• Any connection error will invalidate yo r

• Given the diverse standards in effect, if the
appliance is sed in a co ntry other than
that in which it is p rchased, have it
checked by an Approved Service Centre.
• Do not se an extension lead. If yo accept
liability for doing so, only se an extension
lead which is in good condition, has a pl g
with an earth connection and is s ited to
the power rating of the appliance.

sing an external time-switch or a separate
remote control system.

plate while the coffee maker is in operation.

completely before yo clean and store it.
• Never insert yo r hand inside the thermal
pot.

their lids.
• Do not se the the j g or thermal pot on a
flame or electric hob.
• Do not p t water into the appliance when
it is still warm.
• Always close the lid (a) when the coffee
maker is in operation.
• All appliances are s bject to rigoro s
q ality inspection. Practical tests sing
appliances taken at random are cond cted
and this may explain any possible traces of
se.
• The glass j g witho t a metal part is
microwave and dishwasher safe
(ATTENTION: the thermal pot m st not be
placed in the microwave or dishwasher).
• The power cord m st never be close to or in
contact with hot parts of the appliance,
close to a so rce of heat or resting on sharp
edges.
• Never place the appliance close to a wall or
below a wall c pboard. The steam co ld
ca se damage.
• Never place the appliance below or close to
easily inflammable objects (e.g. c rtains,
etc.).
• After switching on yo r coffee maker, never
p t yo r hand on the warming plate when
yo are removing the j g from the coffee
maker. While in operation, this plate has a
very high temperat re, which co ld ca se
b rns.
Before using for the first time
• Use yo r filter coffee maker witho t coffee
the first time sing the eq ivalent of a j g
of water to rinse yo r coffee maker.
Preparing the coffee
(Follow figures 1 to 9)
• Use only cold water and filter paper n°2 or
4 (fig. ) or the permanent filter* (fig.4).
• Do not exceed the maxim m q antity of
water indicated by the water level on the
tank.
• This coffee maker has a drip stop so that

yo can serve coffee before the end of the
cycle. Once yo r coffee is served, replace
the j g or thermal pot* to prevent
overflowing.
• Gro nd Coffee: Use one meas ring spoon
of gro nd coffee per large c p.
• Wait a few min tes before making a
second pot of coffee.
• Do not make another pot of coffee if the
j g already contains coffee.
Thermal pot*
• Do not se the thermal pot witho t its lid.
• The thermal pot lid m st be closed tightly
all the way to the right to prepare the
coffee and keep it warm.
• To serve the coffee, press the lever on the
lid of the thermal pot downwards or
nscrew the lid half a t rn to the left*.
• Do not p t yo r thermal pot in the
microwave or dishwasher.
• Rinse the thermal pot in hot water before
sing so that it retains heat better and do
not p t it back inside the coffee maker
after yo have prepared the coffee.
• The thermal pot keeps yo r coffee warm
for fo r ho rs maxim m.
Aroma selector* (see figure n°7)
• The aroma selector (fig.7) allows yo to
adj st the intensity of the coffee.
• For a stronger coffee, t rn the aroma
selector to the black c p.
Reheating the coffee
• Do not p t the glass j g into the
microwave if it has a metallic part (e.g.:
metal band).
Cleaning
• To dispose of the sed coffee gro nds,
remove the filter paper (fig. ) or
permanent filter* (fig.4).
• Unpl g and let the coffee maker cool
down.
• Clean with a cloth or wet sponge.
• Do not clean the appliance when it is still
hot.
• Never immerse the appliance, the power
cord or pl g in water or any other liq id.
Dishwasher:
• The removable filter holder is dishwasher
safe.
• Only glass j gs witho t a metal band can
be placed in the dishwasher (witho t lid).
Thermal jug*
• Do not clean with abrasive cleaning
prod cts.
• Do not p t yo r hand inside to clean (risk
of breaks).
• To clean yo r Thermal j g, fill it with soapy
water and then rinse o t thoro ghly.
• In cases where the j g becomes very
stained by the coffee, fill it with l kewarm
water, add a dishwasher detergent tablet
and let it soak. Afterwards, rinse o t
thoro ghly.
Descaling
• Descale yo r coffee maker every 40 ses.
Yo can se:
- a sachet of descaling agent dil ted in
two large c ps of water;
- or two large c ps of commercially
available white vinegar.
• Po r into the tank (b) and t rn on the
coffee maker (witho t coffee).
• Allow the eq ivalent of one c p flow into
the j g or thermal pot (f) then stop yo r
coffee maker (yo will have to t rn off the
coffee maker on some a tomatic models).
• Allow to act for one ho r.
• Restart the coffee maker to stop the flow.
• R n the coffee maker two or three times
with the eq ivalent of one j g of water to
rinse.
The guarantee excludes coffee makers
that are not working or are not working
properly due to lack of descaling.
