2 Introduction
Thank you for choosing the SKILLMASTER.
We have walked in the shoes as parents, coaches, kids, and players to bring you this our first
product in The Kick Company. Our aim is to bring pro level equipment that can grow from
grassroots play and fun through to players with serious performance requirements.
Play is a vital component of human development. Our product is designed and engineered to
allow multiple ball sports to be practiced with this unit. SKILLMASTER, is one of the tallest
rebounders on the market.
Please read and understand all of the instructions and warnings in this instruction manual
before assembling the product.
Be careful when multiple players are playing at same time. Stronger players must be careful
when younger or weaker players are present because of increased speeds at the which the ball
will rebound.
WARNING: The 4 blue sandbags must be filled with sand prior to assembly and be used to
anchor the SKILLMASTER unit at all times. (The only exception is when the unit is perma-
nently fixed to solid ground, concrete, tarmacadam or asphalt surfaces using our solid ground
fixing kit included in the main kit)
DANGER: DO NOT CLIMB ON ANY PART OF THE FRAME OR NETS, IT IS
NOT DESIGNED FOR THIS PURPOSE OR ANY OTHER SIMILAR ACTIVI-
TIES.
SKILLMASTER netting is manufactured with UV resistant material.

3 Before Assembly
Before beginning assembly of your SKILLMASTER, you will need:
•Sand - Approximately 60-80kg
•WD40 (or similar)
•Hammer Drill - necessary only if anchoring your SKILLMASTER to concrete.
•Dropcloth (or cardboard) on which to lay parts during assembly, if assembling your
SKILLMASTER on concrete or other hard surface.

4 Frame Assembly
As paint can sometimes leave joints tight you may need to use WD40 (or washing up liquid)
on some joints to ease assembly. - See diagram 1
1. Start with tube marked A connect to tube B and secure with bolt - hand tighten only
(Head of bolt to front of frame, washer to inside of frame.) Continue this process with
tubes C (x 2), (Note: where tube C connects to tubes A & B do not insert bolts as
these will be secured when brace is installed ) continue with D (x 2), E, F, G & H. - See
diagram 2. At this stage you can tighten all bolts that have been installed so far. (Note:
do not over tighten bolts).
2. Continue with tube I x 2 and secure with bolts – hand tighten only, see Figure 3b
3. Using the sandbags filled earlier lay them on the ground in line with uprights two on each
side approx. 4/5ft apart and approx. 3ft from front of frame. - See diagram 3. Lie frame
down on sandbags and continue assembly with tubes J x 2. Continue with tubes K & L
and secure with bolts – hand tighten only. See diagram 4. ( Note: where tubes I & J
connect do not insert bolts as these will be secured later when brace is installed.)
4. Connect tube M(x2) to tube N(x2) using Eye bolts.- making sure the eye of the bolt is
facing away from the angle on tube M – see diagram 4.
With the frame still lying on the sandbags connect tube M to I & J and tube N to B &
C on one side. Repeat process on opposite side - See diagram 4.
5. You can now tighten all bolts (Be careful no to over tighten).
6. Install Eye bolts (x 2) into holes at the top of the frame in tubes K & L making sure the
eye of the bolts are facing the back of the frame (towards braces) - See diagram 4.

5 Net Installation
5.1 Top and Bottom Nets
1. Lay the net on the ground inside the frame, and using the Loops, attach the net to the
frame using two bungees in each corner. - See Figure 4.
2. Next, place two bungees on each of the 4 sides, approximately 12” (30cm) each side of
centre - See Figure 7a.
3. Place a bungee rope in the 5th net space from the corner (both ways) - See Figure 7b.
4. Counting from the bungee rope just installed in the 5th hole, the next bungee rope will
be installed every 4th hole after that. When you install two bungees on one side then go
to the opposite side and do the same, continue this process until the net is fully installed.
See Figure 7c.
5. Repeat Steps 1-4 to install the bottom net.
5.2 Target Net
(Target net is installed between the braces, behind the large rebound net.) With the frame
lying on the sandbags, open target net and lay it on the back of the large rebound net with
the vertical red line facing the top of the rebounder and the targets facing the rebound net.
Using the straps, connect the target net to the eye bolts – after looping through the buckle pull
each strap back until it reaches the eye bolt, do not stretch fully until all 4 corners have been
attached. Once all corners have been attached stretch each strap another 3”- 4” until target
net is tight. (tie loose end of each strap in knots to finish) - see diagram 9.

6 Further Safety Notice
Please ensure proper POSITIONING OF SKILLMASTER to avoid injuries:
1. It is essential that the unit is on flat and level ground. If the ground is uneven, this could
cause movement in the frame and affect anchoring, whilst reducing performance.
2. SKILLMASTER positioned on uneven ground could in twist in frame and stress on the
joined sections of the frame that could damage the SKILLMASTER frame.
3. Wind can move the SKILLMASTER frame potentially causing danger to individuals and
to property. Winds can be especially strong in open areas, foothills, mountains and loca-
tions subject to hurricanes and tornadoes, areas between homes that create wind tunnels
and anywhere else where local weather conditions can create high winds. (The only ex-
ception is when the unit is permanently fixed to solid ground, concrete, tarmacadam or
asphalt surfaces using our solid ground fixing kit included in the main kit). Damage
from the wind or other severe weather is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
Because The Kick Company warranty does not cover wind or weather-related damage.
Damage can be caused to your property or the property of others by a SKILLMASTER
moved/felled by wind, it is strongly advised that you follow anchoring instructions.

any warranty claims on the product, as allowed by the law in your jurisdiction.
