Installation Pre-Requirements
Before proceeding VortexIP installation in your server you have to make sure you have installed:
Operating System Windows XP Professional
•IIS 5.1
(IIS 5.1 must be installed before Microsoft .Net Framework v1.1
If that is not the case you have to uninstall Microsoft .Net Framework v1.1 and install it
afterwards.
•Microsoft .Net Framework v1.1
•Microsoft .Net Framework v1.1 SP1
Operating System Windows 2003 Server / Web Edition
•Microsoft .Net Framework v1.1
•Microsoft .Net Framework v1.1 SP1
•IIS 6.0
*The system must have a Local Disk ‘C’.

Internet Information Services (IIS) Installation
Verifying you have installed Internet Information Services IIS
This is an optional package and it comes with Windows CD. To verify if you have it already
installed go to: Start ->Control Panel-> Add or Remove Programs.
Then press Add or Remove Windows Components
And the following screen will pop up.

Afterwards go to the item, Services of Internet Information Server (IIS)
The press Detail.

Make sure you have to check the components as show on the screen.
And press to accept searching on the CD installation components selected.
Make sure you are doing on the road indicated "d: /" or another route if it had more than one
reader cds.
Once completed the process press Finish

Verifying IIS is working properly
Go to Start-> Control Panel-> Administrative Tools
Then, double click on Services of Internet Information Server
On the Status Bar must say: Active.
If you have already installed Windows 2003 Web Edition / Server, make sure you have the license
to execute ASP.NET v1.1.

To verify this, go to ISS Administrator to the section Services Extensions

Framework .Net v1.1 Installation
Verifying that .Net Framework is already installed
Go to Start->Control Panel-> Administrative Tools.
If .Net Framework is already installed, the following icons will be shown:
If you do not have these icons, proceed with the installation.
.Net Framework Installation
Get into the install CD and look for the installer.Net framework or download it from Microsoft’s Web
page.

Press on any of the links to proceed with the installation, and the following dialog box will appear:
Press, Run.
Press Yes.
Select Accept and then press Install.

Once the installation process is finished, press Accept.
There is No need to Restart your PC’s Operating System.
Then, close Internet Explorer and authenticate yourself again to your VortexIP.
Verifying Framework .Net v1.1 SP1 Installation
Access the Control Panel, and then go to Add or Remove Programs

Verify you have installed the following package:
If you do not have the package installed, you can manually install it looking for the software in the
VortexIP CD.
You may also download and install carefully the updates related to .Net Framework v1.1 by using
Windows Update.

VortexIP Installation
IT IS IMPORTANT DO NO EXECUTE EITHER THE INSTALLER OR
THE PROGRAM IF THE USB KEY IS NOT INSTALLED.
Once you have pass the pre-requirements, insert the CD or execute
Access the CD installation and within the CD to folder VortexIP 2.4.3b
Access to the folder VIP2.3.4b
For Windows XP Professional:
VortexIP_Setup_WinXP_V2.exe
or
For Windows 2003 Server:
VortexIP_Setup_Win2k3_V2.exe
And the following screen will pop up:
If during the installation program detected any conflict, would be a warning like the following
Software Installation Alert
At that time it was stopped the installation, in order to adjust the parameters of the system.

Select VortexIP components that you wish to install in your server and press Next.
Once the installation is complete, the program will change the script.
Press Yes.
Then press Yes

Press Yes
Once the installation is completed proceed to restart your Computer.
Remember that the USB drive has to be always connected to the server
where VortexIP is running.

Uninstall
To remove VortexIP installation, go to Control Panel-> Add or Remove Programs:
Then, look for VortexIP components as shown on the screen:
And press Remove on every single VortexIP component.
