Functional description / Operating instructions four-channel radio-telecontrol with D+
Relay
Type EL 155
The four-channel radio-telecontrol system consists of 1 hand transmitter and 1 receiving
module. With two of the four control buttons in the hand transmitter two independent relays in
the receiving module can be switched.
Both channels are provided for connection of an external selective switch. Consequently, both
electric circuits can also be switched on or off without telecontrol by the connected selective
switches. If a voltage of 12 V is set to the D+ signal, the external channel-light will be switched
off by an additional relay.
The two other channels can be used for raising or extending the electric stairs by motor. If a
voltage of 12 V is set at the Signal D+’’ the stairs will be raised automatically while the vehicle
is in motion. The motor is triggered until this singnal will be interrupted by an looped-in limit
stop switch. If an additional key button is connected, the motor can also be controlled
manually.
The distribution voltage (to be connected to the receiving module) is used for supply of the
receiving and logic electronics as well as of the connected consumers. For electric supply of
the receiving and logic electronics as well as the relay control also a rectified, non-flattened
voltage with an arithmetical average of 12 V DC can be used - besides battery voltage. This
kind of power supply is also suitable for incandescent lamps. If equipment or lighting fittings
will be connected that require flattened and regulated power supply, a corresponding voltage
is to be set at the connections + 12 V and GND.
Attention!
Please observe the correct polarity of the connected voltage. A wrong power supply
may damage the receiving module.
Switching on and off of the corresponding channel is done by repeated operating of the key
button in the hand transmitter. After setting the distribution voltage at the receiving module it
may be necessary to press the key in the hand transmitter two times in order to change the
switching state of the connected consumer (depending on the last switching state that has
been selected).
Attention!
Please press the key button of the hand transmitter only as long until the relay has
been switched. Any longer pressing may reduce the service life of the battery in the hand
transmitter.
Data communication from hand transmitter to receiving module is effected by radio-
engineering based on a carrier frequency on the 433 MHz band. All information will be coded
before transmission. Codification of the transmitting signal will change after each
transmission according to a patented system (Rolling Code).
Successful data transmission is only possible with a transmitter to which the respective
receiving module has been „trained for“. Up to 15 hand transmitter can be „trained“ at one
receiving module. Training of one ore more hand transmitter is done according to the following
scheme:
Set voltage at the receiving module.
Press the key in the receiving module (please also see the sketch) for 1 second by inserting a
nonconducting object in the bore at the casing cover..
Attention! Please do not use objects made of conducting material because this would
cause short circuits in the electronics when pressing the key.
Now please press key 1 (see sketch) of the hand transmitter to be trained for about 1 second.
Please press key 1 (see sketch) of each further hand transmitter to be trained Now please
wait for about 30 seconds.
After this period of time all hand transmitters are trained. The channels 1 and 2 are now ready
for radio-remote-control.
If the key in the receiving module is pressed for more than 35 seconds, all hand transmitters
trained before will be set to „off trained“ and deleted for this receiving module.
Replacement of hand transmitter battery
If the LED integrated in the hand transmitter lights up only weakly when pressing a key or if
you realize a clearly reduced transmitting power, it is necessary to replace the battery
integrated in the hand transmitter.
After releasing the screw at the back of the hand transmitter the top and the bottom part of the
transmitter can be separated from each other. Now the empty battery can be removed and
replaced by a new one. .
Please always pay attention to the polarity when inserting a new battery!
When re-assembling the top and the bottom part of the hand transmitter please verify that the
printed circuit board is in the right position towards the bottom part and that the operation
elements of the top part do not drop out of the fixing devices.

General notice 433 MHz radio-engineering
The 433 MHz radio-engineering enables wireless radio data transmission on short and
medium distances. The frequency of 433 MHz in Germany is – as well as in several other
European countries – a generally released frequency, i. e. everybody can use allowed devices
within this frequency band. For operation no separate registration of each single device or
amateur radio licence certificates are necessary.
Due to the legal regulations the transmitting power and band width are very small.
Sometimes transmission problems may arise caused by:

Position of transmitter and receiving module
Transmitter is activated by metal frames or similar objects.
Objects between transmitter and receiver consist of ferroconcrete, metal plates or metal
interlacing.
A high degree of air humidity can also restrict the working range.
The windows of the vehicle between transmitter and receiver are vaporized or covered by
aluminium foil.
Interferences
There are other 433 MHz-products within the environs
Electric sources of interference are in the immediate vicinity of the transmitter or receiver (for
example microwave ovens, TV, computer or other domestic appliances)
