Consignes de sécurité
• isez attentivement le mode d’emploi avant la première utilisation de
l’appareil et conservez-le : une utilisation non-conforme dégagerait Tefal de
toute responsabilité.
• Attention ! Votre appareil peut être utilisé en 120 volts (100 à 120 V) ou 240
volts (220 à 240 V). Avant de l’utiliser, vérifiez que le voltage sélectionné
correspond bien à celui de l’endroit où vous vous trouvez. Toute erreur de
branchement peut causer un dommage irréversible à la bouilloire et annule la
garantie.
• N’utilisez votre bouilloire que pour faire chauffer de l’eau potable.
• Branchez l’appareil uniquement sur une prise secteur reliée à la terre, ou sur
une rallonge électrique avec prise de terre intégrée. Vérifiez que la tension
d’alimentation indiquée sur la plaque signalétique de l’appareil correspond
bien à celle de votre installation. ’emploi de prise multiple est déconseillé.
• N’utilisez pas la bouilloire lorsque vous avez les mains mouillées ou les pieds nus.
• Veillez à ne pas poser la bouilloire sur une surface chaude telle qu’une plaque
chauffante ni à l’utiliser à proximité d’une flamme nue.
• Retirez immédiatement la prise secteur si vous constatez une anomalie
quelconque pendant le fonctionnement.
• Ne tirez pas sur le câble d’alimentation pour retirer la prise secteur.
• Ne laissez pas le câble d’alimentation pendre au bord d’une table ou d’un
plan de travail pour éviter toute chute.
• Restez toujours vigilant lorsque l’appareil est en marche, en particulier faites
attention à la vapeur sortant du bec qui est très chaude.

• Attention également, le corps des bouilloires en inox devient très chaud
pendant le fonctionnement. Ne touchez pas à la bouilloire autrement que par
la poignée.
• Ne jamais toucher au filtre ou au couvercle lorsque l’eau est bouillante.
• Ne déplacez jamais la bouilloire en fonctionnement.
• Notre garantie exclut les bouilloires qui ne fonctionnent pas ou mal du fait de
l’absence de détartrage.
• Protégez l’appareil de l’humidité et du gel.
• Si votre appareil a subi un dommage, qu’il ne fonctionne pas correctement, si
le câble d’alimentation ou la fiche sont endommagés : il est conseillé de faire
examiner l’appareil. Excepté pour le nettoyage et le détartrage selon les

Avant la premi re utilisation
1 Enlevez tous les emballages, autocollants ou accessoires divers à
l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur de la bouilloire.
2 Déroulez le cordon totalement (fig 1).
3 Réglez le sélecteur de tension (6) (situé sous le talon) (fig. 2).
Réglez la bouilloire sur la tension correspondante à l’endroit où vous vous
trouvez à l’aide d’une pièce de monnaie, par exemple. Si la tension choisie
est de 120 V, la bouilloire fonctionne de 100 à 120 V. Si elle est sur 240 V, la
bouilloire fonctionne de 220 à 240 V.
ATTENTION !
Vérifiez, si nécessaire que vous disposez d’un adaptateur convenant aux
normes de sécurité du pays.
Utilisation
1 POUR OUVRIR LE COUVERCLE
• Tirez verticalement le couvercle (fig.3).
• Pour fermer, appuyez fermement sur le couvercle.
2 PO EZ LA BOUILLOIRE UR UNE URFACE LI E, PROPRE ET FROIDE.
• Votre bouilloire ne doit être utilisée qu’avec son propre filtre anti tartre.
3 REMPLI EZ LA BOUILLOIRE AVEC LA QUANTITE D’EAU DE IREE.

• Vous pouvez remplir par le bec, ce qui assure un meilleur entretien du
filtre. Au minimum, couvrez d’eau la résistance (ou le fond de la
bouilloire).
• Ne jamais remplir la bouilloire lorsqu’elle est branchée sur le secteur.
• Ne pas remplir au-dessus du niveau maxi. Si la bouilloire est trop remplie,
de l’eau bouillante peut déborder.
• Ne pas utiliser sans eau.
• Vérifier que le couvercle est bien fermé avant utilisation.

Nettoyage et entretien
Pour nettoyer votre bouilloire
• Débranchez-la.
• aissez la refroidir et la nettoyer avec une éponge humide.
• Ne jamais plonger la bouilloire, le fil ou la prise électrique dans l’eau : les
connexions électriques ou l’interrupteur ne doivent pas être en contact avec
l’eau.
• Ne pas utiliser de tampons abrasifs.

