Congratulations!Youhavepurchasedapoolofsuperiorqualityanddurability.Toachievethebestpossibleresults,followtheinstructions
carefully. Failure to follow the installation procedures may result in damage to your pool or property and void your warranty. We recommend
thatyoumakeapreliminarystudyoftheinstructionbooklettofamiliarizeyourselfwiththedifferentpartsofyourpool.Makesurethat
you understand each step thoroughly before you begin assembling.
We wish you a most pleasant and refreshing summer.
WARNING : Be sure you have read and understand the 'Safety Information'
sheets before you begin your pool installation.
WARNING : For your safety, your pool is not designed for diving and/or
jumping head first. Please do not dive. Diving may result permanent injury
or death.

1. SITE PREPARATION
• Choosethebestfirmgroundforyourpool.Driveastakeatthecenter
ofthechosenpoolsite.Withastringandanotherstick,drawacircle
that is 6 inches (15 cm) longer in radius than your pool. Refer to the
(figure 1.1) and the table A below. Remove the grass within this circle
andleavethestakeatthecenter(figure1.2).
• Do not forget Taïga Zone will not be responsible for any damages
caused to your pool if it is installed on soft or non-levelled ground. Do
notinstallpoolonasphalt,tar,wood,rockorgrasscoveredareas.
• Do not add material or soil to level your pool site. You must dig down
to remove the highest points of your site.
• Any added soil won't give the needed strenght to support the pool's
weight. The entire pool area must be completely levelled.
• Level it using a carpenter's level and a straight board nailed to the
centerstake(figure1.2).
• Have the straight board the same length as the radius of your pool.
Make sure the entire bottom is smooth and free of any foreign
material,suchaswoodorrocks.
• After you levelled the surface, you can dig to the depth specified in the
table A below and as shown in (figure 1.3).
• Add 2" (5 cm) of compacted crushed stone into hole at pool limit and
addconcreteblocks(16"X8"X2")onthecrushedstone(figure1.3).

In order to ensure proper water drainage around the pool, erect a two-
degree slope around the perimeter of the pool (See figure below). The
slope is very important. (figure 1.4). No grass, no mulch around the
perimeter of the pool. River stones suggested.

clearance needed for the crushed stone (B).

Use the panel clips (R) and screws (V) to tie together the panels at the
base. For the top, attach the columns (CF) with the screws (W). (figure 2.1)
Column screw tightening should be done manually, using a screwdriver.
It is important to plan the location of your filter system ahead of time, and
to install the filter panel in the right place.

• Installthelowerstrapfirst.Todoso,screweachstraphookwith2(V)
screws at 9 in.(24 cm) from the bottom of the wall, aligned with each
column (CF). There are pre-drilled holes on the left edge of each panel
(figure 3.2).
• Insertthestrapineachofthestraphooks(L)andflipthescrewcover
from the support to hide the screws.(figure 3.1). When the strap is
installed, fasten together using the necessary hardware. See steps 1
and 2 in (figure 3.3). Note that it is very important that the assembly of
the straps should be symmetrical.
• During the assembly, do not try to pull the strap. If the holes are not
aligned. You can choose a looser assembly. The tension in the strap
will be created when the pool is full. Install the second and the third
strap using the same method.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - BELT INSTALLATION
Install the straps at their minimum position by manually removing all the
slack around the pool. Never use force (screwdriver or any mechanical
means) to align the holes in the strap assembly. If the straps cannot reach
their minimum positions, use the next holes as shown in example A and
B, or looser, until the straps can be attached. Always use 3 bolts. Ensure
that the top and bottom straps are attached at the same hole positions.
Tightenthenutsuntilthelockwashersarecompletelycompressedand
thereisnoslackbetweenthestraps.
Ifnecessary,distributetheslackinthestrapsthroughoutthepoolbefore
filling with water. (figure 3.4)
Always use 3 bolts. THE MANUFACTURER DECLINES ALL LIABILITY
FOR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS STEP OF
THE PROCEDURE.
3. STRAPS INSTALLATION
Usingahammerandachisel,removethecenteroftheskimmeropening.
Refer to (figure 4.1) for visual support.
Theskimmerwillneedtobeinstalledaftertheliner.Refertotheskimmer’s
assembly instructions in order to ensure a proper installation.

