purification technology. Attempting any modifications or
tampering in any way with its operation other than laid out in
this manual will void its warranty.
In the event of product damage or missing parts, please
contact your authorized dealer immediately.
This is not a dust filter! This device purifies and disinfects air
from organic pollutants. For extremely dusty environments,
use in conjunction with a third-party air filtering appliance.
Dear customer!
Thank you for purchasing the TIOKRAFT VL20 -an advanced air purification device designed to

2. TIOKRAFT VL20 OVERVIEW
The TIOKRAFT VL20 air cleaner- disinfectant is intended for purification of indoor air, including
reduction of viral, microbial and other micro particulate contamination exceeding 10nm (0.01
microns), where such purification must be carried out during human presence.
The air purifier TIOKRAFT VL20 is designed for efficient molecular purification of air from
miniscule organic pollutants, bacteria, viruses, fungi and mold spores in poorly ventilated
rooms. Purification of air from organic impurities (including pathogenic microflora) occurs
through their oxidation on the filtering element, as a result of which such impurities are
completely decomposed into trace amounts of water vapor and carbon dioxide.
The TIOKRAFT VL20 air purifier is recommended for purification of indoor air from all organic
microparticles in areas requiring surgical-grade air purity –including households with people
suffering from allergies (spores and pollen), library archives (mold and fungus), public places
such as fitness clubs, restaurants, hotel and office lobbies (bacteria and viruses) and just about
any work place where air quality is strictly regulated.

6. TERMS OF USE
Normal operating conditions:
•ambient temperature from +10°Cto +35°C
•relative humidity up to 85% (non- condensing)
•approximate room size up to 16-18 square meters.
7. STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
The device should be stored in its original packaging in a dry and cool (from -30°Cto +50°C)
place, away from exposure to moisture, heat sources and direct sunlight. Storage without
original packaging is allowed indoors at ambient temperature from +5°Cto +40°C and relative
residual humidity not exceeding 80%. After storage, the device should be unpacked at an
ambient temperature of +5°Cto +40°C and relative residual humidity not more than 85%.
The product should be transported in covered vehicles, taking care to protect the package
contents from excessive shocks and bumps.
Dropping or throwing the device is not permitted as it may result in fracturing and breaking of
the glass filtering element and UV lamps, leading to the device losing its effectiveness as well as
loss of warranty.
8. PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
Operation of the device is based on photocatalytic
oxidation of organic impurities on a porous glass surface
nanocoated with crystalline titanium dioxide (the PC-
element). Photocatalysis occurs under long-range soft
UV radiation (~365nm). Natural convection occurring
inside the device due to heat from UV lamps (see. Fig.2)
draws cooler air into the device through vents at the
bottom at a rate of about 25 cubic meters (about 883
cubic feet) per hour. Organic particulate (airborne
volatile organic compounds, bacteria and viruses) greater
than 10nm is adsorbed on the surface of the PC-element,
where it is subsequently mineralized by UV radiation
primarily into trace amounts of carbon dioxide and water
vapor.
The PC-element is made of a proprietary inert porous
glass material; it is unaffected by UV radiation and the
process of photocatalysis. Under normal use conditions
the PC-element does not require any maintenance and
has an unlimited life span.

Please keep in mind the following:
•The device is designed to be powered by a ~230V /
50Hz network;
•The device will properly and safely function only if
placed or installed vertically;
•Recommended location is about 0.5-1m (1.5-3ft)
from the floor;
•The ventilation slots of the device (Fig. 3) must always
remain unobstructed.
•The device is switched ON and OFF by pressing the
ON/OFF switch at the bottom of the device.
•When starting at room temperature, the device
needs about 20-30 minutes to warm up and reach
full operational capacity;
•For best results it is recommended to keep the device
on continuously.

9. OPERATION
Prior to switching on the device for the first time, ensure that it is approximately at room
temperature to avoid excess condensation on the PC-element, UV lamp and internal electric
components.
10. CARE AND MAINTENANCE
It is recommended to periodically wipe the outside of
the device with a damp cloth. Never use rubbing
alcohol, acetone or other solvents to clean the device.
When the device is turned off for a long time and/or
stored, it must be put in a place with minimum levels of
dust to prevent dust particles from entering through the
air vents as this will detrimentally affect device
performance.
With continuous operation, the device does not require
any maintenance.

11. REPLACEMENT OF UV LAMPS
UV lamps installed in the device are designed for a non-stop, continuous service life of about
3 years. Thereafter UV radiation output begins to degrade, leading to a loss of efficiency of
about 25-30%. Replacement of the UV lamps will restore the TIOKRAFT VL20 to its original
efficiency.
Replacement of UV lamps is simple and does not require any special skills or tools.
Follow the steps below (Fig. 4):
1. Place the device on a flat horizontal surface with the back cover facing up.
2. Unscrew the fixing screw M3, slide the bottom cover in direction A and remove it by
gently pulling in direction B (up).
3. Flip the bottom cover 180 degrees and place it side by side, providing access to the UV
lamps.
4. Unclip the upper end of the UV lamps and remove them from the device.
5. Install new UV lamps and assemble the device in the reverse order.
6. Your TIOKRAFT VL20 is good to go for another 3 years!
The photocatalytic element plates (PC-element) require no
maintenance throughout the lifecycle of the device.

12. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The device is designed for wall mounted installation as this allows to optimize long term air
purification efficiency. Ideally the device should be switched on once and left alone until
servicing or maintenance is required. If wall mounting is impossible for any reason, please use
the desktop stand supplied with the device.
Step 1. Select installation location
At least 1m away from direct heat sources;
•Ensure that nothing will obstruct air vents at bottom and top of device after installation;
•Rigid wall without vibration.
Step 2. Wall hole drilling
Determine the wall hole position using the provide TIOKRAFT VL20 wall mount as a template.
•Drill one hole about 4-5cm deep;
•Insert an appropriate dowel into the hole;
•Securely screw in a screw, taking care to leave about 5mm of the screw head outside of
wall;
•Hang the wall mount onto the screw and attach the device to it.
13. RECYCLING AND DISPOSAL
The product must be disposed of in accordance with the requirements of SanPiN 2.1.7.2790-10
"Sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the management of medical waste" (Class A) or
similar.
