A. Safety
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE OPERATING
★ Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with the controls and proper use of the engine.
★ Do not operate this engine when tired, ill, or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
★ Children and teens under the age of 15 must not use the engine.
★ Inspect the engine before use. Replace damaged parts. Check for fuel leaks.
★ Be aware of the risk of injury to the head, hands and feet.
★ Clear the area before each use.
ADDING FUEL
WARNING
Gasoline is highly flammable, and it’s vapors can explode if ignited.
★ Always stop the engine and allow it to cool enough before filling the fuel tank.
★ Add fuel in a clean, well-ventilated area outdoors.
★ If gasoline spilled, wipe it up and let it dry completely before staring the engine .
★ Keep gasoline away from sparks, open flames, heat, and other ignition.
★ Don’t overfill Fuel tank. The Fuel level should be always be one inch below the lowest position of the Fuel
tank neck or half full.
★Always tighten the fuel tank cap firmly.
WHEN OPERATING
★Before starting engine, make sure spark plug, muffler, fuel cap and air cleaner are in place.
★Don’t start engine with spark plug removed.
Before starting engine, you should understand all control parts for emergency stop.
Keep children and pets away from a running engine.
★ Don’t tip engine at angle that causes gasoline to spill.
★ Don’t operate this engine continuously at angles exceeding 15ºin any direction.Engine damage could result
from insufficient lubrication.
★ Don’t place anything near a running engine, it may cause fire.

★ When engine running, the muffler will be extremely hot and it will keep hot for a period of time after engine
stopped. Don’t touch it when muffler is hot, let the engine cool completely before moving or storing it.
★ Engine gives off carbon monoxide which is a dangerous gas that can cause nausea and even death. Operating
engine only outdoors.
★ Keep hands and feet away from engine rotating parts.
★ Don’t wear loose clothing, jewelry, short pants, sandals or go barefoot. Secure hair above shoulder level.
★ Wear safety glasses, and ear/hearing protection , when operating engine.
★ Do not smoke.
★ This engine is equipped with a mandated mechanism which stops the engine.Do not interfere with or bypass
this mechanism.Parts of the mechanism may be subject to wear and must be checked once a year for proper
operation.In the event the mechanism fails for any reason, you must not use the engine until it has been
properly repaired.

SYMBOL DEFINITION
Indicates Warning, Danger, and Caution.
Read all Safety, Operating and Maintenance Instructions before running engine.
Always use clean, fresh unleaded fuel.
Refer to User’s manual for the proper type of oil.
Push primer bulb, fully and slowly, 3 times.
Do not touch a hot muffler or cylinder. You may get burned. These parts get extremely
hot from operation. When turned off they remain hot for a short time. Allow to cool before
touching.
Engines emit carbon monoxide. Do NOT run in enclosed area.
Gasoline is flammable. Allow engine to cool before refueling.

Oil Capacity
The engine holds approximately 0.38 L
1. Check oil level
WARNING
★ Running engine without oil will damage your engine seriously.
★ When checking oil, turn engine OFF and place it level.
a. Remove dipstick and wipe clean it with cloth.
b. Replace dipstick and do NOT screw it. Remove and check oil level.
c. Oil level should be at upper limit mark on dipstick. If the oil level is near or below the lower limit mark on
the dipstick, add oil slowly and recheck until oil level reaches upper limit of dipstick. Do not overfill.
d. Replace and tighten dipstick.
WARNING
Using dirty oil or incorrect type of oil such as two-stroke engine oil will shorten engine useful life.

2. Fuel
Fuel Information
Type of Fuel to Use
★ This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline with a minimum of 77 octane. Fresh fuel prevents
gum from forming in the fuel system. Purchase fuel in quantity that can be used within 30 days.
★ Do NOT mix oil with gasoline.
★ Keep dust, rubbish and water away from fuel tank.

WARNING
★ Gasoline is extremely flammable; it will explode under certain conditions.
★ Turn engine OFF and let engine cool before removing gas tank cap. Never add fuel to engine
indoors.Add fuel only in well-ventilated place. Keep gasoline from sparks, open flames, heat and
other ignition sources.
★ Don’t overfill fuel. The fuel level should be always 1 inch below the lowest position of the fuel tank
neck. Wipe away any fuel spillage from engine and unit before starting engine.
★ Check fuel lines, tank, cap and fittings frequently for cracks or leaks. Replace if necessary.
★ Avoid your skin contact with gasoline.
★ Keep gasoline away from children
★ Do not smoke.

Add fuel:
a. Remove fuel tank cap.
b. Place spout of gasoline container into the fill hole on the fuel tank and fill tank.Do not over fill.
c. Wipe up any gasoline that may have spilled.
d. Reinstall the fuel tank cap.

