1. Product Introduction
Tekram’s TR-621 2.5 is a reliable USB 2.0 external box, which is used to
accommodate 2.5 inch IDE HDD, connecting computer through USB port. It is a
portable device for backing up data between desktops and notebooks with increased
performance—bundled with e-space software for file compression and
decompression to get better performance and capacity availability. With its hot-plug
support, you can easily connect or disconnect devices without having to first shut
down your computer. This enables true Plug-and-Play functionality.
Tekram’s TR-621 2.5 is the fast and easy way to add storage to your PC or
notebooks. It can be easily used to run applications, edit videos, listen to music,
download files, or play games without the worry of filling up your system’s internal
hard drive. It offers dependable storage and workspace for all your important

1. Take off the back cover of the box.
2. Draw out the circuit board.

3. Fix 2.5” HDD on the circuit board and secure it with screws.
4. Insert the circuit board into the box along the notch.
5. Replace the back cover and secure it with screws.

6. Driver Installation
This chapter explains how to install drivers for TR-621 2.5. Please refer to the
section appropriate to your computer.
6.1 Tekram TR-621 2.5 Installation under Windows 98SE
Connect TR-621 2.5 to your PC with USB 2.0 cable, and follow the procedures
below to install the driver:
Step 1: System will automatically find out the new hardware and show the
following message. Please click “Next”.
Step 2: Select “Search for the best driver for your device”, and click
“Next”.

Step 3: Select “Specify a location”, and click “Browse”.
Step 4: Select the proper driver in CD driver, and click “OK”.
Step 5: Click “Next” to continue.

Step 6: Click “Next” to continue.
Step 7: Click “Finish” to complete the driver installation.

Step 8: Check “Device Manager”, you will find “Tekram TR-621 2.5 USB
Mass Storage Device” under “Hard disk controllers”.
Step 9: Check “My Computer”, you will find a new hard disk.

6.2 Tekram TR-621 2.5 Uninstallation under Windows 98SE
Step 1: Run the “Setup_Uninstall.exe” file.
Step 2: Select “Choose Uninstall Component”, and click “Next”.

Step 3: System will remind you to unplug TR-621 2.5 from your PC, then click
“Next”.
Step 4: Select “Yes, I want to restart my computer now”, and click “Finish”
to complete the driver uninstallation.

Connect TR-621 2.5 to your PC with USB 2.0 cable. System will automatically
find out the new hardware and finish the driver installation.
Check “Device Manager”, you will find “USB Mass Storage Device” under
“Universal Serial Bus Controllers”.

Check “My Computer”, you will find a new hard disk.
6.4 Tekram TR-621 2.5 Uninstallation under Windows ME
Because TR-621 2.5 driver is default built in and finish the installation
automatically, you can directly unplug TR-621 2.5 without uninstallation.
6.5 Tekram TR-621 2.5 Installation under Windows 2000
Connect TR-621 2.5 to your PC with USB 2.0 cable. System will automatically
find out the new hardware and finish the driver installation.
