PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
The Tara Laser 2 automated pool measuring system gives you precise accurate measurements quickly
and with less setup. Unlike tradional methods of measuring pools, the Tara Laser 2 is fast, reliable and
incredibly accurate. The system is simple and eecve. Whether you are an experienced pool professional
or a novice, you can gather all the measurements you need in a maer of minutes. The Tara Laser 2 delivers
the most detailed measurements possible. Eliminate the hassle of traveling back and forth to the job site for
more measurements. A quick scan by the Tara Laser, will provide Tara Mfg with all the informaon we need
to create a liner that ts like a glove.

SAFE OPERATING PROCEDURES
1. DO NOT look into the laser beam and DO NOT unnecessarily aim at other persons.
2. DO NOT open the unit. Doing so, will void the warranty and requires the unit to be returned to Tara Manufacturing for
recalibraon.
3. No user serviceable parts inside.
4. As this is a precision instrument, it should be transported and carried in its case and handled with care at all mes.
5. DO NOT immerse the device in water or other uids.
6. Wipe o dirt and smudges with a damp ssue or so, clean, lint-free coon cloth.
7. DO NOT use aggressive cleaning agents or soluons.
8. Whenever possible, store the device in a dry, shady locaon.
USE
1. Measuring Condions
(a) The opmal measuring condion is in the morning or evening and if the walls
of the pool are in shadow.
(b) Measuring errors can occur when the target surface reects too intensely
(e.g. a mirror) or insuciently (e.g. black fabric), or the ambient light is too bright.
2. Device Preparaon
(a) Charge Laser before use.
(b) Aach Laser to tripod and place near the center of the pool.
(c) Try to locate a spot where the laser will be as perpendicular as possible to all the
walls of the pool. Ex.1
(d) Verify all sides of the pool wall are visible from the laser locaon.
(e) Using a bubble level on the top of the laser unit adjust the tripod so that the laser
device is level.
(f) Laser can experience interference from reecons on the walls of the pool.
It is best to use the laser when the sun is low or the sky is overcast.

3. Pool Preparaon
(a) Drain pool and remove liner and any material aached to pool wall.
(b) Coat the pool wall with neutral reecve surface (laser spray). Ex. 2
(c) Idenfy break lines and place triangle markers at these break points.
5. Prior to Scanning
(a) Before running the laser, nd your manual pool measurements. Manually measure the shallow
end and deep end depths, side walls, back walls and any other features.
(b) Record all measurements on the Tara Laser 2 order form and ll out the form completely. Ex. 3
Download Tara Laser 2 order form at www.taraliners.com/forms.
(c) Take a physical measurement, of the shallow end break, using a tape measure and record this
measurement on the order form.
4. Scanning the Pool
(a) Turn Laser power switch on. Ex. 4
(b) Start the Tara Laser 2 App on the iPad.
(c) In the App press the Connect buon.
(d) In the App press the Level buon. The laser will rotate 90° and stop. Check to make
sure the lasers are equal on each side of the pool.
(e) Repeat this to make sure that it is level in the lasers are level for the front and back
of the pool.
(f) Force quit the App
(g) Then restart the App and press the Connect buon again
(h) Press the Add Photo buon and take a picture of your manual measurements. Ex. 5
(i) Scan either Fast or Slow. The iPad display will change from the Control Screen to
begin showing the pool perimeter Ex. 4. A fast scan will be nished in 3.5 min and
record up to 1000 points. A slow scan will take 5 min 40 sec and record 1800 points.
(j) When the scan is complete then press the Send Data buon. An Email will open.
Add any addional informaon and Send the email.
(k) Power down the Laser. The iPad will send the email when it connects to the
internet again.

LIMITED WARRANTY AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Each Tara Laser 2 is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. The warranty period is up to and including 90 days from the receipt of shipment. Parts, product
repairs, and services are warranted for 90 days. This warranty extends only to the original buyer or end-user customer of a Tara Laser 2 authorized reseller, and does not apply to fuses, disposable baeries, or to
any product which, in Tara Manufacturing’s opinion, has been misused, altered, neglected, contaminated, or damaged by accident or abnormal condions of operaon or handling. Tara Manufacturing warrants that
soware will operate substanally in accordance with its funconal specicaons for 90 days and that it has been properly recorded on non-defecve media. Tara Manufacturing does not warrant that soware will
be error free or operate without interrupon. Tara Manufacturing’s warranty obligaon is limited, at Tara Manufacturing’s opon, to refund of the purchase price, free of charge repair, or replacement of a defecve
product which is returned to a Tara Manufacturing within the warranty period. To obtain warranty service, contact Tara Manufacturing (2294 Old 431 Hwy., Owens Cross Roads, AL, 256-725-2500) to obtain return
authorizaon informaon. Then send the product as instructed, with a descripon of the diculty, postage and insurance prepaid (FOB Desnaon). Tara Manufacturing assumes no risk for damage in transit. Follow-
ing warranty repair, the product will be returned to Buyer, transportaon prepaid (FOB Desnaon). If Tara Manufacturing determines that failure was caused by neglect, misuse, contaminaon, alteraon, accident, or
abnormal condion of operaon or handling, including overvoltage failures caused by use outside the product’s specied rang, or normal wear and tear of mechanical components, Tara Manufacturing will provide an
esmate of repair costs and obtain authorizaon before commencing the work. Following repair, the product will be returned to the Buyer transportaon prepaid and the Buyer will be billed for the repair and return
transportaon charges (FOB Shipping Point).
THIS WARRANTY IS BUYER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MER-
CHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TARA MANUFACTURING SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES, INCLUD-
ING LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM ANY CAUSE OR THEORY. Since some countries or states do not allow limitaon of the term of an implied warranty, or exclusion or limitaon of incidental or consequenal
damages, the limitaons and exclusions of this warranty may not apply to every buyer. If any provision of this Warranty is held invalid or unenforceable by a court or other decision-maker of competent jurisdicon,
such holding will not aect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Laser stops in the middle of a measurement: Somemes the laser will pause for a second to calibrate. Allow it
5 - 10 seconds to complete the calibraon process.
Laser stops and won’t connue for longer than 10 seconds: A strong glare from the pool walls, can inter-
fere with the laser and cause it to freeze. Try shading the wall of the pool where the laser is measuring. If this doesn’t work wait to
measure the pool when condions are not as bright.
Laser device can not connect to App: The laser connects via Bluetooth signal to an iPad or iPhone. If the distance
between the laser and the iPad or iPhone is too great it will loose signal. Try moving the iPad or iPhone closer to the laser.
Sharp spikes on the diagram display: The surface is too bright or reecve and is interfering with the laser.
For all other issues call Technical Support, 256-725-2500. Never aempt to open the case
of the laser!
LASER CLASSIFICATION
The Tara Laser 2 generates a visible laser beam that is emied from the front of the device. The device complies with laser class 2
according to:

Do not look into the laser beam and do not unnecessarily aim at other persons. The eye is usually protected by prevenve reac-
ons such as the eyelid closure reex.

* Under favorable condions (good target surface, room temperature) up to 10 m (33). Under unfavorable condions such as
bright sunlight, a weakly reecng target surface or large temperature uctuaons, the deviaon can rise causing errors or shut-
down of the unit.
