Sand the pipe, first grade 80-120 and
then finely grade 180-400)
2. access the pipe
Make sure that the pipe meets the
following criteria:
• no corrosion or pitting;
• no lettering or engraving;
• no lenghtwise scratches or grooves

Check the external diameter of the pipe
with the gage

Cut the pipe as squarely as possible
(< 5 degrees)
3. prepare the pipe
Deburr the end of the pipe
3.3
Use the Go-NoGo gauge to check the
squareness of the cut. The bevel angle
of the pipe must fall within the 5° tolerance

Mark the "inspect" and "install" areas
on both sides of the pipe

Twist and remove the protective caps
of the hydraulic hose
5. prepare the Lokring tool
5.2
Connect the hydraulic hose to the
pump and the Lokring tool
5.3
Tighten the retainer rings manually
Slide the Lokring fitting over the pipe.
Check the "install" mark
6. put the Lokring fitting in place

Place the Lokring tool over the Lokring
fitting

Check that the assembly has met the
following criteria:
• the driver is completely up against the
body of the fitting;
• the Lokring fitting is at the "inspect"
mark;
• the end of the Lokring fitting's body
protrudes from underneath the drive

Place the insert blocks in the Lokring
tool and fix them in position
7.3
Note: keep out of the line of fire!
Pump until the driver of the Lokring
fitting touches the body

disassembly
9.1
Release the pressure from the Lokring tool
and remove it until the jaws have retracted
to the original position. Remove the insert
blocks
9. dismantle the Lokring tool
9.2
Remove the Lokring tool
9.3
Use the JRT if necessary to push the jaws
back to the original position
10.1
Undo the retaining rings
10. disconnect the hydraulic hose
10.2
Disconnect the hydraulic hose from the
Lokring tool and the hydraulic pump.
Press the protective caps firmly in place
11.1
Clean the Lokring tool if necessary
and stow all the part back in the case
11. stow the Lokring tool
back in the case