• e filtre amovible est constitué d’une toile qui retient les particules de tartre
et les empêche de tomber dans votre tasse lors du versage. Ce filtre ne traite

• Dès que l’eau arrivera à ébullition, vous pourrez l’arrêter manuellement en
ré appuyant sur le bouton on/off. Selon modèle, la lumière intérieure ou le
voyant lumineux s’éteindra en même temps que l’eau arrivera à ébullition.
S’assurer que le bouton marche/arrêt est bien sur la position arrêt après
ébullition et que la bouilloire est arrêtée avant de la débrancher.
• Jetez l’eau des deux/trois premières utilisations car elle pourrait contenir
des poussières. Rincez la bouilloire et le filtre séparément.
8 RANGEMENT DE LA BOUILLOIRE
• Videz l’eau de la bouilloire, laissez la refroidir avant de l’essuyer. Enroulez le
cordon autour de l’appareil et remettez la dans le sac de rangement
accompagnée de ses tasses et cuillères.
• Si nécessaire, le sac peut être lavé à la main.
pas et ne supprime pas le calcaire de l’eau. Il préserve donc toutes les
qualités de l’eau. Avec de l’eau très calcaire, le filtre sature très rapidement
(10 à 15 utilisations). Il est important de le nettoyer régulièrement. S’il est
humide, le passer sous l’eau, et s’il est sec, le brosser doucement. Parfois le
tartre ne se détache pas : procéder alors à un détartrage.
Détartrage
• Détartrez régulièrement, de préférence au moins 1 fois/mois, plus souvent si
votre eau est très calcaire.
Pour détartrer votre bouilloire :
• utilisez du vinaigre blanc à 8° du commerce :
- remplissez la bouilloire avec 20 cl de vinaigre,
- laissez agir 1 heure à froid.
• de l’acide citrique :
- faites bouillir 1/4 l d’eau,
- ajoutez 12 g d’acide citrique et laissez agir 15 min.
• un détartrant spécifique pour les bouilloires en plastique : suivre les
instructions du fabricant.
• Videz votre bouilloire et rincez la 5 ou 6 fois. Recommencez si nécessaire.
Pour détartrer votre filtre
(suivant modèle)
• Faites tremper le filtre dans du vinaigre blanc ou de l’acide citrique dilué.
• Ne jamais utiliser une autre méthode de détartrage que celle préconisée.
Prévention des accidents
domestiques :
Pour un enfant, une brûlure même légère peut parfois être grave.
Au fur et à mesure qu’ils grandissent, apprenez à vos enfants à faire attention
aux liquides chauds pouvant se trouver dans une cuisine. Placer bouilloire et
cordon bien à l’arrière du plan de travail, hors de portée des enfants.
Si un accident se produit, passez de l’eau froide immédiatement sur la brûlure
et appelez un médecin si nécessaire.
• Afin d’éviter tout accident : ne portez pas votre enfant ou bébé lorsque vous
buvez ou transportez une boisson chaude.

Safety instructions
• Read carefully the instructions for use before using your appliance for
the first time and keep them: Tefal may not be held responsible for any
incorrect use.
• Attention! Your appliance may be used in 120 Volts (100 to 120 V) or
240 Volts (220 to 240 V). Before using it, check that the voltage
selected matches that of the system where you are. Any incorrect
connection may cause irreversible damage to the kettle and invalidate
the warranty.
• Only use your kettle to heat drinking water.
• Only plug in your kettle to a mains socket with an earth pin, or to an
electrical extension with an earth pin. Check that the supply voltage
indicated on the rating plate of the appliance matches that of the
system. The use of multi-plug adapter is not recommended.
• Do not use the kettle if your hands are wet or if you have bare feet.
• Do not place the kettle on a hot surface such as a hob, or use it close to
a naked flame.
• Unplug it from the mains socket immediately if you notice any
anomalies during operation.
• Do not pull on the power cord to unplug the appliance.
• Do not let the power cord dangle over the edge of a table or work top
in order to avoid risks of the kettle falling.
• Be careful when the appliance is operating, especially to the steam from
the spout which is very hot.

• Be careful also of the stainless steel body, which becomes very hot when
the kettle is operating. Only touch the handle of the kettle.
• Do not touch the filter or the lid when the water is boiling.
• Do not move the kettle when it is operating.
• Our warranty does not cover kettles which no longer operate or operate
incorrectly due to a lack of descaling.
• Protect the appliance from humidity and frost.
• If your appliance has been damaged, or if it is not operating correctly,
or if the power cord or plug have been damaged: we recommend that
you have the appliance examined. Except for the cleaning and descaling
procedures described in the instructions for the appliance, all other work
on the appliance must only be carried out by a TEFA approved service
centre.
• Unplug the appliance when not in use for long periods and when you
are cleaning it.
• All of our appliances are subjected to strict quality checks. Operating
checks are carried out randomly on appliances, which explains why

Using the kettle
1 TO OPEN THE LID.
• Pull the lid in a vertical direction (fig. 3).
• To close it, press down on the lid.
2 PLACE THE KETTLE ON A MOOTH, CLEAN AND COOL URFACE.
• Your kettle must only be used with its own scale filter.
3 FILL THE KETTLE WITH THE REQUIRED QUANTITY OF WATER. (fig 4)
• You can fill the kettle by the spout, which helps to keep the filter in good
condition. Otherwise, at least cover the heating coil (or the bottom of the
kettle).
• Do not fill the kettle when it is plugged into the mains.
• Do not fill the kettle above the maximum level. If the kettle is overfilled,
boiling water may spill over the top.
• Do not use without water.
• Check that the lid is closed correctly before use.
4 PLUG INTO THE MAIN .
Before first use
1 Remove all packaging, stickers and accessories from the inside and
outside of the kettle.
2 Unwind the power cord completely (fig 1).

