IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Use this appliance correctly. Read all instructions before using this
appliance. If the information in this manual is not followed exactly, a fire or explosion
may result causing property damage, personal injury or death. To reduce the risk of
fire, electric shock or injury to persons, take these precautions:
Installation Ensure your appliance is installed and grounded by a qualified servicer.
Know where and how to switch off power to the cooktop. Have the servicer show
you the location of the circuit breaker. Mark it for easy future reference. See details
in the installation guide.
Intended Use This appliance is intended for family household use only. Is not approved for outdoor
use. See the Warranty. If you have any questions, contact the manufacturer.
WARNING: Use the cooktop only for intended use, as described in this manual.
This appliance is intended for family household only. It is not approved for outdoor
use. NEVER use the cooktop to warm or heat a room. The appliance could
overheat. Never use the appliance to store items.
Child safety Do not allow children to use the appliance without close supervision by an adult.
Children and pets should not be left alone or unattended in the area where the
appliance is in use. They should never be allowed to play in its vicinity, whether or
not the appliance is in use.
When children become old enough to use the appliance, it is the legal responsibility
of the parents or legal guardians to ensure that they are instructed in safe practices
by qualified persons.
Do not allow anyone to climb, stand, lean, sit or hang on any part of an appliance,
especially a door. This can damage the appliance and the unit may tip over,
potentially causing severe injury.
CAUTION: Do not store objects of interest to children above or at the back of the
cooktop. Children climbing on the cooktop to reach items could be seriously
injured.
Cooking safety Do not allow plastic, paper, cloth, covers or any other large metallic objects to come
in contact with a burner. Do not allow pans to boil dry. Wear proper apparel. Loose
fitting garments, hanging sleeves, ties or scarves should never be worn while
cooking. Hair should be pulled back.
DO NOT TOUCH SURFACE UNITS OR AREAS NEAR UNITS. Surface units may be
hot even though they are dark in color. Areas near surface units may become hot
enough to cause burns. During and after use, do not touch or let clothing or other
flammable materials come into contact with surface units or areas near units until
they have had sufficient time to cool.
Use only dry potholders; moist or damp potholders on hot surfaces may cause
burns from steam. Do not let potholder touch hot heating elements. Do not use a
towel or bulky cloth.

Cookware safety
Never move a pan of hot oil, especially a deep fat frier. Wait until it is cool.
Never leave a cooktop unattended when in use. Boil overs cause smoking and
greasy spillovers may ignite.
WARNING: Supervise the cooktop even if the time program function is on, in order
to ensure that food does not boil over or burn. Food spills may smoke and some
may catch fire, such as oil at high temperatures.
Do not heat or warm unopened food containers. Build-up of pressure may cause
the container to burst and cause injury.
Always keep pot bases dry. The accumulation of pressure between the base and
the cooktop may cause the pan to jump unexpectedly, causing injury.
Never use the appliance if liquids or foods have spilled around the control panel.
Always turn off the cooktop and dry the control panel.
Only use high heat if necessary. To prevent boil overs and spattering, heat oil slowly
on low or medium-low heat. Hot oil may cause serious burns and injury.
Injury and damage to the appliance may occur if commands are not used properly.
Use proprer pan size. This appliance is equipped with one or more surface units of
different size. Select utensils with flat bottoms large enough to cover the surface unit
heating element. The use of undersized utensils will expose a portion of the heating
element to direct contact and may result in ignition of clothing. Proper relationship of
utensil to burner also improves efficiency.
Only ferromagnetic pans are suitable for induction cooking. These can be of
enameled steel, cast iron or special stainless steel utensils for induction cooking.
You must never use normal stainless steel, glass, ceramic, copper or aluminum
pans. Check that the bases of your pans are attracted by a magnet to find out ifthey
are suitable.
Hold the handle of the pan when stirring or turning food. This helps prevent spills
and movement of the pan.
To reduce the risk of burns, ignition of flammable materials, and spillage due to
unintentional contact with a utensil, the handle of the utensil should be turned
inward so it does not extend over adjacent surface units.
Cleaning Safety Do not clean the cooktop while it is still hot. Some cleaners produce noxious fumes
when applied to a hot surface. If a wt sponge or a cloth is used to clean spills on a
hot cooking area, be careful to avoid steam burns.
Never use steam cleaners to clean the cooktop.
Condition of Unit WARNING: Do not cook on a broken cooktop. If the cooktop should break,
cleaning solutions and spillovers may penetrate the broken cooktop and create a
risk of electric shock. Contact a qualified servicer immediately.
If the display does not function when a cooking area is heating up, disconnect the
circuit breaker from the fuse box. Contact an authorized servicer.

