1. Introduction
To all residents of the European Union
Important environmental information about this product
This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal of the device after its lifecycle could
harm the environment. Do not dispose of the unit (or batteries) as unsorted municipal waste; it should
be taken to a specialized company for recycling. This device should be returned to your distributor or to
a local recycling service. Respect the local environmental rules.
If in doubt, contact your local waste disposal authorities.
Thank you for choosing Toolland. Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing this device into service. If
the device was damaged in transit, do not install or use it and contact your dealer.
2. Safety Instructions
Keep this device away from children and unauthorized users.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children shall be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside the device. Refer to an authorized dealer for service and/or
spare parts.
Always disconnect mains power when the device is not in use or when servicing or maintenance
activities are performed. Handle the power cord by the plug only.
Do not crimp the power cord and protect it against damage. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a
hazard.
Do not use the device when damage to housing or cables is noticed. Do not attempt to service the
device yourself but contact an authorised dealer.
Class II: this device is designed with double insulation.
Always wear eye and ear protection, gloves and a dust mask when using this device.
Work Area
Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
Do not operate electric devices in explosive atmospheres and in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
Keep bystanders and children away while operating the device. Distractions can cause you to lose control of
the device.
Electrical Safety
Never modify the plug or power cord in any way. Do not use adapters with earthed devices.
Avoid any body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
Do not expose the device to rain or wet conditions. Water entering the device will increase the risk of
electric shock.
When using the device outside, use an extension cable suitable for outside use.
If use of the device in humid locations is unavoidable, connect the device to a power supply protected by an
RCD (Residual Current Differential) device.

Personal Safety
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the device. Do not use the
device when you are tired or under influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
Avoid unintentional starting. Make sure the switch is on the off position before plugging the device into the
mains and/or fitting the batteries, picking it up or carrying it. Do not carry the device with your finger on
the on-off switch. Do not plug in the device with the switch in the on position.
Remove any adjusting key before operating the device. A key left attached to the rotating part of the tool
can result in personal injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper position and balance at all times.
Dress in a suitable manner. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing and gloves away
from moving parts.
If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection equipment, make sure that they
are connected and used properly.
Use the auxiliary handle provided with the device. Hold the device by the insulated gripping surfaces when
performing an operation where cutting accessories may contact hidden wiring or its own cord.
Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and other construction activities contain
chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. To reduce exposure to harmful
chemicals, work in a well-ventilated area with approved protective clothing.
The Device
Do not force the device. Use the correct device for your application.
Do not use the device if the switch does not make it possible to change from the operating condition to stop
and vice versa. Any device which cannot be controlled by the switch is dangerous and should be repaired.
Disconnect the power cord before any adjustment, changing an accessory or before storing the device.
Keep an idle device out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the device or these
instructions to operate it.
Maintain the device. Check that there is no misalignment or obstruction of the moving or broken parts, or
any other condition that could affect the operation of the device. In the event of damage, have the device
repaired before using it.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Use the device, accessories and blades in accordance with these instructions, while taking into account the
work conditions and the work to be done.
3. General Guidelines
Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.
Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when operating the device.
Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it.
All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user modifications to
the device is not covered by the warranty.
Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short circuits, burns, electroshocks,
crash, etc. Using the device in an unauthorized way will void the warranty.
Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the
dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
Do not switch the device on immediately after it has been exposed to changes in temperature. Protect the
device against damage by leaving it switched off until it has reached room temperature.
Keep this manual for future reference.

6. Assembly
WARNING
The device must be fully assembled before operation.
Do not use a device that is only partly assembled or assembled with damaged parts.
Follow the assembly instructions step by step and use the pictures as guide.
Do not connect the device to the power supply before it is completely assembled.
6.1 Shaft
1. Align the shaft ends with each other and assemble the lower shaft into the upper shaft.
2. Secure the connection with the bolt.
6.2 Front Handle
1. Align and assemble the front handle onto the upper shaft.
2. Secure the connection with the bolt.
6.3 Guard
1. Align and place the guard onto the trimmer head.
2. Secure the connection with the screws.