Set the kettle to the same voltage as that of the system where you are using
a coin, for example. If the voltage selected is 120 V, the kettle operates
between 100 and 120 V. If 240 V is selected, the kettle operates between 220
and 240 V.

Check, if necessary, that you have an adapter which complies with the
safety standards of the country.

Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning the kettle
• Unplug it.
• eave it to cool down and clean it with a damp sponge.
• Do not immerse the kettle, the power cord or the plug in water: the electrical
connections and switch must not be brought into contact with water.
• Do not use scouring pads.
Cleaning the filter
(depending on model) (fig. 6)
• The removable filter is made of mesh which traps particles of scale and
prevents them from dropping into your cup when the water is poured. This
filter does not treat and does not eliminate scale in the water. It simply
preserves all of the qualities of the water. With very hard water, the filter
will become saturated very quickly (10 to 15 uses). It is important to clean

THE KETTLE DOE NOT EEM TO BE DAMAGED.
• The kettle will not operate, or stops before the water boils:
- Check that your kettle is plugged in correctly.
- The kettle has been used without water, or scale has accumulated, causing
the dry operation safety system to be triggered: leave the kettle to cool
down, and fill with water.
Switch on with the ON/OFF button: the kettle will start to operate after
approximately 15 minutes.
• The water tastes of plastic:
Generally this happens when the kettle is new, throw away the water from
the first few uses. If the problem continues, fill the kettle to the maximum
level, and add two teaspoonfuls of bicarbonate of soda. Boil the water and
throw it away. Rinse the kettle.
5 TO TART THE KETTLE.
• Press the ON/OFF button at the top or the bottom of the handle, depending
on the model. (fig 5)
6 THE KETTLE MAY LIGHT UP, DEPENDING ON MODEL.
7 THE KETTLE WILL TOP AUTOMATICALLY.
• As soon as the water boils, you can stop the kettle manually by pressing the
ON/OFF button. Depending on the model, the light inside the kettle or the
indicator light will be extinguished when the water boils. Check that the
ON/OFF button is in the OFF position after the water has boiled and that
the kettle is not operating before unplugging it.
• Do not use the water from the first two or three uses of the kettle, as it could
contain dust. Rinse the kettle and the filter separately.
8 TORAGE OF THE KETTLE.
• Empty the water from the kettle, and leave it to cool down before wiping it
dry. Wind the power cord around the appliance and place it in the storage
bag along with its cups and spoons.
• If necessary, the bag may be washed by hand.

brush it gently. Sometimes the scale may not come loose: descaling must
then be carried out.
Descaling
• Descale the kettle regularly, preferably at least once a month, or more often
if your water is very hard.
Descaling the kettle:
• use 8% distilled vinegar that you can buy from most stores:
- fill the kettle with 20 cl of vinegar,
- leave it to act for 1 hour without heating.
• use citric acid:
- boil 1/4 l of water,
- add 12 g of citric acid and leave to act for 15 min.
• use a specific descaling agent for plastic kettles: follow the manufacturer's
instructions.
• Empty your kettle and rinse it 5 or 6 times. Repeat the operation if necessary.
Descaling the filter
(depending on model)
• Soak the filter in white vinegar or diluted citric acid.
• Do not use other descaling methods than that recommended.

Prevention of domestic accidents
For children, even slight burns can sometimes be serious.
As your children grow older, teach them to be careful with hot liquids that
may especially be found in kitchens. Keep the kettle and power cord at the
back of the work top, out of the reach of children.
If an accident occurs, run cold water immediately on the burn and call a
doctor if necessary.
• In order to avoid any accidents: do not carry your child or baby when
drinking or carrying hot drinks.

Your appliance contains a number of materials that may be reco-
vered or recycled
Take them to a collection point or an approved service centre so
that they can be processed.
IF THE KETTLE HA BEEN DROPPED, IF IT LEAK , IF THE POWER CORD OR
THE PLUG OF THE KETTLE ARE VI IBLY DAMAGED.
• Return your kettle to your Tefal After Sales Service Centre, do not have it
repaired by anyone else. See the warranty conditions and the list of service
centres in the booklet provided with your kettle. The type and serial number
are indicated on the bottom of your kettle. This warranty only covers
manufacturing defects and domestic use. Any breakage or damage resulting
from failure to respect the instructions for use are not covered by the
warranty.
Tefal reserves the right to modify the characteristics or components of its
kettles at any time, in the consumer's interest.
• Do not use the kettle. Do not attempt to dismantle the appliance or the
safety devices.
• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the
After Sales service or a similarly qualified person so as to avoid danger.