If the cooktop switches itself off and can no longer be used, it may unexpectedly
switch itself on later. Inorder to prevent this, switch off the circuit in the fuse box.

Work Space and Environment Always have a working smoke detector near the kitchen.
Have an appropriate fire extinguisher available, nearby, highly visible and easily
accessible near the oven.
Service and Repair Safety
Do not store or use corrosive chemicals, vapors, flammables or nonfood products in
or near this appliance. Itis specifically designed for use when heating or cooking
food. The use of corrosive chemicals in heatingt or cleaning will damage the
appliance and could result in injury.
Do not repair or replace any part unless specifically recommended in this manual.
All other servicing should be referred to a qualified servicer.
Flammable materials
In the event of fire
To avoid electrical shock hazard, before servicing the cooktop, switch power off at
the service panel and lock the panel to prevent the power from being switched on
accidentally.
Do not store or use gasoline or other vapors, liquids or flammable materials near this
or any other appliance.
If the cooktop is near a window, be certain that curtains or any other window
accessory is not near the elements as they could catch on fire.
If clothing catches fire, drop and roll immediately to extinguish flames.
Smother flames from food fires other than grease fires with baking soda. Never use
water on cooking fires.
WARNING: REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE:
a) Never leave the cooktop unattended especially at high temperature settings.
Keep an eye on the cooktop and do not allow anything to boil over or burn.
Boilovers can cause smoke and some foods and oils may catch on fire if left on high
temperature settings.
b) Leave the hood ventilator on when fiambeing food.
c) Clean ventilating fans frequently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on
fan or filter.
d) Use the proper pots and pans. Always use a pan that is the same size as the
cooking area.

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY TO PERSONS IN THE EVENT OF
A GREASE FIRE, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
a) SMOTHER FLAMES from a grease fire with a close-fitting lid, cookie sheet, or
other metal tray, then turn off the element. BE CAREFUL TO PREVENT BURNS. If
the flames do not go out immediately, EVACUATE AND CALL THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT.
b) NEVER PICK UP A FLAMING PAN. You may get burned.
c) DO NOT USE WATER, including wet dishcloths or towel, on grease fires. A
violent steam explosion may result.
d) Use an extinguisher ONLY if:
• You know you have an ABC Class extinguisher and you know how to operate it.
• The fire is small and contained in the area where it started.
• The fire department is being called.
• You can put out the fire with your back to an exit.
Do not operate the ventilation system during a cooktop fire. Ifthe ventilation system
is on, do not try to turn it off during a fire.
Do not place metal objects on the
induction cooktop Do not leave lids or other large metal objects on the element. If the appliance is
switched on by mistake, these objects will heat up very quickly and could cause
burns.
Taking care of the cooling fan This cooktop comes with a cooling fan mounted underneath. If a drawer isfitted
beneath the cooktop, do not keep small objects or paper in it as they could damage
the cooling fan or affect the cooling system. Do not keep aluminum and flammable
materials or liquids (for example sprays) in the drawer or near the cooktop. They
could explode.
Note: Ths appliance generates and uses ISM frequency energy. If not installed and used
properly, in strict accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, it may cause
interference to radio and television reception. It has been type tested and found to
comply with limits for ISM equipment pursuant to part 18 of FCC rules, which are
designed to provide reasonable protection against such interference in a residential
installation. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a
particular installation. Turn the appliance on and off to determine if it causes
interference. Try the following to correct the interference: -Reorient the receiving
antenna of the radio or television. The manufacturer is not responsible for any radio
or TV interference caused by unauthorized modification to this cooktop. It is the
responsibility of the user to correct such interference.
WARNING: This appliance heats cookware by utilizing an electromagnetic field. It
meets all of the US Federal Communications Commission requirements to minimize
interference with other devices. However, ifyou suspect that it may affect some
other electronic appliance or medical device (such as a pacemaker), contact the
manufacturer of your device to see if any precautions are necessary before using
this product.

