INTRODUCTION
The TANGO PRG programmer is a valid instrument for those who wish to broaden the possibilities of use which the
TANGO range of remote controls offers.
This programmer permits total control of coding parameters and its main features can be summed up as follows:
Code insertion.
Code reading.
Code erasure.
Duplication of receiver memories.
Detailed descriptions of all the modes plus some practical examples can be found in this handbook.
WPM software for managing installations by computer is supplied together with the TANGO PRG programmer.
The programmer also comes with:
Rechargeable NiCd battery.
External power supply for table-top use of programmer and as battery charger.
Liquid crystal display with two-line menu for easy reading.
Possibility of customising menus shown on the display according to the situation, by means of software.
Adapter card to store new codes directly in EEPROM.
OPERATION
Upon switching on, the TANGO PRG programmer display shows the menu from which access may be gained to the
main functions, i.e.:
INS = Insertion of codes (linked to key 1)
CAN = Erasure of codes (linked to key 2)
RIC = Reception of codes (linked to key 3)
MEM = Duplication of memory (linked to key 4)
INSERTING A CODE
In a transmitter
Using this function a code may be inserted as required into the TANGO transmitter, replacing the one that was set at
random during the factory testing stage.
Note:
Put the TANGO N transmitter into the mould or cavity to be found in the TANGO PRG programmer.
Given the particular shape of the remote control, we advise keeping it about 2 cm lower than the mould.
Proceed with programming, e.g. the code 5678, as follows:
From the main menu:
1 (Ins) entry into the code insertion mode
5678 type in the code to be programmed
Penter into the programming mode
1(Tra) select the device to be programmed (in this case a transmitter).
The red “Transfer” led on the front panel of the programmer now comes on, showing the start of programming.
Rest the transmitter in the shape outlined in the TANGO PRG and press a transmitter button until the writing CODE OK
appears for a moment on the display. The programmer will then continue the insertion stage.
Follow the same procedure to insert the code (which may be the same or different) also in the other transmitter buttons.
If button 1 is pressed during transmitter programming, the code is also stored in the other buttons.
If button 2 (or 3 or 4) is pressed during programming, the code just inserted will only go into the relative button.
If the writing CODE ERR appears, this may mean that:
The remote control has not been properly placed in the programmer.
To return to the main menu, press key Cfor a few seconds.
