Description
The EC2U, EC3U, and EC4U 19" Rack Enclosures for Electronics are designed for customers interested in
assembling their own 19" rack-mounted electronic devices. The front and rear panels of the enclosure are
blank; input and output ports can be added by the user depending on the application. The interior of the
enclosure contains either four (EC2U and EC3U) or seven (EC4U) M3 taps for securing the ECUMB mounting
board or MSBU3038(/M) breadboard and the bottom of the enclosure has four M4 taps for attaching the ECUF
Rubber Feet. The enclosures are available with a rack unit (U) height of either 2U (3.48"), 3U (5.23"), or 4U
(6.98").

Quick Start
Removing the Top Cover
Note: For easier initial opening, not all screws will be
factory installed. All screws are included in the package.
1. Using the included 2 mm hex key, ensure all
the countersunk head cap screws are removed
from the top cover to open the box. There are
five M3 taps on the back of the enclosure and
six M3 taps on the bottom of the enclosure, as
shown in the image to the right.
2. Hold the front panel and slide the top cover
towards the rear of the enclosure to remove.
Removing the Front Panel
1. Remove the top cover.
2. Remove the two M4 countersunk head screws
with the included 2.5 mm hex key. The head
screws are located on the top corners of the
front panel.
3. Remove the top frame containing the
countersunk M4 taps.
4. Slide the front panel up and out.
Removing the Rear Panel
1. Remove the top cover.
2. With a #2 Phillips head screwdriver (not
included), remove the two M4 flat head screws
in the top corners of the rear panel.
3. Pull the rear panel off.
