Safety Instructions
This appliance can be used by:-
• children aged from eight years and above
• persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities
• persons with lack of experience and knowledge
if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children without supervision.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified
persons, in order to avoid a hazard.
Your TEAL hand wash pack contents
• 1 x TEAL HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH
• 1 x Tube of 1.8g Haz-Tabs chlorine tablets
(sufficient for one week disinfection)
• 1 x PAT Test certificate attached to body of unit
• 1 x COSHH Sheet for Haz-Tabs chlorine tablets
Your TEAL HMW230 has been disinfected both
internally and externally before being labelled and
packed in box.
Fit your own liquid soap and
paper towel dispensers
The TEAL HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH Backboard is
made to take all types of liquid soap and paper towel
dispensers.
These can be attached by means of their adhesive
backing or screw fixings.
Customer Responsibility
DAILY disinfection and clean is VITAL to ensure that
your TEAL HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH delivers the
highest quality wash possible.
Please refer to pages 6 & 7 “Cleaning and Maintenance”
for full details.
To enable you to record your disinfection routine
please sign and date the disinfection register at rear
of the HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH (shown below).
The Hand Wash unit is rated at 230VAC 13 amps.
Please ensure that your electrical supply is rated
accordingly.
IMPORTANT Please retain all packaging to re-use
for collection at the end of the hire period.

To initiate the 45 second Automatic Hot Wash:-
To wet your hands, place beneath
the spray head – 3 seconds
Apply liquid soap while water
delivery is OFF – 20 seconds
(1) Rub hands palm to palm
(2) Rub back of each hand with palm
of other hand with ngers interlaced
(3) Rub palm to palm with ngers
interlaced
(4) Rub with back of ngers to
opposing palms with ngers
interlocked
(5) Rub each thumb clasped in
opposite hand using a rotational
movement
(6) Rub tips of ngers in opposite palm
in a circluar motion
(7) Rub each wrist with opposite hand
Hot water delivery for a thorough
rinse – 10 seconds
To reset – remove hands from bowl –
10 seconds
Dry hands thoroughly with a
single use towel
• Place your hands beneath the spray head to
activate – the Bluesensor will ash.
• 3 Seconds of water delivery to wet your hands –
Apply liquid soap.
• Water delivery will pause for 20 seconds while
you apply:- 7 Scrubbing Actions
• Hot water delivery for 20 seconds allow a
thorough rinse
• After a further 10 seconds – the wash
programme will reset – the Bluesensor will
light up again.

HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH provides hands free hot water hand
wash without the need for external plumbing or drainage. It’s
entirely self-contained with both the fresh and the wastewater
contained in the twin bag TEALtainer III™.
Each heavy-duty polyethylene bag holds 10 litres of water.
When the fresh water is used up, the waste bag is full. The TEAL
HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH provides up to 40 complete wash
cycles per filling of the Twin Bag TEALtainer III™.
Please note: The TEAL HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH is fully automatic in
operation. There is nothing to adjust. Both the water temperature of
approximately 30°/40°C and the wash programme are factory set.
Unpacking
Check for any damage and retain the packaging.
Notify TEAL immediately if any damage is discovered.
Set up
• Fit your own liquid soap dispenser (5) on the backboard (3)
and put soap in
• Fit your own paper towel dispenser (4) on the backboard
(3) and fill up with towel and put 7 steps handwashing
sticker on the towel dispenser (1).
• Disconnect the Twin Bag TEALtainer III™ (6) from the fresh
water pick up pipe (8) and remove from unit.
• Unscrew the white cap (15) and fill the fresh water bag
from the cold tap to just below the filler cap.
• Refit the white cap (15).
• Return the Twin Bag TEALtainer III™ to left hand side into
the TEAL HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH and reconnect the fresh
water delivery pipe (8) and make sure that the waste pipe
(13) is inserted into the red waste cap hole.
• Fit the 13-amp plug into a suitable 230v mains socket outlet
and switch the unit on by means of the ON/OFF switch (12)
located on the rear of the unit.
• The unit will automatically operate a 10 second cold-water
purge and on the completion of the purge cycle the
Bluesensor ready light will come on (2).
The TEAL HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH is now ready for use.
DAILY cleaning instructions
Before any maintenance, turn off with the switch at rear of unit
(12), disconnect your TEAL HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH from the
power supply by removing the 13-amp plug from the socket.
Disconnect the TEALtainer III™ in use (8) and empty both
TEALtainers™ (6) completely – dispose of contents to a foul
water drain or sluice.
Flush out both wastewater compartments (Red Cap) (16) and
replenish both fresh water compartments (White Cap) (15) with
cold water.
Replace both TEALtainers™ in the base of the TEAL HYGIENIUS™
MEDIWASH and reconnect the one on the left hand side.
Replace plug; switch on at back panel (12). A 10 second cold-
water purge runs automatically.
The TEAL Stop n’Wash is now ready for use.
DAILY disinfection using the
following simple routine
Remove both TEALtainers™ (6) and empty completely.
Refill the fresh water compartments and add suitable
chlorine disinfection tablet to each and create a solution
of 500ppm.
Reconnect the TEALtainer™ and use the Blue Purge Button
(11) to run the decontamination programme.
This will run automatically for 5 min. Ensure that both
TEALtainers™ (6) are decontaminated in your maintenance
programme.
Empty the TEALtainers™ and rinse thoroughly with fresh
water. Refill fresh water compartments, reconnect left
TEALtainer™ and your TEAL HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH is
ready for use.

To replace the waste water bag
1. Remove the fresh water bag as above.
2. Unscrew the red cap and push the bag back into the
TEALtainer™.
3. Pull the waste bag out through the larger fresh water
opening.
4. For refitting, reserve this procedure.
Storage
Before returning to TEAL or placing in storage: -
5. Operate the purge button until water flow stops and press
purge button to stop running.
6. Empty the TEALtainer™ completely, clean and wipe down.
7. Carry out disinfection routine.
8. Ensure that the unit is kept free from frost

1. The left side TEALtainer™ is in use and the right TEALtainer™
is the spare water container.
2. When the left side TEALtainer™ ‘s fresh water is empty and
the waste water full, replace immediately with right side
TEALtainer that contains fresh water to ensure the TEAL
HYGIENIUS™ MEDIWASH operates without disruption.
3. Empty the TEALtainer waste water into the main drain or
sluice and refill with fresh water in white cap and put back
into unit on the right side, ready to replace immediately
when the left hand TEALtainer™ is full.
Each TEALtainer™ contains up to 40 hot washes per filling.
Replacement of TEALtainer™ bags
Replacement waste and fresh water bags can be purchased only
from TEAL. Do not use any substitutes.
Waste bag; WB sold in pairs.
Fresh water bag assembly: FB complete with white collar.
To replace the fresh water bag
1. Disconnect the unit, remove the TEALtainer III™ and dispose
of all the water to a sluice or foul water drain.
2. Pull on the white cap and ease the bag through the
opening.
3. Then unscrew the cap making sure that the dip pipe and
filter are protected from any contamination.
4. To refit new bag reverse the procedure.
