2. Characteristics
2.1 TKS2012-A
Anti-decubitus bubble mattress with pump is a set which includes a pressure alternating
mattress and a compressor (air pump). The mattress is made of durable PVC in the form of
bubble chambers which are alternately inflated in cycles by the compressor (air pump). By
changing support points of the person lying on the bed, this set minimizes pressure on the
parts of the body which are the most at risk from bedsores and allows avoiding or reducing
skin damage. The PVC used in the mattress is made of a non-toxic and hypoallergenic
material.
The set includes:
•Alternating pressure pump TKS2012
•Air hoses
•Bubble mattress
2.2 TKS2012-B1
Anti-decubitus strip mattress with pump is a set which includes a pressure alternating
mattress and a compressor (air pump). The mattress is made of durable PVC with nylon in
the form of transverse chambers which are alternately inflated in cycles by the compressor
(air pump). By changing support points of the person lying on the bed, this set minimizes
pressure on the parts of the body which are the most at risk from bedsores and allows
avoiding or reducing skin damage. The PVC used in the mattress is made of a non-toxic and
hypoallergenic material. The mattress is equipped with CPR function.
The set includes:

•Alternating pressure pump TKS2012
•Strip mattress
•CPR function
•Cover
•Spare fuse
•Air hoses
3. Application
Anti-decubitus mattresses with pump are equipment designed for people at risk of bedsores.
Anti-decubitus mattress helps people who are bedridden for an extended period of time,
who suffer from blood flow disorders in peripheral circulatory system, as well as when signs
of subcutaneous or open skin damage caused by long-term pressure occur. The mattress is
used to prevent bedsores and treat stage I (according to NPUAP / EPUAP) bedsores. The
mattress works by cyclically changing support points of the person lying on the bed,
minimizing pressure on the parts of the body which have the greatest risk of bedsores. This
improves circulation of the tissues of the body parts which remain in contact with the bed
surface for the longest period. It should be noted that the mattress operating principle
described above cannot eliminate all causes of skin lesions; however, it can significantly limit
their development. Contraindications for use of alternating pressure mattresses are
determined by a physician based on a physical examination and medical history. As a general
guideline, the mattress is contraindicated if alternating changes of support points cause pain
and an exacerbation of the patient’s condition.
4. Assembly and general recommendations for use
Note! Follow the information contained in this manual while assembly and adjustment.
Users with reduced mobility may need help from a third person who has appropriate skills.
Note! Do not use the mattress before it is fully pumped.
STEP 1
Place the mattress on the bed directly on top of the regular mattress. The flaps at each end
of the pressure relief mattress should be tucked under the regular mattress to limit
movement of one mattress relative to the other. Next, cover the mattress with the cover

included in the set. It is recommended to secure the mattress with a hygienic vapour-
permeable mattress pad or cotton sheet in order to prevent it from being soiled.
STEP 2
The hook of the pump should be opened to the desired width and hung on the bed frame.
STEP 3
The pump and the mattress should be connected with air hoses so that they are not kinked
or trapped under the mattress. Make sure that the hoses are properly fastened and do not
come out from the ports.
STEP 4
Plug in the pump using the power cord, taking extra care while doing this.
STEP 5
To start the pump, press the ON button on the control panel. The pressure relief mattress
will then start to inflate.
STEP 6
Set the pressure dial at the maximum value. The preparation time (the first inflation) prior to
use takes 24 minutes (two full cycles).
Note! You can only use the mattress after 24 minutes from starting the mattress
STEP 7
Following complete inflation, set appropriate pressure value with the use of adjustment
knob. Then, the mattress is ready to use.
Note! The compressor works by pumping the air alternately into the chambers of the
mattress and for this purpose it must be constantly on. The OFF switch on the control panel

is only used to turn off the compressor when nobody is using the mattress. Reusing the
mattress requires a start-up procedure (see STEP 6 and 7).

possible.

Note! The mattress may only be used on flat surfaces. The mattress should be protected
against sharp objects and should not be laid directly on bed springs or bed frames with sharp
edges.
Note! The air pump should not be used if the power cord or plug is damaged and in case of
apparent product failure, for example, insufficient pumping force. The air pump should not
be connected to damaged extension cords or electric outlets.
Note! Keep the mattress and air pump away from heat sources. Keep away from open
flames and flammable substances.
Note! The pump should not be used in an improper operating environment or come in
contact with water or other fluids.
Note! The air pump should not be placed under the bed or in places where the air flow to
the air pump may be limited, e.g. under bedding.
Note! The air pump cover must not be removed due to the risk of electric shock.
Note! A worn out or damaged air pump should be taken to a recycling center for electrical
and electronic products. Do not dispose of the air pump together with other municipal
waste.
Note! When the mattress is not in use, turn off the air pump using the OFF button on the
control panel; after the air pump is turned back on, the operating instructions must be
followed.
Note! Do not pull the hoses connecting the air pump with the mattress. This can cause
damage to the mattress.

Note! Only use original spare parts admitted to operation by the manufacturer. For this
purpose, contact with the retailer.

maintenance of the product, failure to comply safety regulations and misuse.
7. Maintenance
Check the condition of the mattress and air pump regularly:

a) Before each use: check whether the air hoses are properly mounted in the ports,
there is no air leak from the mattress, the air pump works smoothly and efficiently.
b) Every 6 months: it is recommended to do review at the service point indicated by the
manufacturer (according to the applicable service price list).
In case of FAILURE you should contact customer support to determine the cause of the
problem.
8. Fuse exchange
A blown fuse is the most common cause of air pump failure.
The fuse for self-replacement is mounted on the front of the compressor. A spare fuse is
included with the mattress.
Note! Before fuse exchange turn off the air pump and unplug the power cord from the
socket
Note! When the air pump is still not working after fuse exchange, contact with the retailer.
9. Cleaning
Clean the mattress and the air pump with a damp cloth using mild cleaning product. Do not
get the mattress and air pump wet and dry them thoroughly after each maintenance. The
use of strong cleaning products or detergents can damage the product.
Note! Dry away from heat sources.
Note! Before cleaning turn off the air pump and unplug the power cord from the socket