6.4 Connection to the Power Supply
1. Make sure the on-off switch is in the off position.
2. Double the power cord, about 30 cm from the end and lead the loop through the hole on the safeguard.
3. Pull it over the cord retainer and gently tug on the cord to ensure that it is firmly secured.
4. Connect the power cord to a suitable socket.
7. Operation
Make sure the device is connected to the mains. Squeeze the on-off switch to switch on the device; release to
switch off.
Line Feeding
During use, the trimming line will get shorter due to
wear. We recommend to regularly check its length
and adjust if necessary. The trimmer spool is
equipped with a bumper helping to feed the trimming
line while using the device. To adjust the line length,
just tap the bumper [11d] on solid ground and the
spool will release trimming line. Excess line will be
cut by the knife and should always remain inside the
radius of the guard.
Note that the feeding system only works when the
device is switched on.
WARNING
Excess trimming line will be thrown out. Danger of injury for bystanders.
Trimming
Hold the device firmly with a gap between the device and your right side. Stand upright, do not lean forward
and pay attention to your posture. Keep both feet apart to help retain your balance.
Hold the cutting head just above the ground at an angle of approximately 30°. Move the device with a slow and
regular arc from left to right, before moving it back to the starting position and trimming the next area.

Ensure the cutting attachment remains clean and free from cut-offs that may cause it to jam. Check regularly.
Release the on-off switch and disconnect the device from the power supply before checking.
For best results, do not cut long grass in one cut and trim in stages.
Tips
For best results, do not cut wet grass as it tends to
stick to the cutting head and guard, prevents proper
discharge of grass trimmings, and could cause you to
slip and fall.
Pay special attention when performing the work close
to trees and bushes. The cutting head could damage
sensitive bark, and damage fence posts.
Note that the trimming line will wear faster and
require more feeding if cutting is done along
sidewalks or other abrasive surfaces or heavier
weeds are being cut.
After Use
Switch off after use, disconnect from the mains and let it cool down. Check, clean and store as described below.
8. Cleaning and Maintenance
Keep the ventilation openings clear, clean and dust-free at all times.
If the device is running erratically or something unusual occurs during use, immediately switch off the
device and unplug from the mains. Inspect the device before using it again. Repair must only be carried out
by a qualified technician.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified technician.
Wipe with a damp cloth to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong
detergents.
Clean the device and accessories before storing.
Storing
Store the device, its accessories and this user manual in the original packaging.
Always store in a cool and dry place.
Transportation
Always carry the device by its handles.
Protect the device from heavy impacts and strong vibrations which may occur during transportation in
vehicles.
Secure the device to prevent it from slipping or falling over.

Trimmer Spool
Refer to the illustrations on page 2 of this manual.
Replace the trimmer spool when it is empty or worn.
1. Make sure the on-off switch is in the off position.
2. Turn the device over. Hold the trimmer head steady with one hand. Rotate the cover anticlockwise to
disengage the latches from the housing.
3. Remove the cover together with the trimmer spool. Discard all trimming line on the spool.
4. Clean the housing before inserting a new spool of the same type. Lead the trimming line endings through
the eyelets of the cover.
5. Refit the cover onto the housing and rotate it clockwise to secure it. Ensure the cover is correctly fitted
before releasing it.

1. Inleiding

Belangrijke milieu-informatie betreffende dit product
Dit symbool op het toestel of de verpakking geeft aan dat, als het na zijn levenscyclus wordt
weggeworpen, dit toestel schade kan toebrengen aan het milieu. Gooi dit toestel (en eventuele
batterijen) niet bij het gewone huishoudelijke afval; het moet bij een gespecialiseerd bedrijf
terechtkomen voor recyclage. U moet dit toestel naar uw verdeler of naar een lokaal recyclagepunt
brengen. Respecteer de plaatselijke milieuwetgeving.

