APPEARANCE
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The HLS46S-8 is a 460 (18 in.) low-frequency loud-
speaker designed for professional applications in high
level sound reinforce ent environ ents where high
efficiency, supper low frequency range, and faithful
reproduction are required, such as studios, theaters,
concert halls, auditoriu s, discos, and in live sound
reinforce ent applications. The HLS46S-8 offers excep-
tionally high power handling capacity, ultra linearity in
supper low frequency range, and a unifor frequency
response fro 20 Hz to 3,000 Hz. A crossover frequency
of 1,000 Hz or lower is reco ended to obtain s ooth-
est overall syste response. The loudspeaker e ploys a
low- ass 100 (4 in.) dia eter voice coil of edge-
wound copper-clad alu inu ribbon on an alu inu
coil for , which operates in a flux density of 13,600
gauss. The voice coil is driven by a powerful ferrite
agnet, which is supported by a rugged diecast alu i-
nu fra e. The cone suspension is ade of exception-
ally high co pliance cloth surround, da ped.
