While the unit is powering on, quickly press and release the power
button a second time. A confirmation beep will issue. Follow the same steps to turn the feature off/on again.
If you decide to use this feature, it is recommended to ride only on surfaces which are completely flat with
stable terrain. When the unit is on and this feature is on, do not place your hands on or attempt to grasp
the unit anywhere near the wheels or fenders as doing so may cause the wheels to spin on their own for
a brief moment. If lifting the unit, turn it off before lifting. Do not lift or carry the unit when this feature is on
and the board is powered on.
Failure to adhere to these warnings and/or instructions will result in injuries including but not limited to: abrasions,
lacerations, smashed fingers and/or amputation of fingers, injury of others, and damage to surrounding objects.

English 12 SWAGTRON®T8 Hoverboard
NOTE:
When riding the SWAGTRON® T8, you must make sure both feet are
touching the pedals for proper detection. Do not put other objects on
the pedals as this could cause the T8 to lock or move on its own.
NOTE:
+Do not tilt forward or backwards beyond 10º, as the T8
may malfunction.
+The T8 will not function if it flips upside down.
+Avoid uneven or rocky surfaces as the T8 may not function
properly.
+Avoid hills or slopes with inclines over 30°.
+When the rider exceeds the maximum speed, the T8 may emit
a warning alarm.
3.2 HOW IT WORKS
The SWAGTRON®self-balances and moves because of Dynamic Equilibrium. This is generated by the shifting of
your body weight. The T8 uses an internal gyroscope with acceleration sensors to move based on your center of
gravity. When you lean forward, it will sense your actions and accelerate. When you need to turn, slow down and
gently shift the weight on your left or right foot to turn towards the opposite direction.

+When riding at higher speeds, avoid turning too fast as this may result in accidents.
+Avoid riding sideways or turning on slopes. The self-balancing sensors may malfunction and may require
recalibration.
+Do not step on the center pivot point of the SWAGTRON®.
+If the T8 flips over or rotates more than 180°, the motor and riding capability will be disabled. To restore
normal functionality, power off the unit, and then power it back on. After this, continue to ride as normal.
3.3 CALIBRATION
If your T8 seems to pull to the left or right during your ride, you may need to recalibrate its sensors. The process
requires a flat stable surface and a level. Levels may be purchased separately at most hardware stores or level apps
may be downloaded with most smartphones. To calibrate your unit, follow the instructions below.
STEP 1. Power off your T8.
STEP 2. Rotate the T8 until both pedals are level over the ground. For best results, use a level.
STEP 3. While the T8 remains level, press and hold the power button down to turn on the unit.
STEP 4. Keep holding the power button down for an additional 6 seconds. Release the power button when you hear
a single beep.
STEP 5. Press the power button again to turn the T8 off.
STEP 6. Press the power button again to turn on your newly calibrated T8.

SWAGTRON®T8 Hoverboard 15 English
If the SWAGTRON®T8 is still not calibrated correctly, repeat step 1 to 6 or contact customer support for
additional assistance.
IV – SAFE RIDING TECHNIQUES
Although the SWAGTRON®T8 is designed with gyroscopic balancing technology in order to maintain maximum
stability, it is still possible to “override” the SWAGTRON®T8 and tip over when riding too fast.
Practicing these techniques can help ensure that you have a safe, fun riding experience.
CAUTION
+Wear appropriate clothing and safety gear including knee pads, elbow pads, and an ASTM F1492 approved
helmet for all riders of all ages at all times.
+When going through entryways, remember that you are taller.
+Avoid wearing anything that can drape over or get caught into/under the wheels.
+Wear flat shoes to maintain flexibility and stability.
+Keep your feet on the pedals. Taking your feet off the SWAGTRON®while riding is incredibly dangerous.
+Ride on even pavement or smooth roads. While riding, relax your legs and keep your knees slightly bent. This
helps maintain balance when you encounter uneven ground.
+Ensure your speed is safe for yourself and others and be ready to stop at any time.
+When riding near others, keep a safe distance to avoid collisions.
+Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Your eyes are your best tools for safely avoiding obstacles and
unsafe surfaces.

English 16 SWAGTRON®T8 Hoverboard
+Stay in open spaces and flat areas. Avoid steep slopes or high traffic areas until you’re familiar with riding.
+The SWAGTRON®T8 can only support the weight of one person at a time.
+Remember, only ride the SWAGTRON®T8 where it is permitted. You MUST comply with local laws and give
way to pedestrians.
Never ride at high speeds on uneven terrain or slopes.
Never perform stunts or turn abruptly without checking your surroundings.
Never carry heavy items while riding.
Never ride in the rain, dark, or dimly lit areas.
Never use the T8 to do anything that may cause personal injury or property damage.
Never ride backwards for long distances or at high speeds.
Never step off the T8 when it is in motion.
Never place anything on the rider detection pads except your feet. Doing so could interfere with the
rider detection system and may cause the T8 to travel on its own, risking collision with a person or
property and causing injury or damage.
Never operate your T8 near flammable vapor, liquids, dust, or other fire hazards.
Never ride your T8 after consuming alcohol or drugs, or while intoxicated. You can be arrested for
drunk driving.
FAILURE TO USE COMMON SENSE AND HEED THE ABOVE WARNINGS INCREASE THE RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY, OR
IN VERY RARE CASES, DEATH. USE WITH APPROPRIATE CAUTION AND SERIOUS ATTENTION TO SAFE OPERATION.