2. Veiligheidsvoorschriften
Houd dit toestel buiten het bereik van kinderen en onbevoegden.
Dit toestel is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen (kinderen inbegrepen) met verminderde
fysieke, zintuiglijke of geestelijke capaciteiten of gebrek aan ervaring en kennis, tenzij zij onder
toezicht staan of instructie hebben gekregen over het gebruik van het toestel van een persoon die
verantwoordelijk is voor hun veiligheid.
Houd toezicht op kinderen om te voorkomen dat ze met het toestel spelen.
Er zijn geen onderdelen in het toestel die door de gebruiker gerepareerd kunnen worden. Contacteer
uw verdeler voor eventuele reserveonderdelen.
Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact wanneer het toestel niet in gebruik is of voordat u het toestel
reinigt. Houd de voedingskabel altijd vast bij de stekker en niet bij de kabel.
De voedingskabel mag niet beschadigd zijn of ingekort worden. Indien de voedingskabel beschadigd
is, dan moet deze door de fabrikant, diens servicedienst, of een gelijkwaardig bekwaam persoon
vervangen worden om gevaar te voorkomen.
Gebruik het toestel niet indien de behuizing of de bekabeling beschadigd is. Probeer in geen geval het
toestel zelf te repareren maar contacteer uw verdeler.
KLASSE II: Dit toestel is uitgerust met dubbele isolatie.
Draag altijd oog- en gehoorbescherming, handschoenen en een masker tijdens het gebruik.
Werkplaats
Werk enkel in een goed verlichte werkplaats. Een rommelige of onverlichte werkomgeving kan tot
ongevallen leiden.
Gebruik elektrische toestellen niet in een omgeving met explosiegevaar waarin zich brandbare vloeistoffen,
brandbare gassen of stoffen bevinden.
Houd omstanders en kinderen op afstand wanneer u het toestel gebruikt. Wanneer u wordt afgeleid, kunt u
de controle over het toestel verliezen.
Elektrische veiligheid
De stekker of de voedingskabel mogen in geen geval worden veranderd. Gebruik geen adapters in
combinatie met geaarde elektrische toestellen.
Voorkom aanraking van het lichaam met geaarde oppervlakken (bv. buizen, verwarmingen, fornuizen en
koelkasten). Er bestaat een verhoogd risico op elektrische schokken wanneer uw lichaam geaard is.
Houd het toestel uit de buurt van regen en vocht. Het binnensijpelen van water in het toestel verhoogt het
risico op elektrische schokken.

Bij gebruik buitenshuis, gebruik dan een verlengkabel die geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis.
Als het gebruik van het toestel in een vochtige omgeving onvermijdelijk is, sluit het toestel aan op een
aardlekschakelaar.
Persoonlijke veiligheid
Wees alert, let goed op wat u doet en ga verstandig te werk. Gebruik het toestel niet als u moe bent of
onder invloed van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen.
Voorkom per ongeluk inschakelen. Controleer of het toestel uitgeschakeld is voordat u de stekker in het
stopcontact steekt en/of de batterijen plaatst, het toestel oppakt of draagt. Draag het toestel niet met de
vinger op de aan/uit-schakelaar. Sluit het toestel niet aan wanneer de schakelaar op "ON" staat.
Verwijder alle sleutels voordat u het toestel inschakelt. Een sleutel die zich in een draaiend deel van het
toestel bevindt, kan tot verwondingen leiden.
Zorg voor een veilige houding. Zorg dat u uw evenwicht niet verliest.
Draag gepaste kleding. Draag geen wijde kleren of sieraden. Houd uw haar, kleren en handschoenen buiten
het bereik van bewegende delen.
Als er stofzuig- en stofopvanginrichtingen kunnen worden gemonteerd, zorg ervoor dat deze aangesloten
zijn en correct worden gebruikt.
Gebruik de meegeleverde hulphandgrepen. Houd het toestel vast aan het geïsoleerde oppervlak van de
handgrepen wanneer u werkt op plaatsen waar het snijgereedschap met verborgen bedrading of zijn eigen
snoer in aanraking kan komen.
Stof dat tijdens het schuren, zagen, slijpen, boren of andere constructieactiviteiten vrijkomt, kan chemische
bestanddelen bevatten die kanker, geboortedefecten of andere voortplantingsschade kunnen veroorzaken.
Om blootstelling aan chemische bestanddelen te verminderen moeten de werkzaamheden uitgevoerd
worden in een goed geventileerde ruimte en gebruikmakend van goedgekeurde beschermende kledij.
Het toestel
Overbelast het toestel niet. Gebruik het toestel enkel voor de toepassingen waarvoor het ontworpen werd.
Gebruik het toestel niet waarvan de aan/uit-schakelaar defect is. Een toestel dat niet meer kan worden in-
of uitgeschakeld, is gevaarlijk en moet worden hersteld.
Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact voor u toestel instelt, toebehoren vervangt of het toestel opbergt.
Houd het toestel buiten het bereik van kinderen wanneer niet in gebruik. Personen die niet met het toestel
vertrouwd zijn of die deze gebruiksaanwijzingen niet hebben gelezen, mogen het toestel niet gebruiken.
Onderhoud het toestel. Controleer op verkeerd uitgelijnde of vastgelopen bewegende onderdelen, breuk of
andere defecten die de werking van het toestel zouden kunnen beïnvloeden. Laat beschadigde onderdelen
herstellen voor gebruik.
Houd snijgereedschap scherp en proper.
Gebruik het toestel, toebehoren en messen in overeenstemming met deze instructies. Let daarbij op de
werkomstandigheden en de uit te voeren werkzaamheden.
3. Algemene richtlijnen
Raadpleeg de Velleman® service- en kwaliteitsgarantie achteraan deze handleiding.
Bescherm tegen schokken. Vermijd brute kracht tijdens de bediening van het toestel.
Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u het gaat gebruiken.
Om veiligheidsredenen mag u geen wijzigingen aanbrengen aan het toestel. Schade door wijzigingen die de
gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het toestel valt niet onder de garantie.
Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. Andere toepassingen kunnen leiden tot kortsluitingen,
brandwonden, elektrische schokken, enz. Bij onoordeelkundig gebruik vervalt de garantie.
De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde richtlijnen in deze handleiding en uw dealer
zal de verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor defecten of problemen die hier rechtstreeks verband mee houden.
Schakel het toestel niet onmiddellijk in nadat het werd blootgesteld aan temperatuurschommelingen. Om
beschadiging te vermijden, moet u wachten tot het toestel de kamertemperatuur heeft bereikt.
Bewaar deze handleiding voor verdere raadpleging.