D. To Start Engine
WARNING
★ Never run engine indoors or in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas. Engine exhaust contains carbon
monoxide,an odorless and deadly gas.
★ Keep hands, feet, hair and loose clothing away from moving parts or engine and equipment.
★ Temperature of muffler and nearby areas may exceed 150ºF(66℃). Avoid these areas.
1. Set the engine control to the “CHOKE” position.
2. Turn the fuel tap to the “ON” position.
3. Start engine
Grasp rope handle. Pull slowly until you can feel drag against you, and then pull rapidly.
4. When engine has warmed up for a short time move the engine control lever to the desired speed position
for cutting.
CAUTION:
Don’t release rope handle suddenly and rebound it back to hit engine. The correct way is release rope
handle smoothly.

E. To Stop Engine
1.Pull the trigger of the speed contral assembly to the “stop” position as shown by arrow,engine can stop.

2. After engine is stopped
Never store engine with fuel in tank indoors or in enclosed,poorly ventilated areas,where fuel fumes
may reach on open flame,spark or pilot light as on a furnace,water heater,clothes drier or other gas
appliance.

F. Maintenance
WARNING
★ Priors to any maintenance, stop engine and switch it off first.
★ Disconnect spark plug wire from the spark plug to prevent unintentional engine starting.
★ Move the spark plug wire away from the engine because unintentional sparking can result in
fire.
★ Unintentional start-up can result in entanglement, traumatic amputation, or laceration.
★ Do not smoke.
CAUTION:
□Stay away from muffler and nearby areas.
□ Check engine and unit often for loose nuts,bolts and attachments and keep tightened.
□ Use only genuine replacement engine parts. Other parts may not perform as well, may damage the
engine, and may result in injury. In addition, use of other parts may void your warranty rights.
Regular maintenance will improve the performance and extend the life of the engine. Please follow the
instructions and schedules indicated below:

CAUTION:
☆ Drain engine oil and change it after first 5-8hours of operation and every 50 hours or three
months after that. It is also a highly recommendation to change oil every 25 hours under heavy
load or in high temperature.
☆ ☆Clean air cleaner more frequently under dusty conditions or when airborne debris is present.
Replace of air cleaner element if it is very dirty.
1. Above Deck Oil Change
a. Run engine until it runs out of fuel, and engine has stopped and cooled slightly..
b. Remove spark plug wire from spark plug and keep spark plug wire away from spark plug.
c. Place 12mm (inside diameter) tube onto outlet of above deck oil change tap.
d. Push and turn tap to allow oil to flow.
e. Ensure oil is drained into a suitable container for proper disposal.
f. Place engine on level area. Remove dipstick .Add about 0.38 liter new recommended oil slowly to
upper limit on dipstick (see page 6).Don’t overfill.
g. Replace dipstick.
Note: To ensure full drainage of oil sump it may be necessary to prop up the wheels on the opposite side of
mower so that the engine is tilted towards the outlet.

CAUTION:
Used oil is a hazardous waste product. We suggest you put used oil in a sealed container and send to
your local recycling center. Do not discard with household waste.
2. Air cleaner maintenance
A dirty air filter will increase air intake restriction. Periodic maintenance of air cleaner will help to improve
engine performance and reduce emissions.
WARNING
Never clean air filter with gasoline or an easily ignited solvent . It may cause explosion.
CAUTION:
Operating the engine without an air filter or with a damaged air filter, will allow dirt to enter the
engine, causing rapid engine wear. This type of damage is not covered by the Distributor.
To replace high intake paper air filter:
a. Remove air filter housing cover by turning anticlockwise.
b. Remove old paper filer and dispose of properly.
c. Insert new filter into housing so that the end with the opening fits over the lower housing tube.
d. Replace cover.Ensure cover is locked in place.

3. Spark plug
Recommended Spark plug: F6RTC
WARNING
Do NOT use an improper heat range spark plug.
Stop the engine and allow it to cool
a. Remov spark plug with a spark plug wrench.
b. Inspect the spark plug visually. If spark plug is worn,dirtyor has cracks,replace it with the recommended
type and heat range.
c. The correct gap is 0.70 to 0.80 mm (0.028 to 0.031 in.).
d. Install the spark plug.
e. Tighten to 20-30N.m(180-260 lb.in).
WARNING
Improperly tighten spark plug may result in engine extremely hot that will damage engine.

G. Transporting and Storage
WARNING
Transport engine with fuel tank EMPTY, fuel or fuel vapor may result in fire.
When storing engine for more than 30 days:
1. Store in a dry and clean area.
2. Run engine until fuel tank is empty and engine stops or add gasoline preservative.Run engine for several
minutes after adding to circulate preservative.
WARNING
Gasoline is flammable. Fuel or fuel vapors may explode. Keep sparks and open flames from the working
area.
3. Change engine lubrication oil. (see Page 12)
4. Remove spark plug; pour one soupspoon of fresh engine oil into cylinder. Reinstall spark plug but do not
attach spark plug wire. Pull starter rope slowly several times to distribute the oil in the engine.
5. Slowly pull starter rope until feels force against you. Stop pulling. At that point, valves are closed, that will
prevent dust and rust from entering cylinder.
