Managed L2+ fiber Switch (AC +DC)
Quick Installation Guide

Overview
The TR S2928F-C is the managed L2+ fiber switch which supports up to 16*100/1000M SFP
slots, 8*1G Combo SFP/RJ45 ports and 4*1G/2.5G/10GBase-X SFP+ ports. It is 19’’
rack-mounted and it supports AC and DC redundant power supply.

You need to prepare :
Category 5e or better cable for RJ-45 ports
Appropriate fiber cables for fiber ports
Appropriate SFP cable and modules for SFP ports
Personal computer with a USB interface
➢Installation tools: No installation tools are provided with the switch. Prepare the tools
yourself, such as flat-head screwdriver, ESD wrist strap, cable crimping tool and so on
1. Installing the switch
1.1 Use the enclosed screws and mounting ears to mount the switch in an open or enclosed
19’’ rack.
(1) Please make sure the 19’’rack on good grounding.
(2) Fixing the mounting ears on the both side of the switch

(3) Place the switch on a bracket of the rack and move the switch along the guide rails of
the rack to a proper position.
(4) Use screws to install the switch on the rack.

1.2 Connect your network devices to the RJ45 switch ports with network cables.
1.3 Insert selected SFP modules into the SFP ports. Connect fiber cables to the SFP module
fiber ports.
1.4 For better unit’s protection against surge, connect the ground cable to the ground screw
located on back of the unit.
1.5 Connect your power supply to AC and DC interface if the switch need to be powered
from two power sources

1.6 Power up your power supply(-ies) to power up the unit
1.7 If all cables are correctly connected, the indicators will lit as per LEDs status:

2. Accessing the switch for the first time
2.1 Logging the switch through console port.
You can connect the switch to a configuration terminal by using the serial console port.
In Figure -4, the switch is connected to a configuration terminal (PC as an example) from the
serial console port.

2.2 Logging the switch through web-based.
(1) Connect the switch with your PC with network cable
(2) Make your PC IP address on the 192.168.1. X/24
(3) Open the browser and enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar
(4) Enter the default username: admin, default password: admin
Now You can configure and manage the switch through web-based interface, more details
please refer to the Web-based user manual.
2.3 USB configuration through CLI.
The USB port can be used to save the running switch configuration to a (FAT32) USB storage
device. You can refer to the USB configuration user manual for USB installation, removing,
configuration copy and upgrading.