6. Montage
WAARSCHUWING
Het toestel moet volledig gemonteerd zijn voor gebruik.
Gebruik het toestel niet indien het slechts gedeeltelijk gemonteerd of gemonteerd is
met beschadigde onderdelen.
Volg de montagevoorschriften stap voor stap en gebruik de afbeeldingen als
hulpmiddel.
Sluit het toestel niet aan op het stopcontact voordat het volledig gemonteerd is.
6.1 Schacht
1. Lijn de schachtuiteinden uit en schuif de onderste schacht in de bovenste schacht.
2. Bevestig de onderdelen met de bout.
6.2 Voorste handgreep
1. Monteer de bovenste handgreep op de bovenste schacht.
2. Bevestig de onderdelen met de bout.
6.3 Beschermkap
1. Plaats de beschermkap op de trimkop.
2. Bevestig de onderdelen met de schroeven.

6.4 Aansluiting op de netspanning
1. Zorg ervoor dat de aan/uit-schakelaar op OFF staat.
2. Maak een lus in de voedingskabel op ongeveer 30 cm van het uiteinde en voer de lus door de opening in de
beschermkap.
3. Haal de lus over de kabelhouder en trek voorzichtig aan de kabel om te controleren of de kabel stevig
bevestigd is.
4. Sluit de voedingskabel aan op een geschikt stopcontact.
7. Gebruik
Zorg ervoor dat het toestel aangesloten is op het lichtnet. Druk de aan/uit-schakelaar in om het toestel in te
schakelen. Laat de aan/uit-schakelaar los om het toestel uit te schakelen.
De draad verlengen
Tijdens het gebruik wordt de draad korter door
slijtage. Controleer de draad regelmatig en stel af
indien nodig. De spoel is voorzien van een stootkop
voor draadtoevoer tijdens het gebruik. Om de lengte
van de draad af te stellen, tik de stootkop [11d]
tegen de grond en de draad wordt automatisch
doorgevoerd. Overtollige draad wordt door het mes
afgeknipt en mag niet verder reiken dan de
beschermkap.
Het draaddoorvoersysteem werkt alleen wanneer het
toestel ingeschakeld is.
WAARSCHUWING
Overtollige draad wordt weggeslingerd. Verwondingsgevaar, met name voor
omstanders.
Trimmen
Houd het toestel stevig vast met een afstand tussen het toestel en uw rechterkant. Sta rechtop, leun niet
voorover en let op uw houding. Sta met uw voeten uit elkaar om het evenwicht te behouden.
Houd de trimkop vlak boven de grond in een hoek van ongeveer 30°. Beweeg het toestel langzaam in een boog van
links naar rechts, voordat u het toestel terug naar de startpositie brengt en de volgende zone begint te trimmen.

