USING THE TS-9133i TELEPHONE
The TalkSwitch TS-9133i is a full-featured but easy-to-use IP phone. This document briefly describes
how to use the phone. The reference card includes the basic features. See the
TalkSwitch TS-9133i IP

for complete information on using your phone.
Keys
Most of the keys are similar to those on other phones, but you
might not be familiar with the following:
•O— Puts a call on hold.
•l— Allows you to set up a conference call.
•k— Allows you to transfer a call.
•f— The call appearance keys (L1–L3) show the status
of up to three calls to your extension (not lines). Press a flashing
call appearance key to answer a call, retrieve a caller on hold, or
answer call waiting.
• — The programmable keys provide quick access to TalkSwitch
features. The administrator determines which of the keys are
available on each phone. The procedures on this card use the
programmable keys and alternatives in case the key is
unavailable.
Remember
• Dial L(:in some countries) or KA to KK to get an
outside line. This is not required if you have direct line access,
which automatically chooses an outside line.
• Press ?or the TDial key after dialing an outside number
or extension.
• If you have direct line access, dial before dialing a feature
code or extension.
Setting up voicemail
1. Press Voicemail, or dial + ?. If you have direct line
access, dial + ?.
2. When prompted, enter a password, record a greeting and record
your name for the dial-by-name directory.
Calling an outside number
1. Dial L(:in some countries) or KA to KK to get an
outside line. You can also press an available Line Appearance
key to use a specific line. This is not required if you have direct
line access, which automatically chooses an outside line.
2. If prompted, dial an access code.
3. Dial the phone number + ?.
Calling an extension
Dial the extension number + ?. If you have direct line access,
dial first. You can also press an available Extension
Appearance key.
Placing a caller on hold
Press O. You can now hang up the handset or answer another
call without disconnecting the caller.
Retrieving a caller on hold
Press the flashing call appearance key (L1–L3).
Performing a screened transfer
A screened transfer allows the recipient to accept or refuse the
transfer.
1. Press k.
2. Dial the extension or outside number + ?.
3. When the recipient answers, complete or cancel the transfer:
• If the recipient wants the call, press kor hang up.
• If the recipient doesn’t want the call, press TCancel. You can
then retrieve the caller on hold as described above.
Performing a blind transfer
Press k+ extension (or outside number) + k.
Checking voicemail
1. Press Voicemail, or dial + ?. If you have direct line
access, dial + ?.
2. When prompted, enter your password + ?.
3. Press Ato listen to your messages. You can also change your
greeting and personal options.

If Direct Line Access is enabled, you will auto-
matically access an outside line. To place an
intercom call or to access features indicated with

, first dial .
If your softkeys are programmed, follow the first
instruction. If not, follow the alternate instruction.
Access outside line
Lor KA to KK (Americas, UK)
:or KA to KK (other countries)
No hunt group is required if Direct Line Access is enabled.


Conference call Press to put the first party on hold.
Call the second party (for external calls, first access an outside line). Press .

The system will respond with a parking orbit.

Retrieve a parked caller UnPark + <orbit> + UPickup, or + <orbit> + ?

Two-way intercom paging to TalkSwitch phones* Intercom + <extension> + ?,
*not all phones can receive pages or KF + <extension> + UDial

PA overhead paging Overhead Page , or :+ ?

Attach account code to last call At dial tone, KK + ?.