You may now spread 2-3 in.(7,5 cm) of building sand on the bottom of the
pool and shape a 6 in.(15 cm) cove. Slant at the base of the wall. While
shapingthecove,makesuretocovertheinsulationfoamatthebaseofthe
poolinsuchawayastokeepittaut.DO NOT USE FINE SAND, or any other
product referred to as a pool base, that may damage the vinyl liner.
The cove is very important. THE MANUFACTURER DECLINES ALL LIABILITY
FOR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS STEP OF
THE PROCEDURE.

6. SAND BOTTOM PREPARATION

As indicated in (figure 5.1), unroll the foam on the wall and position it with the
help of the anchorage fitting. Affix the foam with adhesive tape (figure 5.2).
Once the foam is attached, cut the foam at the skimmer and backflow
whiletakingspecial careto leavefoam covering thescrews;coveronce
again with another strip of adhesive tape.

7. LINER INSTALLATION
Place the folded liner at the center of the pool. Remove your shoes to
avoid damaging the liner. Carefully unfold the liner and bring the bottom
seamalongthebaseofthewall(figure7.1).Makesurethepatternedside
is facing upward.
Lift the edges of the liner and insert into the notch of the retaining section
as you go along (figure 7.2).
Insertthehoseofthevacuumcleanerinthebackflowplatehole,between
the wall and the liner. The end of the hole has to be at approximately
12in.(30cm)fromthebottomofthepool.Startthevacuumtosuckthe
air. Before starting to fill the pool, you must:
• Checkthattherearenofolds;
• makesurethattherearenoapparentdefects.
You may begin filling the pool. Remove the vacuum cleaner once the
water is 4 in (10 cm) deep in the shallow part of the pool.
REMEMBER TO :
• Pull the liner firmly but gently;
• Avoid pulling the liner by the sealing joints;
• Avoid damaging the cove or leaving air traped between the liner and
cove;
• Equally distribute any excess liner along the whole circumference
of the wall.

Position the ledge all around the assembled
pool. Scew them permanently to the columns
with screws (Y).
As illustred in (figure 8.1), first attach the top rail
at the front. Once these are all placed, screw in
thesectionsattheback.
Carefully insert the rear part of the seat cap and
attach with screws (X) (figure 8.2). Then insert
thefrontsectiontakingcaretoalignitwiththe
column, and attach it in the same manner.
At the very last, insert the seat cap logos to
hide the assembly screws. Note that there is a
left clip and a right clip. You will recognize
these by the letters R for right and L for left,
inscribedonthebackofeachclip.(figure8.3).

8. LEDGES AND CAPS INSTALLATION
8.1
Install the four (4) safety labels (DANGER) supplied with your pool as
follows: two (2) labels visible at the entrance to the pool and two (2) visible
atthemainaccessofthebackyard.Installaminimumofthree(3)safety
labels (supplied with the liner) inside the pool so that at least one label is
visible no matter where the bather enters the water (see drawing for
positionning)

GENERAL INFORMATION
SAFETY EQUIPEMENT
LADDER SAFETY
The pool is subject to wear and deterioration if not maintained properly.
Certain types of excessive or accelerated deterioration can lead to failure
of the pool’s structure, which may release large quantities of water that
could cause bodily harm, death and property damages.
In order to ensure proper water drainage around the pool, a 2-degree slope
needs to be erected around the perimeter of the pool. THE MANUFACTURER
WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LIABILITY SHOULD THIS
STEP BE OMITTED.
Beforeinstallingyourpool,youshouldchecklocalregulationssuchas
building codes, zoning requirements and electrical codes to determine
whether a building permit or electricity permit is required to install your
pool.Localregulationsmayaskyoutomakesureyourbackyardmeets
set-backrequirements,installgates,barriersorothersafetydevices,or
meet other conditions.
WARNING : All pool components, such as the filtration system, pump
and heater and other objects, should be positioned so that people
cannot use them to gain access to the pool or the deck. Positioning
such objects too close to the pool may allow people access to the
pool while unattended and may cause them serious injury or death.
We strongly recommend having your pool installed by a professional. We
are not responsible for faulty installation of the pool, we are not affiliated
with any pool installer and assume no responsibility or liability for the
purchaser’s or a professional installer’s errors in installing your pool.
NO DIVING, NO JUMPING and PREVENT DROWNINGstickersare
providedwithyourpool.Thesestickersmustbeaffixedtotheinteriorof
the pool above the water line, or any place where the pool users can see
themclearlybeforeenteringthepool.Ifyouneedmorestickersorifsome
are missing, you can order these at www.taigapools.com/contact or by
calling 1 800 448-7384.
Although we do not manufacture pool ladders, every pool must have an
ANSI APPROVED pool ladder for proper entering and exiting of the pool.
The proper use of the pool ladder by pool users is an integral part of general
pool safety (Please refer to your pool ladder safety instructions).
Although we do not manufacture ladders, the proper use of the ladder

