PLAN YOUR INSTALLATION
Check local regulations regarding construction and power
installations. Be sure to carefully observe the safety standards
regarding pool fences and covers.
Choose an appropriate location for your pool while taking
into account the following points :
•Distance between the pool and the fence• Appropriate
electrical outlets • Arial power lines• Surrounding trees
(roots)• Reflection of sun in your yard• Underground
cables and gas lines• Location of accessories (filter,
decks,etc.)

Pleasenote,thatitisessentialtostoreyourcedarswimming
poolinadryplaceprotectedfromtheelements
followingdelivery.Dyetheoutsidesurfaceofthepoolbefore
itsinstallationbyreferringtothemaintenanceguideof
yourcedarswimming pool. Makesure that itisstored ina
dryplaceuntilitsinstallation.Improperstorageofyour
cedar pool before assembly and installation could cause
permanentdamagetothestructureandminimizethe
length of the warranty.
1.GROUNDSURFACEANDLEVELING:
Itisveryimportantthatthegroundunderyourpoolbefirm
andsolid.Thelocationmustbefreeofgrass,rocks,roots,or
anyotherobjectsthatmaypiercetheliner.
2. BUILDING AN APPROPRIATE COVE AT THE BASE OF THE
POOL :
This cove is very important since it prevents the liner from
slipping under the wall. Only use building sand.
3. BEFORE STARTING YOUR INSTALLATION :
Makesureyouhaveallthepartsrequiredfortheinstallation
(seelistofpartsforabovegroundandsemi-ingroundpools).
Should you discover any irregularities such as missing or
defectiveparts,yourdealerwillpromptlyprovideorreplace
with new parts.
IMPORTANT:
If you choose to hire a professional installer or other person
experiencedintheareaofpoolinstallation,makesurethat
the instructions provided by Taïga-Zone are followed with
great care. Taïga-Zone declines all liability resulting from
inadequateinstallation.

You have purchased a family pool of a superior quality and
durability.Undernormaluseandcare,itwillprovideyouwith
yearsofenjoyment.Astheownerofapool,youareresponsible
fortheprotectionofthosewhoswiminit.Westronglyurgeyou
to follow these few safety rules:
A)SAFETYEQUIPEMENTREQUIRED:
•Alight,strongpole,atleast12ft.(3,66m)long,withblunt
end:
•Aring-typelifepreserverwithattachedropeofrespectable
lenght;
•Emergencynumberspostednexttothepoolandtothe
telephoneclosesttothepool(police,fireandrescueunits,
doctor,ambulanceserviceandclosesthospital).
B) WHEN YOU BECOME OWNER OF A POOL, YOU MUST BE
PARTICULARLYFAMILIARWITHIMPORTANTRULES,NAMELY:
Neverjumpordivefromtheedgesofthepool.
•Neverallowyourchildrenoryourneighbour’schildrento
swimwithoutsupervision.
•Neverswimalone.
•Alwaysremovepoolladderorraisesafetyladderwhenthe
pool is not in use.
•Waitatleastonehourafteramealbeforeswimming.
•Donotallowpetsinoraroundthepool.
•Donottolerateanyhorseplayaroundthepool.
•Donotthrowobjects(sticks,stones,etc.)intothepool.
•Keepallelectricalappliancesawayfromthepool.
•Keepallmetalorglassobjectsawayfromthepool.
•Donotallowsickpeopleinthepooltoavoidthespreadof
infection.
•Donotswimifthereisariskofathunderstorm,sincewater
attracts lightning.
Pool owners often wait for incidents or accidents to occur
beforesettingstrictsafetyrules.Westronglyrecommendthat
you establish your rules before the first person steps into your
pool.Ifpossible,makesurethateveryoneusingthepoolhas
hadsomebasictraininginwatersafetyandrescuemethods.
TheRedCrosspublishsabookonthesubjectwithanemphasis
on first aid for swimmer in difficulty, mouth to mouth
resuscitation and several other subjects. We strongly
recommendthatyourefertothispublication.
IMPORTANTSECURITYNOTICE
For Taïga-Zone, the security of your family is an important
issue. For this reason, we provide you stickers advising you
NOTTO JUMPorNOTTODIVEbecause oftheLOWLEVELOF
WATER. THESE STICKERS HAVE TO BE APPLIED CLOSE TO THE
ACCESSESOFYOUR POOL, CLOSETOTHE LADDER ORONTHE
PLATFORM. NEVER REMOVE THESE STICKERS. As the time
passes,ifyouneedtoreplacethem,pleasecontactussothat
we can provide you with a new set.

•Choosethebestfirmgroundforyourpool.Driveastakeat
thecenterofthechosenpoolsite.Withastringandanother
stick,drawacirclethatis6inches(15cm)longerinradius
than your pool. Refer to the figure 1.1 and the table A
below. Remove the grass within this circle and leave the
stake at the center (figure 1.2).
• Do not forget Taïga-Zone will not be responsible for any
damagescausedtoyourpoolifitisinstalledonsoftornon-
levelledground.Donotinstallpoolonasphalt,tar,wood,
rock or grass covered areas.
Donotaddmaterialorsoiltoleveryourpoolsite.Youmust
digdowntoremovethehighestpointsofyoursite.
Any added soil won't give the needed strenght to support
pool's weight. The entire pool area must be completely
levelled.
•Level it using a carpenter's level and a straight board
nailed to the center stake (figure 1.2).
Have the straight board the same length as the radius of
yourpool.Makesuretheentirebottomissmoothandfree
ofanyforeignmaterial,suchaswoodorrocks.
•After you levelled the surface, you can dig to the depth
specified in the table A below and as shown on figure 1.3
• Add 2" (5 cm) of compacted crushed stone into hole at
pool limit and add concrete blocks (16”X 8”X 2”) on the
crushed stone (figure 1.3).

In order to ensure proper water drainage around the wood
pool,erectatwo-degreeslopearoundtheperimeterofthe
pool(See figurebelow).Theslopeisveryimportant.THE
MANUFACTURER WILL NOT HOLD ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR
ANYLIABILITIESIFTHISSTEPISOMITTED(figure1.4).Nograss,
no mulch around the perimeter of the pool. River stones
suggested.