regulations. However, people with pacemakers should abstain from using this
appliance. It is impossible to guarantee that 100% of the devices on the market

produce interference that put this compatibility at risk. It is also possible that people
with other types of devices, such as hearing aids, may feel some sort of discomfort.

Rough pan bottoms may scratch the cooktop.
Avoid leaving empty pans on the cooking areas. This may result in damage to the
appliance. If special cookware is used, please follow the manufacturer's
instructions.
Never place any hot pans or other cookware on the control panel, the display area
or the cooktop frame.
Salt, sugar and sand particles may scratch the cooktop.
Hard or pointed objects may damage the cooktop if they are dropped on it.
Do not use the cooktop as a work or support surface.
Sugar and other similar products may damage the cooktop. Remove such products
immediately using a scraper for glass surfaces.
The use of unsuitable cleaning products and the wear caused by contact with
cookware will result in fading of the metal parts.
Aluminum foil and plastic containers will melt if placed on element while it is hot.
Use pans equipped with a solid, flat bottom. Curved pan bottoms increase
energy consumption. Place a ruler against the bottom of the pan. If there are no
gaps, this means the bottom is completely flat.
The diameter of the pan you are using should be the same as the diameter of
the element. Please note: If the cookware manufacturer provides the diameter
for the top of the pan, bear in mind that this is in most cases greater than the
diameter of its bottom. This is generally greater than the diameter of the base of
the pan. If the diameter of the pan is not the same as the diameter of the
element, it is preferable to use a pan with a bottom that is larger in diameter
than the element, otherwise half the energy will be wasted.
Choose pans of a size suited to the amount of food you are going to cook. A
large pan that is only half full will use a great amount of energy.
Ensure that pans are always placed in the center of the element and always
cover them with a lid. Cooking with an uncovered pan will result in a four-fold
increase in energy use.
Use a small amount of water when cooking. This will save energy and preserve
the vitamins and minerals of cooked vegetables.
When cooking stews or liquid food such as soups, sauces or drinks, these may
reach a high temperature within a very short time and without warning, with the
risk of spillage. Therefore, it is advisable to heat food slowly, adjusting the heat
setting to an adequate level and stirring the food before and during the heating
process.

Advantages of
induction cooking
Induction cooking constitutes a radical change in the traditional form of heating,
given that the heat is generated directly in the pan. Therefore, it has a number of
advantages:
÷ Greater speed in cooking and frying; as the pan is heated directly.
÷ Uses less energy
÷ Greater convenience and cleanliness; food spilled on the cooktop surface
will not burn.

Cooking control and safety; The cooktop heats up or cools down
immediately after the controls are set. The induction cooktop also stops
supplying heat ifthe pan is removed without first turning off the power.
Only ferromagnetic pans are suitable for induction cooking. These can be of

There is another type of special cookware for induction cooking with a base that is
not entirely ferromagnetic. Check the diameter. It could affect both the detection of
the cookware as well as the results of the cooking.
Check the pans with a
magnet Check that the bases of your pans are attracted by a magnet to find out ifthey are
suitable. The manufacturer normally indicates if pans are suitable for induction
cooking.
Improper cookware Never use pans made of:

• glass
• clay
• copper
• aluminum
The characteristics of the pan base can influence the evenness of the cooking.
Pans made out of materials that diffuse heat, such as pans with a "sandwich" of
stainless steel, spread heat uniformly, saving time and energy.
No pan or improper size If no pan is placed on the selected element, or it is not of a suitable size, the
cooking element shown on the element indicator will flash. It will stop flashing once
a suitable pan is placed on the element. If you take longer than 90 seconds to place
a suitable pan on the element, it will automatically turn off.
