Welcome
Thank you for purchasing the new SY-CON01 Mini Smart Socket. In order to fully
benefit from this product, please read this user guide carefully. It contains important
information for your safety as well as use and maintenance advice. Store the user guide in
a safe place for future reference. If this product is passed to a third party, this user guide
must be included.
Intended use
•This product is only intended for indoor use in dry locations.
•It shall be used within its outlet rating in these instructions.
•It is not intended for commercial or industrial use.
Safety precautions
•Read and save these instructions. When using electrical appliances, basic safety
precautions should always be followed.
•DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions of the power
socket, as this will void the warranty.
•Contact your dealer in case of transport or other damages.
•Plug in the product fully, in the proper condition and away from children.
•DO NOT insert or allow objects to enter any openings as this may damage the product
and could cause an electrical shock or fire.
•DO NOT expose the product to dripping or splashing water.
•DO NOT expose the product to direct sunlight or extreme heat.
•DO NOT place any water-filled objects (such as vases), burning objects (such as
candles) or heavy objects on the product.
•DO NOT let children play with the packaging materials or plastic bags.
•If the unit is damaged or it malfunctions, do not continue to operate it. Refer to the
troubleshooting section and seek professional advice.
•This product is not intended for use in wet or damp locations. DO NOT use the product
in bathrooms.
•Never locate the product where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
•This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children or elderly) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,

unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
•Children should not play with this appliance.

Operation
Before first use
1. Before operating the product, remove it from its packaging and check that it is in good
condition and no parts are missing.
2. Connect the product to a suitable power outlet.
3. Connect the device to be controlled to the power socket (4).
Install Smart Life app
1. Find the “Smart Life” app in the Apple App Store or on Google Play, or scan the QR
code below and install it on your smartphone.
2. Enter the registration/login interface and enter your phone number to receive the
verification code for registering your account.

The free app is compatible with devices supporting iOS 8.0 or Android 4.4 or above.
Connect your SY-CON01 Mini Smart Socket with the app
Easy mode
1. Ensure that your SY-CON01 Mini Smart Socket is connected to mains power.
2. Open the Smart Life app on your smartphone and tap on “Add devices” or the “+”
icon in the top right corner of the page.
3. Select “Plug”.
4. Press and hold the On/Off button on your SY-CON01 Mini Smart Socket for
5 seconds until the indicator flashes quickly. Confirm in the app.
Note: The On/Off button doubles as a reset button. Press and hold to change the
flashing and to reset your SY-CON01 Mini Smart Socket to factory default.
However, this will delete all personalized settings.
5. Select your local wireless LAN network, enter and confirm the correct password.
6. Wait until the configuration is successfully finished and tap on “Done”.
AP mode
1. Change to AP mode if the connection failed in Easy mode. You find AP mode in the
top right corner in the “Add device” menu.
2. Press and hold the On/Off button on your SY-CON01 Mini Smart Socket for
5 seconds until the indicator flashes slowly. Confirm in the app.
3. Select your local wireless LAN network, enter and confirm the correct password.
4. Tap on “Connect Now” and select the Wi-Fi hotspot “Smart Life xxx”.
5. Return to the Smart Life app.
6. Wait until the configuration is successfully finished and tap on “Done”.
Get to know the Smart Life app
Switches
“Switches” allows you to turn on/off your SY-CON01 Mini Smart Socket from
anywhere, as long as you have an Internet connection.
Tap on the icon in the top right corner of the page to modify the device name or to create a
group made up of several SY-CON01 Mini Smart Sockets. In this case you can turn
multiple devices in your home on and off.

Timer
Here you can schedule for instance the device named “Lights” to turn on automatically at
the time when you usually come home. You can also turn the lights on and off at different
times when you are not at home to make people believe that you are at home while you
are away.
Countdown
Here you can set your SY-CON01 Mini Smart Socket to switch on or off after a
certain period of time.
Scenes
With this function you can create your own scenes freely.
Profile
Here you enter and manage your personal information as shown in the illustration below.

Set your Amazon Echo speaker via Alexaapp
What you need
Amazon Alexa app and account (registered in your name)
Smart Life app and account (registered in your name)
Echo, Echo Dot, Tap or other Amazon voice-operated devices
SY-CON01 Mini Smart Socket
Tip: Rename the device after successful configuration. Use English words that can easily
be pronounced.
1. Sign in with your Alexa account and password. If you have not yet registered, this is the
right time to catch up.
2. Tap on the menu at the top left, then tap on “Settings” and select “Set up new device”.
3. Select a device (e.g. Echo). After the right page appears, press and hold the small dot
on your Echo device until the light turns orange.
4. Then tap on “Continue” in the app.
Note: At this time your smartphone cannot open VPN software.

5. Select your Wi-Fi connection and wait a moment.
6. After a short introduction video, tap on “Continue” to automatically return to the home
page. Your Echo device is now connected via Wi-Fi to the Alexa app.
7. To enable the skills in the Alexa app, select “Skills” in the options bar, then enter
“Smart Life” in the search bar.
8. Select “Smart Life” in the search results and tap on “Enable”.
9. Enter your previously registered user name and password. If the following page (on
the right side) appears, your Alexa account has been successfully linked with the
Smart Life account.
Voice control of the SY-CON01 Mini Smart Socket
After having completed the previous settings, you can control your SY-CON01 Mini
Smart Socket via Echo.
1. Discover devices: Tell your Echo “Echo (or Alexa), discover my devices”.

Echo will start finding devices that were previously added in the Smart Life app. The
result will be shown after approx. 20 seconds.
Alternatively, tap on “Discover devices” in the Alexa app to show successfully found
devices.
Note: Echo is only one of three wake-up names that can be selected under Settings:
Alexa, Echo, Amazon.
2. Supported skills list: You can control connected devices with commands like stated
below:
Alexa, turn on [fridge socket].
Alexa, turn off [fridge socket].
Ensure that the name of the device corresponds to the name added in the Smart Life
app.
Cleaning and storage
•Turn the product off before cleaning.
•Clean and dry the product regularly, particularly in areas in contact with the skin. Use
a clean damp or anti-static cloth.
•Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaners.
•Clean the device regularly as accumulated dust and lint could affect charging process.
•When not in use, store the product in its original packaging, out of reach of children
and pets.

Disposal