NSPI standards require all pools to have an approved ladder attached
for proper access to and from the pool. The purchaser should follow
the pool ladder manufacturer’s installation instructions.
Please follow these rules regarding the use of the ladder:
• Only one person on the ladder at a time.
• The user should face the ladder whether going in or out of the pool.
• NO DIVING or JUMPING from the ladder steps or the ladder’s platform.
• Checkallnutsandboltsregularlytomakesuretheladderissafe.
• Inform others of the rules pertaining to the use of ladder and steps.
For your protection and for the safety of others, we
recommend that lifesaving equipment be on hand
near the pool at all times.
We recommend that you purchase one of the following: A light, strong
andrigidpole,frequentlyreferredtoasaShepard’sCrook,atleasttwelve
feet long or a throwing rope at least ¼ inch in diameter and as long as 1.5
times the maximum width or diameter of your pool. The rope should be
firmly attached to a coast guardapproved buoy with an outside diameter
of approximately 15 inches.

USAGE SAFETY INFORMATION
1•Sharesafetyinstructionswithfamily,friends,poolwatchersorneighbors.
2•Theinstallerofthevinyllinershallaffixontheoriginalorreplacement
liner, or on the pool structure, all safety signs in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instr uctions. The safety labels shall be placed above the
water line.
3•Neverdive,jumporslideintoanabovegroundswimmingpool.Diving,
jumping or sliding may result in permanent injur y or death. Use a pool
ladder or step to enter the pool smoothly, feet first. The owner must follow
the ladder manufacturer ’s instruction and safety warning.
4•Neverswimalone.
5•Don’tenterthepoolifyouhavebeenusingalcoholordrugs,because
your reaction time may be too slow.
6•Adultsupervisionisalwaysnecessary.Nevertakeyoureyesoffchildren
or swimmers in the water or near the pool, not even for a minute. Designate
anadult“poolwatcher”.Makesurethatyouoryourpoolwatcherareable
to intervene in less then 10 seconds to save a life or avoid injury.
7•Ifachildismissing;alwayslookinthepoolfirst.
8•Beproactivetopreventdeathordisability.
9•Thepoolowneror“poolwatcher”shouldlearnCPR(CardioPulmonary
Resuscitation) and should teach children and other people how to swim.
10•Winterorsolarcoversarenotintendedtoactassafetybarriers.The
cover must be completely removed when the pool is in use. A person may
become trapped under a pool cover, which may result in severe bodily
injuries, including death.
11•Keeprescueequipmentsuchasliferingsandreachingpolesetc,by
the pool. Please consult you municipality to get a rescue equipment list.
12•Anemergencyphonenumbersuchas:nearestavailablepolice,fire,
ambulance and/or rescue unit, must be visible from pool area. A functioning
and/or cellular phone must be reachable within 10 seconds.
13•Avoidentrapments.Suctionfromapooldrainorskimmercantrapan
adult or children underwater:
•Haircangetcaughtinfaultydraincover.
•Arms,legsandfingerscanbecomelodgedinasuctionopening.
•Anybodypartthatcancoveradraincancauseinjuries.
•Jewelryorbathingsuitscanbecomeentangledinafaultydraincove.
Apoolwithbroken,loose,missingornoncompliantdraincovershouldbe
considered as dangerous and should not be used.
14•Lighting,wheninstalled,shallbeinconcordancewiththeNational
Electrical Code.
15•Duringnighttimepooluse,artificiallightingmustbeusedtoilluminate
pool,allsafetysigns,ladders,steps,decksurfaceandwalkways.
16•Allelectricalappliancesmustbekeptawayfromthepool,andnotbe
reachable by pool users.
17•Thepooldeckshouldbekeptcleanandclearofobjectstoavoid
trippingorslipping.Thedeckshouldhaveanon-slipsurface.
18•Donotsit,dive,climborstandonthetoprailsofthepool.
19•Itisimportantthatallusersbeabletoseethebottomofthepool.
Foggy water must be cleared up before entering the pool.
20•Stepsandpoolladdersshouldbesecuredandlockedorremoved
when the pool is not in use. Swimming pool barriers or fences with self-
latching and self-closing gates which prohibit children or other people from
gaining access to the pool must be installed around the pool to avoid injury
or death. The latch should be out of reach of children. Consult your
municipality for more details and specifications.
