1 Intended Use This unit is intended for storage of non-flammable general laboratory products.
The Refrigerators/Freezers described in this manual are for professional use only.
These products are intended for use in research for the storage of samples or
inventory in the following temperature ranges:
Refrigerators +1 °C to +12 °C
Freezers -12 °C to -20 °C
These are not considered medical devices and have therefore not been registered
with a medical device regulatory body (e.g. FDA): that is, it has not been
evaluated for the storage of samples for diagnostic use or for samples to be
re-introduced to the body.
WARNING: DO NOT store flammable materials in this unit - risk of fire
or explosion.
1.1 Inspection for
Damage
At delivery, examine the exterior for physical damage while the carrier’s
representative is present.
If there is no exterior damage, unpack and inspect the equipment within five days
of delivery. If you find any damage, keep the packing materials and immediately
report the damage to the carrier. Do not return goods without written
authorization. When submitting a claim for shipping damage, request that the
carrier inspect the shipping container and equipment.

4 Introduction This manual provides installation, operation and maintenance instructions for
ADA under-counters General Purpose laboratory Refrigerator & Freezer models.
All models, includes :
• Factory set temperature set point
• Keyed door locks
• CFC-free refrigerant
• Quiet, hermetically sealed refrigeration compressors.

5 Installation
Instruction
5.1 Basic Installation This product is a complete packaged unit ready to operate when plugged into an
electrical source. Read all the instructions before proceeding with installation.
1. The cabinet will pass through a standard 30’’ door opening.
2. Remove the exterior and interior packaging.
3. CAUTION Before connecting the unit to a power source, let it stand
for approximately 2 hours. This will reduce the possibility of a
malfunction in the cooling system from handling during transportation.
4. Choose well ventilated area with temperatures above 15 ° C and below 
32 ° C . Unit should be installed in an area protected from the elements
such as wind, rain, water spray etc.
5. Move the cabinet into the desired location. Make sure the bottom of the
cabinet is evenly supported. When moving the unit, be careful not to
damage the power cord.
6. Make certain the cabinet is located so the front grill is unobstructed.
7. The unit is shipped in ready to operate condition. Adjustment of
operating temperatures or set point is not necessary and if changed, may
adversely affect unit performance.
8. Use of electrical supply, other than that specified on the serial plate will
cause permanent damage to the product.
9. WARNING Do not connect or Disconnect when your hands are wet.
10. Do not use extension cord with this appliance.
5.2 Door Handle
Installation
The door has two screw holes on each side, allowing you to install a handle
(included). To do so, align the handle with the screw holes on the side you prefer.
Fix the handle in place with the included screws, then cover the screw heads with
the handle seal (included).

5.3 Reversing The Door
Swing • This appliance can be opened from either the right side or the left. By
default, the door hinge is on the right side. If you prefer it on the left,
please follow below instructions. Holes on the opposite side have already
been prepared at the factory.
All of the parts that are removed must be kept for the reinstallation of the door.
1. Unscrew the lower hinge and take off the door.
2. Push the kick plate to the right in the new position.
3. Undo the upper hinge fastener and fix it to the opposite side of the
housing, where you have already removed and replaced the fastener with
the hole to the opposite side.
4. Put the door on the upper hinge fastener.
5. Fix the lower hinge in the new position.
6. Unscrew the handle and place it on the opposite side.
7. Some screws are covered with caps. Take off these caps before undoing
the screws.
8. Check the door gasket. It should not be creased and should seal well.

5.4 Clearance Appropriate clearance should be maintained for proper operation of the unit. Be-
low table details the clearance needed for refrigerator and freezer:

6.1 Refrigerator
(05LRAETSA)
6.1.1 Temperature Control • Operate the unit for several hours to allow the cabinet to reach normal
operating temperatures before storing product.
• Your appliance’s evaporator system is out of sight behind the interior
rear wall.
• The interior temperature is controlled with a thermostat knob located
inside the unit, towards the upper right-hand corner. Turn the knob
clockwise from the STOP (0) position toward the higher numbers for
colder temperatures. Higher settings on the knob (higher numbers)
mean lower temperatures (colder) in the refrigerator & freezer.
• Use higher thermostat settings only when required or as recommended
by qualified technician.
• Changes in the ambient temperature affect the temperature inside the
refrigerator so choose an appropriate setting of the thermostat knob,
depending on ambient conditions.
• In the STOP (0) position, the appliance does not operate (the cooling
system is switched off), yet the power supply is not interrupted (the
light still works).
• The temperature inside the refrigerator & freezer also depends on how
often you open the door.
Note
• Shelves are adjustable in refrigerators. These shelves stop short an inch before
the back wall, which is essential for air flow. Do not block these gaps.
• Lights on the units are controlled by a manually-operated rocker switch. To
maintain the proper interior temperature, keep the light on only as long as
necessary.
• If the refrigerator is unplugged, has lost power, or is turned off, you must
wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting it. If you attempt to restart before this
time delay, the unit will not start.

