2 General
The SkyFunk 4 system serves to provide wireless transmissi-
on of video and stereo audio signals. To do this, the video
and audio signals of one or two sources (e.g. a satellite
receiver or a video recorder) are converted by the transmitter
to a frequency of approx. 2,4 GHz, and transmitted to the
SkyFunk receiver. This again converts the signals into nor-
mal video and audio signals, which can then be reproduced
via the Scart socket of a television set. If your television set
is not equipped with a Scart socket, you can purchase an
external modulator, available in the trade, and receive the
signal via the HF input of your television set.
In the same manner, the control signals of the existing remo-
te control are converted at the receiver end into the return
channel frequency of 434 MHz, and transmitted to the signal
source, thus allowing you to control the picture/signal source
(e.g. a satellite receiver or video recorder).
4 channels are available for the transmission of audio, video
and remote control signals, these can be set by means of
DIP switches located on the SkyFunk 4 units.
Please note that a transmitter and receiver pair
must always be operated on the same AV and IR
channels (Channel 1-4) - see Point 5.1 and 5.2.

CCeeeeeConnecting the
> Connect the cinch connec-
tor of the Scart-cinch adapter cable marked Sender
with the SkyFunk 4 transmitter. Please ensure that
jacks and sockets of the same colour are connected
with each other.
> Connect the Scart connector of the adapter cable
marked Sender with the Scart socket of the 1.
video/audio source the signals of which you wish to
transmit (send).
> Proceed in the same manner to connect the 2nd
video/audio source with the SkyFunk 4 sender/trans-
mitter.
> Connect the IR extension with the IR socket of the
SkyFunk 4 transmitter. The IR extension shoukd
be placed so that there is a direct line of sight with the
IR window of the video source (usually located near
the display of most appliances). This is essential to
ensure error-free transmission of the remote control
signals.
> When you have completed establishing the above-
mentioned connections, connect the mains adapter
supplied with the DC input socket of the SkyFunk 4
transmitter.

> Connect the cinch connector of the Scart-cinch adap-
ter cable supplied marked Receiver with the Sky-
Funk 4 receiver.
Please ensure that jacks and sockets of the same
colour are connected with each other.
> The SkyFunk receiver should be positioned so that
the red IR sensor has a direct line of sight to the
remote control. This is essential to ensure the remote
control signals will be transmitted correctly.
> When you have completed establishing the above-
mentioned connections, connect the mains adapter
unit supplied with the DC input socket of the SkyFunk
4
receiver.
> Connect the Scart connector of the adapter cable
marked receiver with the Scart socket of your televi-
sion set. You can now view the signals of the SkyFunk
4 receiver on your AV programme slot.
4 Setting up the units
4.1 General
Please note the following when setting up the units:
> It is usually best to place the units 1-2 m above floor
level.
> To avoid the units being damaged when falling to the
ground, ensure the units are placed on an even hori-
zontal surface.
> Try to avoid placing any other electrical appliances,
which may affect the signal, between the transmitter
and the receiver units.

> Check and ensure that both units (transmitter and
receiver) are set to the same AV and IR channel (see
Point 5.1 and 5.2).
4.2 Sender/transmitter
Place the transmitter unit, connected as per Chapter 3, close
to the signal sources. Position the IR extension in such a way
that there is a direct line of sight with the IR window of the
signal source.
4.3 Receiver
Place the receiver unit, connected as per Chapter 3, close to
the output equipment (e.g. television set). Position the recei-
ver in such a way that the red IR window is visible from the
location from which you wish to control the signal source.
4.4 Positioning the units
To ensure the best transmission and reception performance
possible, both units have built-in directional antennae. In
order to optimise the transmission quality, it may be advisable
to adjust the position of the units, and their relative positions
to one another.
If reception is still not satisfactory, check whether reception is
improved on an alternative channel.
5 Operation
Once you have completed all the above points, your
SkyFunk 4 is ready for use.
> Switch on both units, using the mains (Power) switch
on the back panel of each unit.
> Keep the key On/Standby/Source selection
pressed down to switch the unit on, resp. into stand-
by mode.
> Briefly press down the key On/Standby/Source
selection to switch between Source 1 and Sour-
ce 2 respectively.

5.1 Setting the transmission and reception
channel for audio and video signals
(AV channel)
To change the transmission or reception channel, set the
desired channel on both units (transmitter and receiver). The
switches used to select the channel are located on the under-
side of the units. In order, for instance, to select Channel 2,
use a pointed object (e.g. ball-point pen, small screwdriver,
etc.) to set switch 2 to „On“ as per the illustration shown
here. The other switches should remain in the „Off“ position.
To select a different transmission channel, please proceed
accordingly.
Please ensure that both the transmitter and the
receiver are set to the same channel.
5.2 Setting the transmission and reception
channel for the infra-red signals (IR chan-
nel)
The switches used to set the IR channel are located on the
underside of the units. In order, for instance, to set Chan-
nel 1, use a pointed object (e.g. ball-point pen, small scr-
ewdriver, etc.), set switch 1 to „On“ as per the illustration
shown here. The other switches should remain in the „Off“
position. To select a different transmisison channel, please
proceed accordingly.
Please ensure that both transmitter and receiver
are set to the same switch position.

5.3 Reflection of IR signals
The IR-reflect function of the transmitter means the IR signals
are reflected by walls and furniture in such a way that you
can control the AV sources by remote control. Ideally, ensure
there is a distance of around 5 m between the transmitter and
a reflecting surface, e.g. a wall.
If reflection of IR signals is not possible due to the size and
shape of the room, please use the IR extension, as described
in Point 3.

- Interference with signals on transmission channel selected.
Solution: select another transmission channel.
- There may be a microwave oven switched on close by, this
can cause interference.
- Distance between transmitter and receiver too great.
