Applicazioni
The dehumidifier ADS150÷300E is of the absorption type, with the rotor of desiccant and has been
designed to dehumidify air at atmospheric pressure. The dehumidifier can be used to dehumidify air at
relative humidity up to 100% and temperature from -30°C to +40°C.
The applications are many and cover all segments, but here are some examples:
Moisture control in manufacturing processes.
Drying temperature sensitive products.
Maintaining proper humidity levels in warehouses.
Corrosion protection of plants and in general of ferrous materials.
Moisture control in museums and libraries.
Drying after flooding of properties and buildings.
Improvement of environmental conditions occur anywhere excessive moisture.
Principle of operation
The dehumidifier works by using an air flow; a part of the
air consists of the air to be dehumidified, another part -
of minor flow - is instead used to regenerate the
dehumidification rotor. A fan inside the dehumidifier
creates two air flows that pass through the rotor in
opposite directions. The air to be dehumidified - also
called "process air", passes through the desiccant rotor
impregnated with silica gel. Silica gel is a highly
hygroscopic material that absorbs water vapor from the air. During the crossing of the rotor, the air
transfers its moisture content to the rotor itself. The dehumidified air is then sent to the production
room or to the dehumidifying process. The dehumidification process can take place between
temperatures between -30°C and +40°C. During the process the rotor rotates very slowly and is
equipped with a transmission system with reduction gear and belt. The so-called "regeneration air", is
used by the system to remove the absorbed moisture and take it outside: it is heated by a battery
inside the dehumidifier, up to about + 80°C and crosses the rotor in the opposite direction from the
process air and submits it to an inverse process, for which the rotor transfers its moisture content and
its initial absorbing capacity is restored. The regeneration air is expelled lukewarm and humid and must
be sent to the treated environment.

Product Description
The dehumidifier has been designed to meet the requirements of the degree of protection IP 54 of IEC.
Structure
The structure of the dehumidifier is made of steel and AluZink AISI_304 with simple panels. The top
panel can be removed for maintenance to electrical components and all internal mechanical parts. The
connections to the dehumidifier can be made with standard spiral ducts.
Rotor
The dehumidifier has a rotor made with desiccant material. The rotor has a honeycomb structure made
of corrugated and heat-resistant sheets that contain the silica gel desiccant, which creates a large
number of axial fluid threads and at the same time a high absorption surface in a small volume.
Furthermore, the rotor will not be damaged if the process fan stops due to an anomaly during
operation. The rotor is non-combustible and non-flammable.
Transmission system
A belt drive system controls the movement of the rotor. The belt exerts its pull on the outer edge of
the rotor and is driven by a pulley on the engine gearbox. A special device maintains the correct belt
tension to prevent slippage of the belt itself. The correct direction of rotation and the transmission can
be verified by opening the front panel.
Bearings
The rotor is provided with ball bearings. The rotor shaft is stainless steel.
Filter
The dehumidifier has one filter (G2), on the input process and regeneration air.
Ventilatore per l'aria di processo e rigenerazione
The fan is directly coupled to a single phase motor class IP55, ISO F, Class B. They are accessible for
maintenance by removing the inspectable upper panel.
Battery heating reactivation rotor
The battery power of regeneration is PTC (Positive Temperature Control), which eliminates the risk of
overheating and provides modulating control 50-100% of the performance of the dehumidifier, acting
on the air flow rate of reactivation.
Electrical panel
The electrical panel is located inside the unit. Switches and indicators are functioning outside of the
dehumidifier.

Installation and location requirements
The dehumidifier ADS150÷300E is designed to be installed inside a room, must be installed in a vertical
position and preferably secured to the floor.
For maintenance, filter replacement, etc. leave a space of access to 500mm. On the side of the dryer
inspected.
Connecting channels
The dehumidifier can be installed inside or outside the room to be dehumidified.
To improve the performance of the installation and should stave off the flow from the air intake.
Specifications for the ejection channel moist air
The wet air from the dehumidifier must be expelled outside. The channels must be as short as possible
to minimize the possibility of condensation of moist air within the channels. This channel should be
slightly sloped to prevent any return of condensation inside the dehumidifier. If the channel is very
long or moist air must be uphill, realize a drainage hole of 2-4 mm at the lowest point of the discharge
channel. It must be installed a damper air flow regulation. Protect the channel output with a grid.
Specifications for the input channel reactivation air
This channel should be as short as possible. To prevent the ingress of foreign bodies, protect the
entrance of the channel with a grid. It is not necessary to isolate the pipe, which can be tilted
downward. In some installations, the regeneration air can be sucked from the room where the
dehumidifier is installed and in this case it is not necessary any channel.
It is advisable to install a damper on the regeneration circuit to allow proper air flow calibration.
Specifications for the channels of the process air and dry in case the dehumidifier is installed
inside the room to be dehumidified.
In this case for the air intake process is not necessary the realization of no suction channel, it is only
required the installation of a protection grid. The dry air produced must be ducted for the distribution
of the dry air inside the local dehumidified.
Specifications for channels and process air dry if the dehumidifier is installed outside the room to be
dehumidified.
In this case, normally the inlet and outlet are channeled.
The dehumidifier sucks air dehumidified by the environment or by a system of pre-treatment of the air
(pre-cooling or pre-heating). The dry air produced can be sent or dehumidified environment to a
system of post-treatment.
A control damper can be installed to regulate the flow of dry air.
General Warnings
The connections for the process and regeneration air are of the round type, with sealing gasket. While
the joint suction connection is rectangular with M6 threaded inserts (optional there is an accessory for
the adjustment of the rectangular round section with gasket).
NOTE! The dehumidifier has been designed for specific process air flows, which correspond to the size of
the installed fans, and must not be connected to existing air conditioning systems.

AD150E-STD.EN-00 - Subject to change without notice TFT Dry Air
When installing the duct network between the dehumidifier and the connections for the inlet
and outlet sockets, follow the instructions below:
The length of the duct network must be minimal in order to limit pressure drops.
To ensure optimum performance, all rigid joints in the process or regeneration air ducts must
be airtight and vapor tight.
The process air duct must be insulated in order to avoid condensation on the outside when the
temperature inside the duct falls below the ambient air dew point temperature.
If there is a risk of temperatures below 0°C, the ducts must be insulated.
The high humidity level of the exhaust air, emitted by the dehumidifier, could cause
condensation to accumulate inside the ducts. Insulating the ducts reduces the amount of
condensation.
The horizontal ducts of the humid air must be installed with a slight slope (away from the
dehumidifier) to facilitate the drainage of any condensation. At the lowest points of the humid
air expulsion duct, condensate drainage devices must be installed. The humid air duct must be
made of anticorrosive material (for example, stainless steel, aluminum, plastic, etc.) and must
withstand temperatures that can reach 100°C.
Be sure to leave adequate space to perform maintenance operations during the design and
installation of the ducts.
The ducts must be designed to prevent rain or snow from entering the dehumidifier.
In order to reduce the transmission of vibrations and/or noises along rigid ducts, it is
recommended to install flexible hoses and any silencers.
The ducts mounted directly on the dehumidifier must be equipped with adequate supports to
reduce the load and the tension due to the weight and movement of the ducts themselves.
Manual calibration dampers must be installed on the process air and regeneration air flows to
maintain the unit's functional efficiency.
The total pressure drop of the process and regeneration air ducts must not exceed the available
pressure of the fans with which the dehumidifier is equipped.