Zorg ervoor dat het snijgereedschap vrij van vuil en maairesten is waardoor het kan vastlopen. Controleer
regelmatig. Laat de aan/uit-schakelaar los en ontkoppel het toestel voor het controleren.
Voor de beste resultaten, maai lang gras niet in één keer en trim in stappen.
Tips
Voor de beste resultaten, maai geen nat gras. Nat
gras blijft aan de trimkop en beschermkap plakken,
waardoor de uitworp van grasresten wordt
belemmerd en u kunt uitglijden en vallen.
Wees extra voorzichtig bij het maaien in de buurt
van bomen en struiken. De trimkop kan het tere
schors van bomen en struiken en de paaltjes van
omheiningen beschadigen.
De draad verslijt vlugger en moet vaker aangevoerd
worden wanneer u gras trimt langs trottoirs of
andere schurende oppervlakken, of wanneer u zwaar
onkruid maait.
Na gebruik
Schakel het toestel uit na gebruik, trek de stekker uit het stopcontact en laat het afkoelen. Controleer, reinig en
bewaar het toestel zoals beschreven hierboven.
8. Reiniging en onderhoud
Zorg ervoor dat de ventilatieopeningen altijd vrij zijn.
Als het toestel niet correct functioneert, schakel het onmiddellijk uit en trek de stekker uit. Controleer het
toestel voor u het opnieuw gebruikt. Laat het toestel herstellen door een vakman.
Indien de voedingskabel beschadigd is, laat deze dan door een vakman vervangen.
Reinig het toestel af en toe met een vochtige doek. Gebruik geen bijtende chemische producten,
reinigingsmiddelen of sterke detergenten.
Reinig het toestel en de toebehoren voor u het opbergt.
Opslag
Bewaar het toestel, de toebehoren en deze handleiding in de oorspronkelijke verpakking.
Bewaar het toestel steeds in een koele en droge ruimte.
Transport
Houd het toestel steeds bij de handgrepen vast.
Bescherm het toestel tegen zware schokken en sterke trillingen die tijdens het transport kunnen ontstaan.
Bevestig het toestel zodat het niet kan omvallen of kantelen.

Spoel
Raadpleeg de afbeeldingen op pagina 2 van deze handleiding.
Vervang de spoel wanneer deze leeg of versleten is.
1. Zorg ervoor dat de aan/uit-schakelaar op OFF staat.
2. Draai het toestel om. Houd de trimkop stevig vast met één hand. Draai het deksel in tegenwijzerzin om de
behuizing te ontgrendelen.
3. Verwijder het deksel en de spoel. Verwijder alle draad op de spoel.
4. Reinig de behuizing voordat u een nieuwe spoel plaatst van hetzelfde type. Voer de draad door de
openingen in het deksel.
5. Plaats het deksel terug op de behuizing en draai deze in wijzerzin om het te bevestigen. Zorg ervoor dat het
deksel correct is bevestigd voordat u het loslaat.

