DRS SERIES OIL-LESS AIR COMPRESSOR
OPERATION MANUAL

1
PREFACE
Thank you for purchasing a air compressor. This
manual introduces our DRS Series air-cooled oil-less air compressors
to the user all the information required to install, commission and
operate compressors and carry out the regular schedules for servicing
and maintenance which ensure the most efficient and trouble-free
operation while the compressor begins to run.
The conditions of warranty are set out from the distributor supplying
the machine. In the event that the product has been tampered with,
repaired with parts not manufactured by Tong Cheng, serviced by
unauthorized personnel, or where recommended maintenance
procedures have not been followed, the warranty will be waived
automatically.
This compressor is intended for compressing atmospheric air only
and strictly prohibit from compressing any other gas.
“SWAN” compressor incorporates the latest design technology and
use only components selected for their quality and durability to ensure
more efficient and durable operation.
We constantly strive to meet high quality and durability standards
and reserve the right to change specifications if required. Thank you
again for your continuous support. We hope to serve you again soon.

III. Installation and precautions
1. Installation essentials
1-1. Please install the unit in position where it is easy
to do maintenance and good ventilation.
1-2. Do not install in damp or dusty places.
1-3. Install on flat and firm ground to prevent from
slipping.
2. Electric wiring
2-1. Ensure the voltage and frequency is correct.
2-2. For safety reason, always follow electricity
instructions, and equipped with NFB (Non Fuse
Breaker).Besides, the power voltage should not be
lower than 90% of the required standard voltage.
2-3. The joint of power supply should be fixed firmly
to avoid any disconnection and break down.
3. Protection points
3-1. The unit is equipped with pressure switch to avoid
pressure too high: when air tank pressure reaches
to the upper pre-set value, the pressure switch will
cut-off the motor power to stop operating the unit.
(stand-by condition).
3-2. When the unit is in stand-by condition and air
pressure drops to the pre-set lower value, the
pressure switch will resume to “ON”, and the
motor will re-start to operate.
3-3. Safety valve is fitted to prevent over-pressure;
over-temperature protection is equipped to protect
the motor.
3-4. While abnormal high temperature occurs, the
motor protection switch will be actuated to shut
off the motor and stop running the unit.

6
Please power off the unit and check. Restart the
unit after trouble-shooting.
IV. Operation
1:
::
:Check before start
1-1. Make sure if power source and electrical
connections comply with local electrical
regulations, equipped with NFB (Non Fuse
Breaker) and earth wiring.
1-2. Check set bolts and nuts if looseness.
1-3. Check if electrical cables are correct.
1-4. Check if voltage is correct.
2:
::
:Check under operation
2-1. Check if compressed air pressure rises normally.
2-2. Check if loading current of motor remains in
standard level.
2-3. Check if all safety device work properly by hand.
2-4. Never touch cover under operation. Stay away
from high heat components, motor, and fan to
avoid injury.
2-5. For long lasting life, the rate of loading cycle is
suggested to be not over 70%.
V. Maintenance
1:
::
:Daily maintenance
1-1. Release water from air tank after daily use.
(Please implement under 1kg/cm².G)
1-2. Check if compressed air pressure rises normally in running.
1-3. Clean compressor cover on both sides to
always keep inlet valve clean.
1-4. Check if abnormal sound or vibration happens.

7
1-5. Check if voltage & current of the power supply to
the motor are normal.
1-6. Check and clean impurities from inlet
filter element every month (300 hours).
