live. Makesureyou plugyour
routerintothemastersocket
andleaveitturnedon,we’ll be
graduallyadjusting your speed
until it is as fast as possible.
2Location matters
Thecloseryou areto yourrouter,
thebetteryourwirelesssignal
willbe.Ifyourhouseislarge or
hasthickwalls,yourwireless
signal may not reachall the
placesyouwanttouseitin.In
that case,youcanpurchaseour
PowerlineAdapters-they simply
plugintoyour electric sockets
and provide a wired broadband
connectionto your devices,
suchasPCsorgamesconsoles.

3Clean it up to speed it up
The computer you use can
make a big difference to
your speed – so make sure
everything’s up to date and
running smoothly. Update

It’s on the sticker on the outside of this box and in the
letter that came with it. You could go live anytime up
to midnight. So, you might want to set things up in the
evening or wait until the next day.

Use your Super Router
for the best performance.
Grey broadband cable
and microfilter
Needed for a better signal and
service. Check which master
socket you have on pages 8 and 9
to see whether you need to use the
microfilter or not.
Extra microfilter
If you need to use a microfilter
for your master socket, you’ll need
to use this extra one provided for
any other phone sockets around
your home with devices (such as a
phone or fax machine) attached.

Power supply
The new one must be used to
provide power to your router.
Make sure you don’t use an
old power supply from a
previous router.
Makesureyouhaveusedthenewequipmentprovided.Ifanythingismissing,
justgiveusacallon 08700873526 (freefromyourTalkTalklandline) .
Set up guide and wireless password
card
Make sure you keep the card safe in
case you need your wireless network
name and password in the future.
Yellow Ethernet cable
Only required to connect
to the internet through a
wired connection.

2Find
Your master phone socket
This is the main phone socket in
your home - you’ll find it by following
the phone line that comes into your
house from outside. It’s usually a
little larger than a normal phone
socket and often has a horizontal
line in the middle.
If you have a...
standard master socket
You’ll need to use a microfilter
for every socket that has a device
connected to it.
If you can’t find your standard
master socket, simply connect your
Super Router to a convenient phone
socket. Your broadband will still work
but won’t perform as well.

speed and stability.

You won’t need to use microfilters
in your home. Using microfilters on
this type of socket will actually harm
your broadband performance.

3Unplug
Everything from your master phone socket
If you have a phone cable
already inserted
If you have a microfilter
inserted
completely remove it,
and remove any cables
connected to it
temporarily remove it.

4Fit
Your router
1Fit the microfilter with the grey
broadband cable attached into
your master phone socket.
2Fit the phone cable or splitter
that you previously removed into
the port marked phone on the
microfilter.
3Connect the other end of the grey
broadband cable into the grey
port labelled ‘Broadband’ at the
back of your Super Router.

If you have a pre-filtered
master socket...
1Remove the grey broadband
cable we sent you from the
microfilter.
2Fit one end of the grey
broadband cable into the
square slot of your master
phone socket.
3Connect the other end of
the grey broadband cable
into the grey port labelled
‘Broadband’ at the back of
your Super Router.

5Plug in
The power supply
IMPORTANT:
F_gZ\aTaf[\aZceXh\bg_
attached to your old router, like
your YouView box
Make sure you have plugged
your router into the master
socket and leave it turned on,
we’ll be gradually adjustingyour
speeduntilitisasfastas possible
over the next ten days.
4Plug in the power supply at the wall
and connect the other end
to the back of the Super Router.
Turn on the power.
5Press the on/off switch found
at the side of the Super Router.
Now go straight to page 22
to connect your devices
to broadband wirelessly.
Your Super Router set-up
is complete.
6Your line is activated when the
Power, Broadband and Internet
lights go solid green. This can
take a few minutes.

3Remove the grey broadband
cable from your master phone
socket.
4Put the equipment you’ve
unplugged to one side, as you’ll
no longer need it. Once you’ve
set up, simply return the old
equipment to us by requesting a
free returns bag.

Your new Super Router to

6Fit one end of the greybroadband
cable intoyourmasterphone socket.

socket, then remove the microfilters
as you won’t need them.