MODE D'EMPLOI
1. Introduction

Informations environnementales importantes concernant ce produit
Ce symbole sur l'appareil ou l'emballage indique que l’élimination d’un appareil en fin de vie peut
polluer l'environnement. Ne pas jeter un appareil électrique ou électronique (et des piles éventuelles)
parmi les déchets municipaux non sujets au tri sélectif ; une déchetterie traitera l’appareil en question.
Renvoyer l'appareil à votre fournisseur ou à un service de recyclage local. Il convient de respecter la
réglementation locale relative à la protection de l’environnement.
En cas de questions, contacter les autorités locales pour élimination.
Nous vous remercions de votre achat. Lire attentivement le présent mode d'emploi avant la mise en service de
l’appareil. Si l'appareil a été endommagé pendant le transport, ne pas l’installer et consulter votre revendeur.
2. Consignes de sécurité
Garder l'appareil hors de la portée des enfants et des personnes non autorisées.
Cet appareil ne convient pas aux personnes (y compris enfants) qui possèdent des capacités
physiques, sensorielles ou mentales réduites, ou manquent d’expérience et de connaissances, sauf si
elles ont reçu une supervision ou des instructions concernant l’utilisation de l’appareil de la part d’une
personne responsable de leur sécurité.
Surveiller les enfants pour s’assurer qu’ils ne jouent pas avec l’appareil.
Il n’y a aucune pièce réparable par l’utilisateur dans l'appareil. Commander des pièces de rechange
éventuelles chez votre revendeur.
Toujours déconnecter l'appareil lorsque l'appareil n'est pas utilisé ou avant de le nettoyer. Tirer sur la
fiche pour débrancher l'appareil ; non pas sur le câble.
Le câble d’alimentation ne peut pas être replissé ou endommagé. Un câble d'alimentation endommagé doit
être remplacé par le fabricant, un technicien ou une autre personne qualifiée pour éviter tout danger.
Ne pas utiliser l'appareil si le boîtier ou le câblage sont endommagés. Ne pas essayer de réparer
l'appareil soi-même, contacter votre revendeur.
Classe II : cet appareil est pourvu d'une double isolation.
Toujours porter une protection oculaire et auditive, des gants et un masque antipoussière
lors de l'utilisation.
Zone de travail
Maintenir l’endroit de travail propre et bien éclairé. Un lieu de travail en désordre ou mal éclairé augmente
le risque d'accidents.
Ne pas utiliser l'appareil dans un environnement présentant des risques d'explosion et où se trouvent des
liquides, des gaz ou poussières inflammables.
Tenir les enfants et autres personnes éloignés durant l’utilisation de l'appareil. Toute distraction peut vous
faire perdre le contrôle de l'appareil.
Sécurité électrique
Ne jamais modifier la fiche ou le câble d'alimentation. Ne pas utiliser d'adaptateurs avec des appareils mis à
la terre.
Eviter tout contact corporel avec des surfaces reliées à la masse (p. ex. tuyauterie, radiateurs, cuisinières et
réfrigérateurs). Le risque de décharge augmente si votre corps rentre en contact avec une mise à la terre.
Ne jamais exposer l'appareil à la pluie ou à des conditions humides. Une infiltration d'eau dans l'appareil
augmente le risque de décharge.

