WARNING -TO REDUCETHE RISKOF FIRE,

a) Use this unit only in the manner intended by
the manufacturer. If you have questions, con-
tact the manufacturer.(800-656-9226).
b) Beforeservicingor cleaningunit,switchpower
off at service panel and lock the service dis-
connecting means to prevent power from be-
ingswitchedonaccidentally.When the service
disconnecting means cannot be locked, se-
curelyfastenaprominentwarningdevice,such
as a tag,to the service panel.

ORVAPOR.
WARNING - TO REDUCE THE RISK OF A
RANGETOP GREASE FIRE:
a) Never leave surface units unattended at high
settings.Boil-overs cause smoking and greasy
spillovers that may ignite.Heat oils slowly on
low or medium settings.
b) Always turn hood ON when cooking at high
heat or when cooking flaming foods.
c) Cleanventilatingfansfrequently.Greaseshould
not be allowed to accumulate on fan or filter.
d) Use proper pan size.Always use cookware ap-
propriate for the size of the surface element.
WARNING -TO REDUCETHE RISK OF IN-
JURY TO PERSONS IN THE EVENT OF A
RANGETOP GREASE FIRE, OBSERVETHE
FOLLOWING:
a) SMOTHERFLAMES withaclose-fittinglid,cookie
sheet,or metal tray,then turn off the burner.BE
CAREFUL TO PREVENT BURNS. If the flames
do not go out immediately, EVACUATE AND
CALLTHE FIRE DEPARTMENT.
b) NEVER PICK UPA FLAMING PAN -You may be
burned.
c) DO NOT USEWATER,including wet dishcloths
or towels – a violent steam explosion will result.
d) Use an extinguisher ONLY if:
1. You know you have a ClassABC extinguisher,
and you already know how to operate it.
2. The fire is small and contained in the area
where it started.
3. The fire department is being called.
4. You can fight the fire with your back to an
exit.

VENTILATOR
The ventilator motor is operated by a variable speed
control switch. You may vary the speed of the motor
depending on the amount of grease and smoke you
are creating while cooking.
ALWAYS USE THE HIGH SETTING WHEN
GRILLING.
COOKTOP LIGHTING (MARKED "LIGHTS")
Arockerswitch controlsthe halogenlights at the front
of your hood.One switch position will fully turn ON
the lights; the center position will turn OFF the lights.
The other switch position will dim your lights 50% for
night lighting purposes. Purchase and use size R20,50
watt maximum halogen bulbs.
WARMING LAMPS (INFRARED).THESE ARE
AVAILABLE ON "H" AND "HT" SERIES
HOODS.
Each warming lamp is controlled with its own ON/
OFF switch marked "LAMP". Purchase and use only
size R40,250 watt maximum infrared bulbs. For instal-
lation where warming lights are not desired,install two
additional white flood lamps size R40,250 watt maxi-
mum bulbs.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS –
HOOD
The blower should be turned on for a few minutes
before cooking in order to establish air currents up-
ward through the hood. Thus when heat,smoke,mois-
ture,grease and cooking odors are produced,they will
becarried outsideinstead ofdrifting into otherrooms.
Drafts across the range or cooktop will cause the es-
capeofheat,smoke,moisture,greaseand cookingodors
from the hood. Such drafts should be prevented in so
far as possible.
Thebest jobof ventilationinthe kitchen is done where
the only air currents are those created by the blower
itself.

CAUTION:
• DO NOTTOUCHTHE BULBS IMMEDIATELY
AFTERUSE.THE BULBSWILLREMAINHOT
FOR SEVERAL MINUTES.
• DO NOT PLACE HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MA-
TERIAL ONWARMING SHELVES.
• DO NOT EXCEED 20 POUNDS ON EACH
WARMING SHELF.
FILTERS
Your hood has removable filters located at rear section of
the hood. To remove filters,pull the tab handle down until
the filter top is free over the bump on the light cover.
NOTE: DO NOT USE COOKTOPWHILE HOOD
IS DISASSEMBLED.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION: DISCONNECT POWER TO THE.
UNIT AT THE SWITCH PANEL BEFORE
CLEANING OR SERVICING THE HOOD VEN-
TILATOR.VACUUM VENTILATOR TO CLEAN.
DO NOT IMMERSEVENTILATOR INWATER.
For maximum efficiency, clean filter and hood regularly.
Do not allow grease to accumulate on the hood or the
ventilator surface.
To Clean the Filters:Remove the filters as previously
described.They may be washed in the dishwasher or
washed in hot sudsy water; drain and dry before rein-
stalling.
ToClean PaintedHood Surfaces:Usemild dish wash-
ingdetergent forcleaning allhoodsurfaces.Formula 409®,
Fantastic®and Soft Scrub®may be used occasionally with
only light pressure, if needed,on hood surfaces but not
on graphics.Always rinse and dry with cloth for maxi-
mum luster.
To Clean Stainless Steel Hood Surfaces: Stainless
Steel is easy to keep clean. For general care, clean with
hot sudsy water,or household cleaner such as Fantastic
or Formula 409,rinse well and dry with a clean soft cloth
to avoid water marks.
For discolorations or deposits on areas that do not have
graphics,use a non-scratching household cleaner with a
little water and a soft cloth, or a stainless steel polishing
cleaner such as RevereWare® Metal Polish. Be sure to
rublightlyin thedirectionof thepolishing linesor "grain".
Avoid using to much pressure which may mar the sur-
face.Do not use RevereWare Metal Polish on the graph-

To remove fingerprints and give added shine, use spray
cleaners such as Stainless Steel Magic®and Shimmer®,
again rubbing in direction of the polish lines.
DO NOT USE STEELWOOL as small bits may ad-
here to the surface causing rust.
DO NOTALLOW any cleaning compounds to remain
incontact withstainless steelforextended periods.Many
ofthese compoundscontainchemicals whichcouldprove
harmful.
KEEP HOT SHELF (Optional)
KEEP HOT SHELVES are removable and are dish-
washer safe or may be washed in hot sudsy water.Rinse
and dry thoroughly

All repair labor and replacement parts found to be defective due to materials and workmanship.

Thermador Will Not Pay For:
1. Service by an unauthorized agency. Damage or repairs due to service by an unauthorized agency or the use of
unauthorized parts.
2. Service visits to:
• Teach you how to use the appliance.
• Correct defects or repairs due to improper installation.You are responsible for providing electrical wiring and
other connecting facilities.
• Reset circuit breakers or replace home fuses.
• Damage caused from accident,alteration,misuse,abuse,improper installation or installation not in accordance
with local electrical codes or plumbing codes,or improper storage of the appliance.
• Service labor during limited warranty period.
• Travel fees and associated charges incurred when the product is installed in a location with limited or re-
stricted access.(i.e.,airplane flights,ferry charges,isolated geographic regions).
• Repairs due to other than normal home use.
This warranty applies to appliances used in residential applications;it does not cover their use in commercial installa-
tions.
The warranty is for products purchased and retained in the 50 states of the U. S.A., the District of Columbia and
Canada. Should the appliance be sold by the original purchaser during the warranty period,the new owner continues
to be protected until the expiration date of the original purchaser's warranty period. Products for use in Canada must
be purchased through the Canadian distribution channel to ensure regulatory compliance.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights.You may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Thermador
