Wall Mounting
The SCSis mountable,
eithervertically or horizontally, to flat surfaces
suchaswalls.Mounting screwsandrubber
bump-onsare
providedfor this type installation.Therearetwo openingson therearof thecabinet
for wall mounting.With
thecabinet
positioned
vertically, thevertical mount openingisjust above
theinput panel.In this vertical position,the
horizontalmount openingis to thesideof theinput panel.
1)Positionthemounting screwon thewall 3 inches
abovewhereyou want thecenter
of thespeakerto be.This will be5
inchesbelow thetop of thespeakerif it is beingmounted
vertically, andll lqinchesif mounted
horizontally. Because
each
speakerweighsover23pounds,
it isnecessary
to secure
thescrewto awall stud,framing or otherstructure
thatcansafely
supportthis amountof weight. The2t

providedis intended
for normal walls with l
lz inchdry wall; if you have
different construction
you will need
alongerscrew.Install themounting screwso that3lqinchof thescrewremainsabovethe
mounting surface.
2) Removetherubberbump-onsfrom the sheetandplaceonebump-onnear
eachcorneron therearof thecabinet.The
bump-onswill keepthecabinetawayfrom themounting surfaceto prevent
unwanted
vibrationsor rattles.They alsoadd
spaceneededto run speakercables.
3) Connectthespeakercables
to theinput panelon therearof thespeaker
(see
connectioninsffuctions)beforemounting.
4) Locatetheproperopening(for horizontalor vertical) on therearof thecabinetandplace
thelargepart of theopening
overthescrewhead,
pushingthe speakeragainst
thewall until thebump-onsmakecontact
with thewall. (It is importantthat
theproper3
h inchof screwlengthremains
beyondthemounting surfaceto ensurea securemount.) Thenpull thespeaker
down until it is tight against
thewall.
5) Testthesecurityof themounting. It shouldnot bepossible
to movethespeaker
awayfrom thewall. If you can,the
speakershouldbepushed
down moreover themounting screw.
To removethespeakerfrom thewall it is importantthatthespeakerfirst belifted approximately1lz
inchbefore it is
pulled from thewall. If you pull thespeakervery hardwithout first lifting it, damagemay result.