Lors d'un usage à l'extérieur, utiliser une rallonge adaptée à une utilisation en extérieur.
S’il est impossible d'éviter l'utilisation de l'appareil dans un endroit humide, brancher l'appareil sur une
prise dotée d'un disjoncteur (GFCI).
Sécurité personnelle
Rester éveillé, toujours vérifier vos actions et utiliser votre bon sens. Ne pas utiliser l'appareil en cas de
fatigue, sous l'emprise d'alcool, de drogues ou de médicaments.
Eviter tout démarrage involontaire. S'assurer de mettre l'interrupteur on/off en position OFF avant de
brancher l'appareil et/ou d'insérer les piles, de le ramasser ou transporter. Ne pas transporter l'appareil
avec le doigt sur l'interrupteur on/off. Ne pas brancher l'appareil avec l'interrupteur en position ON.
Retirer toute clé de réglage avant d'allumer l'appareil. Une clé laissée au contact d'un élément en rotation
de l'outil peut entraîner des blessures corporelles.
Adopter une position confortable. Garder une bonne prise au sol et votre équilibre à tout moment.
S'habiller correctement. Ne pas porter des de vêtements lâches ou de bijoux. Garder vos cheveux,
vêtements et gants éloignés des pièces en mouvement.
Si des dispositifs pour la connexion d'appareils d'extraction et de ramassage de la poussière sont fournis,
s'assurer qu'ils sont connectés et correctement utilisés.
Utiliser la poignée auxiliaire fournie avec l'appareil. Tenir l'appareil par les surfaces de préhension isolées, lors
de l'utilisation où l’outil tranchant pourrait entrer en contact avec des fils cachés ou avec son propre câble.
La poussière dégagée lors du ponçage, sciage, meulage, perçage de certains matériaux et lors d’autres
opérations de construction contient des produits chimiques reconnus causer le cancer, des malformations
congénitales ou autres problèmes reproductifs. Pour réduire l'exposition aux produits chimiques nocifs,
travailler dans un endroit bien aéré et utiliser des équipements de sécurité approuvés.
L'appareil
Ne pas forcer l'appareil. Utiliser l'appareil correct pour votre application.
Ne pas utiliser l'appareil si l'interrupteur ne le met pas en marche ou ne l'arrête pas. Tout appareil qui ne
peut pas être contrôlé par son interrupteur est dangereux et doit être réparé.
Débrancher la fiche avant d'effectuer tout ajustement, de changer d'accessoire ou de ranger l'appareil.
Ranger un appareil inutilisé hors de la portée des enfants. Ne jamais laisser des personnes sans expérience
ou qui n'ont pas lu ces instructions utiliser l'appareil.
Entretenir l'appareil. Contrôler si les parties mobiles fonctionnent correctement et ne coincent pas, si des
pièces sont cassées ou endommagées, ainsi que le bon fonctionnement de l'appareil. Faire réparer les
pièces endommagées avant d'utiliser l'appareil.
Toujours conserver les outils de coupe tranchants et propres.
Utiliser l'appareil, les accessoires et les lames conformément à ces instructions. Tenir compte des conditions
de travail et de la tâche à exécuter.
3. Directives générales
Se référer à la garantie de service et de qualité Velleman® en fin de ce mode d'emploi.
Protéger l’appareil des chocs et de l'abus. Traiter l'appareil avec circonspection pendant l’opération.
Se familiariser avec le fonctionnement de l'appareil avant de l'utiliser.
Toute modification est interdite pour des raisons de sécurité. Les dommages occasionnés par des
modifications par le client ne tombent pas sous la garantie.
N’utiliser l'appareil qu’à sa fonction prévue. Tout autre usage peut causer des courts-circuits, des brûlures,
des électrochocs, etc. Un usage impropre annule d'office la garantie.
La garantie ne se s’applique pas aux dommages survenus en négligeant certaines directives de ce mode
d'emploi et votre revendeur déclinera toute responsabilité pour les problèmes et les défauts qui en résultent.
Ne pas brancher immédiatement l’appareil après exposition à des variations de température. Afin d’éviter
des dommages, attendre jusqu’à ce que l’appareil ait atteint la température ambiante.
Garder ce mode d'emploi pour toute référence ultérieure.

6. Montage
AVERTISSEMENT
L'appareil doit être complètement assemblé avant l’utilisation.
Ne pas utiliser un appareil qui n'est que partiellement assemblé ou assemblé avec
des pièces endommagées.
Suivre les consignes de montage étape par étape et utiliser les illustrations fournies
comme guide pour assembler l'appareil.
Ne pas brancher l'appareil avant qu'il ne soit complètement assemblé.
6.1 Manche
1. Aligner les extrémités des manches et insérer le manche inférieur dans le manche supérieur.
2. Fixer les pièces avec le boulon.
6.2 Poignée avant
1. Aligner et monter la poignée avant sur le manche supérieur.
2. Sécuriser avec le boulon.
6.3 Couvercle de protection
1. Aligner et monter le couvercle de protection sur la tête de coupe.
2. Fixer les pièces avec les vis.