6.1.2 Defrosting Your
Appliance
This product operates using a manual defrost system. While the compressor is
operating, ice will build along the rear cold wall (the evaporator plate is behind
the wall). During the compressor’s off-cycle, ice will melt, drip down, collect in
the trough at the bottom and drain through a small hole into a tray above the
compressor, where the compressor’s heat will evaporate the water. If you notice
excessive ice build-up on the rear wall, please switch off the unit and allow it to
defrost manually. It is advisable to transfer the contents of the unit to a colder
location before starting the defrost process.
6.2 Freezer

6.2.1 Temperature Control • Operate the unit for several hours to allow the cabinet to reach normal
operating temperatures before storing product.
• The temperature control is located on the kick plate of the freezer, in the
upper right corner above the door. Interior temperature is controlled by
the controller. Controller setting is done @ factory for optimum
performance.
• Please contact qualified technician before you change set point.
6.2.2 Defrost Instructions • During the normal operation the controller shows the cabinet
temperature
• To activate the defrost manually, press and hold for 4 seconds
•YellowLED ON - compressor is running
• Yellow LED Flashes – the modification of the “Set Point” in
progress, compressor protection “C0” or “C2”
•YellowLED ON – defrost in progress
Note If the unit is unplugged, has lost power, or is turned off, you must wait 3 to
5 minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time
delay, the freezer will not start.

7.1 Cleaning Instructions
• Unplug the appliance, remove all contents, including shelves & drawers.
• Wash the inside surfaces with a solution of lukewarm water and vinegar.
Wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth.
• Wash the shelves, drip tray and crisper with a mild detergent solution,
then rinse and dry thoroughly.
• Wash the outside cabinet with a solution of warm water and mild liquid
detergent. Rinse well and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.
• Wring excess water out of the sponge or cloth before cleaning the area of
the temperature control or any electrical parts.
• In Freezer, from time to time, wipe the condenser on the rear wall with a
soft non-metallic brush or vacuum cleaner. Failure to keep the
condenser fins free of dirt and lint will hamper operation and may affect
performance negatively.
• The condensate pan is located above the compressor. This pan should be
cleaned at least once a year.
• After you have cleaned the appliance, reconnect it to the power supply,
and return all contents to their place.
WARNING: Failure to unplug the unit could result in electrical shock or
personal injury.

8.1 Common Issues
Symptom Possible Cause of Problem
Unit not operating. Make certain that the unit is connected to a grounded
outlet.
Make certain that the temperature control is ON in freezers
and thermostat knob is not at “0” position in Refrigerators.
Check that circuit breaker is not tripped or fuse is not
blown.
Unit runs
continuously.
Make certain that there is no heavy frost accumulation. If
yes, please defrost the unit.
Look at condenser to see if there is layer of dust or lint.
Clean if required with a dry brush or vacuum.
Aleak around the door gasket will allow cold air to escape.
This causes unit to work harder than necessary to maintain
cold temperatures.
Re-seat or replace the gasket if worn.
If you have temperature set too cold, this may cause unit to
run Continuously. Call service technician for factory
settings.
Is the ambient air over 32ºC, or the units located close to
heat sources? If possible, move to a different location.
Noise problems. This can be caused by contents of unit being set too close
and rattling against each other. Rearrange contents as
needed.
Hissing or gurgling noise is caused by refrigerating fluid
circulating and is normal.
Noise can result if unit is not level on floor. Check with
level.

Warranty
This product is warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for
one (13) months from the first to occur of (i) the date the product is sold by the
manufacturer or (ii) the date the product is purchased by the original retail
customer (the “Commencement Date”). Except as expressly stated above, the
MANUFACTURER MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR
IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCTS AND EXPRESSLY
DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT
LIMITED TO, WARRANTIES OF DESIGN, MERCHANT ABILITY AND
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
An authorized representative of the manufacturer must perform all warranty
inspections. In the event of a defect covered by the warranty, we shall, as our sole
obligation and exclusive remedy, provide free replacement parts to remedy the
defective product. In addition, for products sold within the continental United
States or Canada, the manufacturer shall provide free labor to repair the products
with the replacement parts, but only for a period of ninety (90) days from the
Commencement Date.
The warranty provided hereunder shall be null and void and without further
force or effect if there is any (i) repair made to the product by a party other than
the manufacturer or its duly authorized service representative, (ii) misuse
(including use inconsistent with written operating instructions for the product),
mishandling, contamination, overheating, modification or alteration of the
product by any customer or third party or (iii) use of replacement parts that are
obtained from a party who is not an authorized dealer of products.
Heating elements, because of their susceptibility to overheating and
contamination, must be returned to the factory and if, upon inspection, it is
concluded that failure is due to factors other than excessive high temperature or
contamination, the manufacturer will provide warranty replacement. As a
condition to the return of any product, or any constituent part thereof, to the
factory, it shall be sent prepaid and a prior written authorization from the
manufacturer assigning a Return Materials Number to the product or part shall
be obtained.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE MANUFACTURER BE LIABLE TO ANY
PARTY FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY DAMAGES RESULTING
FROM LOSS OF USE OR PROFITS, ANTICIPATED OR OTHERWISE,
ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE, USE OR
PERFORMANCE OF ANY PRODUCTS, WHETHER SUCH CLAIM IS
BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), ANY
THEORY OF STRICT LIABILITY OR REGULATORY ACTION.
