Introduction
Thank you very much for purchasing the Transcend 4-Port Hub. This device is
fully compliant with the USB 2.0 specifications and backward compatible with the
USB 1.1 standard. With increased 480 Mbps bandwidth, Transcend 4-Port Hub
allows you to connect peripheral devices which consume a great deal of
bandwidth, such as digital cameras/camcorders, scanners, printers,
DVD/CD-RW drives, and other external storage devices to your desktop or
notebook PC. Now, this easy-to-use, Plug and Play, portable, and impressive
hub will give you a brand new user experience.

System Requirements
Desktop or notebook computer with USB port and one of following operating
systems:
• Windows®98/98SE, Windows® Me, Windows® 2000, or Windows® XP
• Mac™ OS 8.6 or later
Installation
Hardware Setup
1. Power on the computer where you will connect the 4-Port Hub and make
sure a USB port is available, enabled, and working properly.
2. Connect the Power Adapter cord to the power jack on the side of 4-Port
Hub. Then, plug Power Adapter cord into the adapter socket.
*Note: Please use the Power Adapter enclosed in the package. Use
of the wrong type of Power Adapter can result in serious
damage to the 4-Port Hub.
3. Plug the Series A (rectangular) plug of the USB cable into the USB port of
your computer.
*Note: If a cascading configuration is used, plug the Series A plug
into a downstream port of another 4-Port Hub.
4. Plug the Series mini-B (square) plug of the USB cable into the Series
mini-B port of the 4-Port Hub.
5. The 4-Port Hub is now ready for use. Just plug the Series A plug of your
USB device (USB Card Reader, USB Flash Drive, USB Printer, etc…) into
a Series A downstream port of the 4-Port Hub, the new connected device
will be automatically detected.
*Note: Above instructions provide general installation information,
which should be used in conjunction with the Owner’s
Manuals for your USB devices and computer system.

Safe Disconnection
If there are devices connected to the 4-Port Hub, make sure that all of the
attached devices are not in working before disconnecting the 4-Port Hub from
your computer. If there are no devices connected to the 4-Port Hub, then it can
be immediately and safely disconnected from your computer and the Power
Adapter.
*Note: Data loss or unpredictable damage may occur to your devices
connected to the 4-Port Hub if the above rule is not followed.

All Transcend Information, Inc. (Transcend) products are warranted and tested
to be free from defects in material and workmanship and to conform to the
published specifications. Should your Transcend 4-Port Hub malfunction during
normal use in its recommended environment due to improper workmanship or
materials within the warranty period, Transcend will repair or replace your
product with a comparable product. This warranty is subject to the conditions
and limitations set forth herein.
Duration of Warranty: Transcend 4-Port Hubs are covered by this warranty for
a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase. Transcend will inspect the
product and make the determination as to whether the product is eligible for
repair or replacement. The decision by Transcend regarding eligibility of the
product for repair or replacement will be final and binding. Transcend reserves
the right to provide a functionally equivalent refurbished replacement product.
Limitations: This warranty does not apply to products that fail due to accident,
abuse, mishandling, improper installation, alteration, acts of nature, improper
usage, or problems with electrical power. Transcend 4-Port Hubs must be used
with devices that conform to the recommended industry standards. Transcend
will not be liable for damages resulting from a third party device that causes the
Transcend product to fail. Transcend shall in no event be liable for any
consequential, indirect, or incidental damages, lost profits, lost business
investments, lost goodwill, or interference with business relationships as a result
of lost data. Transcend is also not responsible for damage or failure of any third
party equipment, even if Transcend has been advised of the possibility. This
limitation does not apply to the extent that it is illegal or unenforceable under
applicable law.