6.4 Connexion à l'alimentation électrique
1. S'assurer que l'interrupteur on/off est en position OFF.
2. Faire une boucle d’environ 30 cm avec l’extrémité de la rallonge électrique et insérer cette boucle dans
l’ouverture de la barre de protection.
3. Placer la boucle par-dessus le porte-câble et tirer délicatement sur le câble pour s'assurer que le câble est
fixé fermement.
4. Brancher le câble d’alimentation sur une prise électrique appropriée.
7. Emploi
S'assurer que l'appareil est connecté au réseau électrique. Appuyer sur l'interrupteur on/off pour allumer
l'appareil. Relâcher l'interrupteur on/off pour éteindre l'appareil.
Allonger le fil
Pendant l’utilisation, l’extrémité du fil raccourcit à
cause de son usure. Contrôler régulièrement l’état du
fil et régler le si nécessaire. La bobine est équipée
d’un percuteur qui aide à couper le fil pendant
l’utilisation. Taper le percuteur [11d] sur un sol rigide
pour que la bobine libère une longueur
supplémentaire de fil. La longueur du fil en excès est
coupée par la lame pour qu’il ne dépasse jamais du
rayon du couvercle de protection.
Le système d’alimentation du fil ne fonctionne que
lorsque l’appareil est allumé.
AVERTISSEMENT
Le fil est projeté vers l’extérieur. Il y a un risque de blessure, notamment pour les
autres personnes présentes !
Couper avec le fil
Tenir fermement l’appareil en le décalant à gauche par rapport à votre côté droit. Se tenir droit, ne pas se
pencher en avant et être attentif à sa posture. Maintenir les deux pieds écartés afin d’avoir un meilleur équilibre
et de le conserver.
Positionner la tête de coupe juste au-dessus du sol à un angle de 30° environ. Déplacer l'appareil en décrivant
un arc lent et régulier de gauche à droite avant de le ramener dans la position de départ pour ensuite couper la
zone suivante.

Veiller à ce que l’accessoire de coupe reste propre et exempt de morceaux d’herbe coupée qui pourraient le
bloquer. Inspecter le régulièrement. Relâcher l’interrupteur on/off et débrancher l’appareil avant de l’inspecter.
Pour des résultats optimaux, ne pas couper les herbes hautes en plusieurs passages et couper graduellement.
Conseils
Pour des résultats optimaux, ne pas couper l’herbe
mouillée, car elle a tendance à coller à la tête de
coupe et au couvercle de protection en empêchant
l’évacuation normale des morceaux d’herbe, ce qui
peut vous faire glisser ou tomber.
Faire particulièrement attention en travaillant près
d’arbres et de buissons. La tête de coupe peut
endommager les écorces tendres et les poteaux des
barrières.
Le fil s’use plus vite et doit être rallongé plus souvent
quand vous coupez des herbes le long des
pavements ou d’autres surfaces abrasives et quand
vous coupez des herbes épaisses.
Après utilisation
Eteindre et débrancher l'appareil après utilisation et laisser le refroidir. Inspecter, nettoyer et ranger l'appareil
comme décrit ci-après.
8. Nettoyage et entretien
Ne jamais obstruer les orifices de ventilation.
En cas de dysfonctionnement, éteindre l'appareil et débrancher immédiatement le câble d'alimentation.
Inspecter l'appareil avant de le réutiliser. Toute réparation doit être effectuée par un technicien qualifié.
Un câble d'alimentation endommagé doit être remplacé par un technicien qualifié.
Nettoyer occasionnellement l'appareil avec un chiffon humide. Ne pas utiliser d'agents chimiques agressifs,
de solvants ni de détergents puissants.
Nettoyer l'appareil et les accessoires avant de les ranger.
Rangement
Ranger l'appareil, ses accessoires et ce mode d'emploi dans l'emballage d'origine.
Toujours ranger l'appareil dans un endroit frais et sec.
Transport
Toujours porter l'appareil par ses poignées.
Protéger l’appareil contre tout impact violent ou vibration forte pouvant se produire pendant son transport
dans un véhicule.
Attacher l'appareil pour l’empêcher de glisser ou de tomber.

Bobine
Se référer aux illustrations en page 2 de ce mode d'emploi.
Remplacer la bobine lorsqu'elle est vide ou usée.
1. S'assurer que l'interrupteur on/off est en position OFF.
2. Retourner l'appareil pour accéder au fil. Immobiliser la tête de coupe d’une main. Tourner le couvercle dans
le sens antihoraire pour désengager les ergots du boîtier.
3. Enlever le couvercle avec la bobine. Jeter tout le fil de la bobine.
4. Nettoyer le boîtier avant d’insérer une bobine neuve du même type. Insérer les extrémités du fil dans les
œillets du couvercle.
5. Réinsérer le couvercle sur le boîtier et tourner le dans le sens horaire pour le fixer. Vérifier que le couvercle
est correctement assemblé avant de le relâcher.
