1. Place thespringsintothebracketson themower
withthehookedendsovertheraised back ofthe
bracket(Fig. 1).
2. Align thedischarge chutewiththeholesinthe
bracketsand thespring straightendsinthespace
underthehinge and abovethe chute(Fig. 1).
3. Securethe chutetothebracketwith bolts
through thedischarge chute,springsand
brackets.Securewithlock nuts(Fig. 1).
4. Lift thedischarge chute and checkthat it is
spring loadedand pivotsfreelytothefull down
position.
IMPORTANT:Thedischarge chutemustbe
springloadedinthedown position.Lift the
chuteup totest thatitsnapstothefull down
position.

POTENTIALHAZARD
·Without thedischarge chuteorthe
completegrass catcher assemblymounted
in place, youand othersare exposedto
blade contactand thrown debris.
WHATCAN HAPPEN
·Contactwithrotatingmower blade(s)and
thrown debriswill causeinjury ordeath.
HOWTOAVOIDTHEHAZARD
·NEVERremovethedischarge chutefrom
themower becausethedischarge chute
routesmaterialdowntowardtheturf.If
thedischarge chuteisever damaged,
replace itimmediately. Never putyour
handsorfeetunder themower.
·Never trytoclearthedischargearea or
mower bladesunless youmovethepower
takeoff (PTO) to “OFF” and turnthe
ignition keyto “STOP.” Alsoremovethe
ignition key and pull thewire(s)off the
spark plug(s).

suretoinstall thebelt on thelowermowerdeck
pulley.

levelconcretesurface.Rougherdirtorlawnsurfaces
makeinstallation moredifficult.
1. Position thetractorand mowersideby side,with
themoweron theright--hand sideofthetractor.
2. Set theparking brake,raisethe attachment lift,
stop the engine,and removetheignition key.
3. If you havepreviously hadasnowthrower, blade
ortillerattachedtothe attachment lift,remove
thetwoclevispinson eachsideofthe
attachment lift(Fig. 3).

2. Ensurethat the attachment lift isinthefull up
position.
3. From thedriver’sright--hand sideofthetractor,
slidethemowerunderthetractor.
4. Aftersliding themowerunderthetractor,
position it sothat theslotsinthesideofeach of
themower’smounting brackets(Fig. 5)are
aligned directly belowthetractor’sattachment
liftarm.

6. Lowerthe attachment liftarmfullyand adjust
thedeck’sposition until you can pull outon the
J--pin oftheliftarmand slideit intotheslot in
themounting bracketofthemower (Fig. 6).
7. Onthedriver’sleft--hand side, pull out the
attachment liftJ--pinand slideit intothesloton
theothermowermounting bracket.

4. Removethetractor’sgrill by pulling it straight

Therearsupportwheelsare adjustedin differenthole
locationsfor1 1/2—4 1/2”(4--11 cm)heights--of--cut.
1. Start thetractor,applytheparking brake,and
raisethedeck. Getoff thetractor.
2. Pull theheight--of--cut leverout to disengageit
from thequadrant.Adjust theheightofcut to
thedesiredlevel.Releasetheleverinwardto
lockintothequadrant(Fig. 14).
