IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
1. Read all instructions.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plugs or appliance in water or other
liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on
or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
6. Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunc-
tions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized
facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may
cause injuries.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot
liquids.
12. f this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other), it is to reduce the
risk of electric shock. This plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. f the
plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. f it still does not fit, contact a qual-
ified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
13. To disconnect the appliance, turn control to "off", then remove plug from the wall outlet.
14. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

Short Cord instructions
A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entan-
gled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer detachable power supply cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in
their use.
f a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used :
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance.
2) The longer cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the countertop or table
top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

Prevention of accidents at ome
• Never leave the appliance unattended when plugged in.
• f the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an authorized after-sales service center
in order to avoid a hazard.
• This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate re-
mote-control system.
• Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particulary sensitive repiratory
system, such as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by an adult responsible for
their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appli-
ance.
• Accessible surface temperatures can be high when the appliance is operating. Never touch
the hot surfaces of the appliance.

How does t e Emeril by T-fal appliance work?
This is a versatile multi-function electric cooker which can be used like a small electric oven. The
stainless steel lid has an integrated enclosed electric element which provides the heat. A clear
viewing window in the lid allows you to check on the cooking process while the heat and mois-
ture remain inside. Any steam escapes through the steam vent in the viewing window.
The pan can also be used directly on the stove to brown food before cooking, which is ideal for
one-pot meals. The stand holds the removable pan, which has two carrying handles, ensuring
that no heat transfers to the work surface or table.
W at can you cook in t e Emeril by T-fal appliance?
Unlike a traditional oven, there is no need to worry about selecting different temperatures for
different recipes with this appliance. Just press the on/off switch and amazingly it can roast,
bake, grill, poach and saute all your favorite recipes.
n general, there is no need to adapt recipes when cooking in the appliance. Use the timings
in the recipe book as a guide. Do remember that the Emeril by T-fal appliance is not a slow
cooker.

suitable for?
The pan is suitable for use on gas, radiant electric, solid electric, ceramic and halogen stoves.
The pan is not suitable for use on an induction cook top.
Thank you for buying the Emeril by T-fal appliance. Before using it, please take a few
moments to read these instructions and look at the recipe book, so that you can famil-
iarize yourself with how it works. If you have any difficulties using your appliance, please
look at the section ‘A few tips in case of problems’ on page 14 for advice.
