Introduction
TI-Presenter projects the display of your TI graphing calculator to a video device such
as a TV, a VCR, a video camera, or a video projector with composite video input.
The pre-installed TI-Presenter software supports the following calculators: TI-73,
TI-82, TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-85, TI-86, TI-89, TI-92, and TI-92 Plus. To use TI-Presenter,
you must have a ViewScreenémodel of any of these calculators and a TV.
TI-Presenter uses Flash technology, which allows you to upgrade your TI-Presenter to
new features as they become available from the TI web site without buying a new unit
(see page 6).
First Things First
Make sure your package contains all of the following:
• TI-Presenter
• AC/DC power adapter (AC-9920)
• Power cable
• Video cable
• Type I calculator cable
• Type II calculator cable
• SCART video adapter (for European countries only)*
• Carrying case
• TI-Presenter User Guide
If any of these items is missing, contact the TI product dealer where you purchased
your TI-Presenter.
For your calculator, you will need either the Type I cable or the Type II cable. (The
type of the cable is indicated on the tag attached to the cable.) Before you start
setting up your TI-Presenter, choose the appropriate cable from the following:
• For TI-73, TI-82, TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-85, and TI-86 calculators, use the Type I
cable.
• For TI-89, TI-92, and TI-92 Plus calculators, use the Type II cable.
*Texas Instruments does not guarantee proper performance of the SCART adapter with
devices other than TI-Presenter.

Hardware/Software Requirements
TI-Presenter is designed to provide video output in two TV formats – NTSC and PAL.
Make sure your TV supports one of these formats.
To use your TI-Presenter, you must have the following:
• A ViewScreen calculator.
• An NTSC or PAL TV with:
♦ A composite Video-In port and the ability to switch from TV channels to video
input mode.
-or-
♦ A VCR with a composite Video-In port.
-or-
♦ An RF (regular antenna connection) port and an RF modulator.
Many PAL TVs are equipped with a SCART Video-In port (Europe only). If that is the
case, use the enclosed SCART adapter.
Setting up Your TI-Presenter
Refer to the drawing below when setting up your TI-Presenter. Step-by-step
instructions are given on the following pages.

Before you set up your TI-Presenter, make sure your calculator is turned off.
1. Connect the power cable to the AC/DC adapter.
2. Connect the other end of the AC/DC adapter to the DC Power Port on the
TI-Presenter.
3. Connect one end of the video cable to the Video-Out Port on the TI-Presenter.
Connect the other end of the cable to:
• the Video-In Port on the TV (for Europe only, use the SCART adapter).
-or-
• the Video-In Port on the VCR.
-or-
• the RF modulator.
Note: If you connect TI-Presenter to the TV through a VCR or an RF modulator,
see the manufacturer’s manual for connection instructions.
4. Connect the larger connector on the calculator cable to the Calculator-In Port on
the TI-Presenter. Connect the other end of the calculator cable to the ViewScreen
Port on the calculator. (To determine which calculator cable to use, see page 4.)
Do not use the calculator’s unit-to-unit cable to connect the calculator to
