16” Metal Pedestal Fan
User Guide

The Stand Fan features three speeds, a swivel action head giving a smooth oscillation action along with low noise levels,
low electrical usage, reliability with safety, while still providing efficient air flow.

1. After removing everything from the carton, locate
the motor unit (8) and separate the front guard (2)
and back guard (5) if they are connected.
2. Locate the rear guard (5) and align with the four
protruding indents on the motor unit (8). The safety
grill will only fit one way over the protruding indents
with the handle facing up. Insert four locking screws
(4) and tighten to secure the rear guard to the motor
unit.
3. Locate the fan blades (3) and align the centre of the
blades over the metal spindle protruding from the
motor unit. The indent on the metal spindle aligns
with the locking screw on the fan blades. After the
blades have been placed, tighten the locking screw
and ensure that the blades are secured to the motor
unit.
4. Align the front guard to the rear guard and lock
into place with six locking tabs that are located on
the guard. Locate the security nut and bolt (1) and
secure the front and rear guards together. This is a
safety precaution to prevent accidental dismantling
of the fan.
5. Locate the pedestal base (13). Insert the base of
the stand (10) into the pedestal base, then fasten the
base (12,13) and the pole with the screws provided.
6. Undo the thumbscrew at the top of the stand (10)
and align the motor unit complete with guards before
fastening.

• Take the base and tube parts from the packing box
and loosen the four joint screws.
• Fix the tube on the base plate by the joint screws.
The power switch is incorporated in the speed control
switch on the top of the fan.
0 - The fan is switched off.
1 - The fan operates at the lowest speed.
2 - The fan operates at the medium speed.
3 - The fan operates at the highest speed.
• The fan can operate in either oscillating or static
mode.
• To make the fan head oscillate, push down the
oscillation knob.
• To stop the fan head from oscillating, pull-up the
oscillation knob.
• The head of the fan can be adjusted up or down.
To do this loosen the adjusting knob, adjust the fan
to the desired angle, then secure by tightening the
adjusting knob.
1. Be sure to unplug the fan from the electrical supply
before cleaning.
2. Plastic parts should be cleaned with a damp cloth
or sponge using a mild soap solution. Thoroughly
remove soap with clean water.
3. To disassemble each part, reverse the order of
assembly.
• Read the operation instructions carefully.
• To reduce the risk of electric shock and injury to
persons, make sure unit is switch to the “off” position
and unplugged from the electrical outlet before
cleaning.
• Do not leave the fan running unattended.
• If the electric cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly
qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,
electric shock and injury to persons including:
1. Never insert fingers, pencils or any other object
through the grill when the fan is running.
2. Disconnect fan from the electric supply when moving
from one location to another.
3. Disconnect fan from the electric supply when
removing grills for cleaning.
4. Be sure the fan is on a stable, even surface when
operating to avoid overturning.
5. Do not use fan by a window. Rain may create an
electrical hazard.
6. Do not leave the fan running adjacent to an area
where water has been collected to avoid the
potential of electrical hazard.
7. Do not leave the appliance running or operable in
a place where young children might have access to
without supervision.

• Avoid contact with moving parts.
• Protect the power cord from being walked on or
pinched.
• The power cord must not overhang the edge of a
desk or other surface.
• Do not operate the fan with a damaged cord or
plug, after a malfunction or if dropped or damaged
in any way.
• To disconnect grip the plug and pull from wall outlet.
Never yank on the power cord.
• The use of attachments not recommended by the
manufacturer may be hazardous.
• Warning: Do not use this fan with any solid state
voltage regulator or speed control.
• Always use on a dry, level and stable surface when
operating to avoid overturning.
• Do not hang or mount the fan on a wall or ceiling.
• Never use the fan without the guards correctly fitted.
• Do not insert any object into the fan guards whether
the fan is running or not.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance
is used by or near children.
• This product is intended for household use. Do not
use it for commercial or industrial purposes.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly
qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance
with the code:
Blue: NEUTRAL, Brown: LIVE, Green & Yellow: EARTH.
As these colours may not correspond to the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed
as follows:
• The wire coloured BLUE must be connected to the
terminal marked with the letter N or coloured BLUE
or BLACK.
• The wire coloured BROWN must be connected
to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured
BROWN or RED.
• The wire coloured GREEN & YELLOW must be
connected to the terminal marked with the letter E or
coloured GREEN or GREEN & YELLOW or marked
with the Earth Symbol .
