Thismachineisdesignedtosplitwoodlogscuttoa
sizetotwithinthemachinesplittingwedgeopening.
Itcanoperateinthehorizontalorverticalposition.It
isnotintendedtosplitrock,metal,oranymaterials
otherthanwood.Thelogsplittercanbetowedbehind
avehicleequippedwithanappropriateballhitch.

(gasohol)or15%MTBE(methyltertiarybutyl
ether)byvolumeisacceptable.Ethanoland
MTBEarenotthesame.Gasolinewith15%
ethanol(E15)byvolumeisnotapprovedforuse.
Neverusegasolinethatcontainsmorethan
10%ethanolbyvolume,suchasE15(contains
15%ethanol),E20(contains20%ethanol),orE85
(containsupto85%ethanol).Usingunapproved
gasolinemaycauseperformanceproblemsand/or
enginedamagewhichmaynotbecoveredunder
warranty.
•Donotusegasolinecontainingmethanol.

•Alwaysoperatethemachinefromtheoperator
zonespeciedinSplittingaLog(page11).Keep
theoperator’sareaandadjacentareasclearfor
safe,securefooting.
•Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfrommovingparts.
Keepclearofthesplittingwedgeatalltimes.
•Ifahelperisassistinginloadinglogs,never
activatethecontrolsuntilthehelperisatleast3m
(10ft)awayfromthemachine.
•Stopthemachineandinspectthesplittingwedge
afterstrikinganobjectorifthereisanabnormal
vibrationinthemachine.Makeallnecessary
repairsbeforeresumingoperation.

SplittingSafety
•Placeyourhandsonthesidesofthelog,notonthe
ends.Neverplaceyourhandsoranypartofyour
bodybetweenalogandanypartofthemachine.
•Donotstraddleorreachacrossthelog-splitting
areawhenoperatingthemachine.
•Useyouronlyhandtopushthecontrollever
forward(towardthelog).Ifthelogmovesbefore
thesplittingwedgecontactsit,donottouchthe
splittingwedgewhileinmotion.Releasethe
controllever,thenpositionthelog.
•Operatethemachineonlyfromtheoperating
positionbythecontrollever.
•Only1adultshouldstabilizethelogandoperate
thecontrolhandletoensurefullcontroloverthe
logandsplittingwedge.
•Neverattempttosplitmorethan1logatatime.
•Keeptheworkareaclean;removesplitlogsfrom
aroundthemachinesothatyoudonotslipon
them.
•Logsshouldbecutwithendsassquareas
possiblepriortosplitting.Forlogsthatarenotcut
square,theleast-squareendandlongestportion
ofthelogshouldbeplacedtowardthesplitting
wedgeandthesquareendplacedtowardtheend
plate.

•Properlyattachthesafetychainstothetowing
vehicle.
•Ensurethatthedirectionalandbrakelightsare
