Safety instructions
General safety regulations
!
Attention! Mounting, installation, commissioning and repair of electronic devices have
to be carried out only by qualified electricians. Thus, the current standards and instruc-
tions for the installation of door communication systems have to be observed.
When working on systems with a main connection of 230 V alternating voltage, the safety
regulations according to DIN VDE 0100 must be observed.
When installing TCS:BUS systems, the general safety regulations for telecommunication
systems according to VDE 0800 must be observed. Inter alia:
separated conduit of heavy and low current lines,
minimum distance of 10 cm in case of a common conduit,
use of separators between heavy and low current lines within shared cable ducts,
use of standard communication lines, e.g. J-Y (St) Y with a diameter of 0.8 mm,
existing lines (modernisation) with deviating cross-sections can be used in compliance
with the loop resistance.
Installation –protective measures

With suitable measures to protect against lightning, it has to be ensured that a voltage
of each 32 V DC is not exceeded at the connections a, b, P, E.
Intended use
The FIL1101 is a signal unit for the TCS:BUS.
The FIL1101 can be allocated parallel to indoor station(s) (necessary for announcement
function indoor station or central).
Three or more devices connected in parallel must all be supplied by the P-wire
(3-wire operation).

Assembly and installation
Install the lower cover
Install the lower cover at least via
three attachment holes and suitable
screws to the wall.
TIP
As the space for cabling in the FIL1101 is lim-
ited, it can also be installed on a wall outlet one
gang box.

above the lower cover in order to
place the lines without any prob-
lems and to prevent clamping the
lines when snapping on the up-
per cover.
Loosen the screws of the con-
nection terminal and connect the
lines according to the labelling.
Note: Wires can be placed next to the printed
circuit board. .
Settings for 2-wire technique
Ex works, the FIL1101 is set for
3-wire technique (J1 placed on

Snap on the upper cover
1. Put the upper cover to both adjustment
increments at the lower cover (1).
2. Snap on the upper cover (2).
Open the device
3. There is s a release opening at the under-
side of the device. Insert a screw driver
with ca. 7 mm width carefully, straight and
with slight pressure into the opening.
4. The upper cover can be removed from the
underside (1).
5. Remove the upper cover from both ad-
justment increments (2).

Attention! When loading the factory settings, the master code and all settings set by
the user will be lost.
To press the push-button factory setting, use a suitable tool e.g. small screwdriver, wire
or the like.

Programming with IR remote control
Important notes
The programming must always be initiated and terminated resp. is terminated by the
device.
When the input is correct, a positive acknowledgement tone ( ) sounds.
If the entry of an instruction sequence ( …… ) is interrupted for 8 seconds,
the whole instruction sequence is rejected, a negative acknowledgement tone ( )
sounds.
If the entered instruction sequence does not correspond to the given syntax, or if too

many parameters have been entered, the whole instruction sequence will also be re-
jected, a negative acknowledgement tone sounds.
When operating the IR remote control always point it with the head towards the device.
The range of the IR remote control is max. 1 m direct line.
Every keystroke at the IR remote control is acknowledged by the FIL1101 with a brief
button acknowledgement tone ( ).
ATTENTION! Change master code
Anybody who has the enclosed IR remote control can set the programming at every device
with the factory setting master code. For safety reasons, the preset master code should be
changed when commissioning!

If the ring tone output is switched off, the red
LED goes OFF with the first keystroke (entry:

for 2 minutes, then goes off again.
Start from the beginning.
If for 2 minutes, no command has been en-
tered, the device automatically terminates the
programming mode, the red LED goes off.
