The lightning flash with arrowhead
symbol, within an equilateral triangle,
is intended to alert the user to the
presence of un-insulated “dangerous
voltage” within the product’s
enclosure that may be of sufficient
magnitude to constitute a risk of
electric shock to persons.
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to
comply with the limits for a Class B digital device,
pursuant to CE regulations. These limits are designed to
provide reasonable protection against harmful interference
when the equipment is operated in a commercial
environment. The equipment generates, uses, and can
radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and
used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause
harmful interference to radio communications.
Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to
cause harmful interference in which case the user will be
required to correct the interference at his own expense.

bottom of the unit.
You should note the serial number of this unit in the space
provided and retain this instruction as a permanent record
of your purchase to aid identification in the event of repair.

MAIN FEATURES
The TFD-S36FI12IR is a 1/3" Sony HAD CCD
camera, with 3-axis design for easy installation.
The camera features a picture quality of 380 TVL with
fixed iris lens, and build-in IR LEDs for night
application.
PRECAUTIONS
1. This product should be installed and serviced by
qualified service personnel or system installers.
2. Use a class 2 regulated power source supplying
12 V DC only.
3. To prevent fire or electric shock hazard, use a UL
listed cable to connect the power supply to the
camera.
4. Be sure the ceiling or wall having enough
strength to hold this camera.
5. Do not attempt to disassemble the camera.
To prevent electric shock, do not remove screws
or covers. There are no user-serviceable parts
inside.
6. Handle the camera with care. Do not abuse the
camera. Avoid striking, shaking, etc. The camera
could be damaged by improper handling or
storage.
7. Do not use strong or abrasive detergents.
Use a dry cloth to clean the camera body when
dirty. In case the dirt is hard to remove, use a
mild detergent and wipe gently. Afterwards, wipe
off the remaining detergent with a dry cloth.
8. Clean the lens faceplate with care.
Do not clean the lens with strong or abrasive
detergents. Use lens tissue or a cotton tipped
applicator and ethanol.
9. Never face the camera towards the sun.
Do not aim the camera at bright objects. Whether
the camera is in use or not, never aim it at the sun
or other extremely bright objects. Otherwise,
blooming or smear may be caused.
Do not operate the camera beyond its specifications.
Use the camera under conditions where temperature
is between –10ºC to +50ºC (14ºF to 122ºF), and
humidity is between 20% to 85% (NC). The input
power source is 12 VDC only.

Unpack the box, make sure the following items are
included and in good condition (Fig. 1).

IDENTIFYING COMPONENTS FOR CAMERA UNIT
The camera unit should be disassembled when it is
installing. The names for every component are (Fig. 2):
-CAM Base (F)
-Camera (G)
-CAM Rotating Housing (H)
-CAM Tighten Ring (I)

WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1Use CMP (B) as template to drill 5 mounting
holes on the wall. Cut a Ø35 mm to Ø38 mm
(Ø1.375" to Ø1.5") hole for the BNC connector
to pass through (Fig. 3).
2Insert 5 Anchors into the mounting holes. Use
Self-tapping Screws to mount the CMP (B) on
the wall (Fig. 4A).
3Remove the CAM Base (F) from Camera Unit
(A) (Fig. 2).
4Find the tab with triangular mark (arrow 4b) on
the back of the CAM Base (F). Align the
triangular mark (arrow 4b) with the hollow
arrow on the CMP (B) and push 3 tabs into the
slots (Fig. 4C)
5Turn the CAM Base (F) in clockwise direction
until it is stopped.
6Insert and fasten the Flat-head screw (E) into
the hole with the triangular mark on the front of
the CAM Base (F) to secure the Base to CMP
(Fig. 5).
7Re-assembly the Camera Unit (A).
Now, the installation is completed.

DROP CEILING INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Take off the drop ceiling from T-bar.
2. Use CMP (B) as template to drill 5 holes on the
drop ceiling and cut a Ø35 mm to Ø38 mm
(Ø1.375" to Ø1.5") hole for BNC connector to
pass through (Fig. 6).
3. From the local hardware store, purchase 5 sets
of M4 machine screw, M4 nut, and washer to
secure the CMP (B) to the drop ceiling.
4. Follow step 3 to step 7 in Wall Mount

PAN/TILT/AZIMUTH ADJUSTMENT
Note: To watch the image adjustment, you may
connect the camera video output to a checking monitor.
However, the video output will be interrupted if this
check monitor does not have a loop through output.
Tatung’s 2.5” LCD Service Monitor TLM-0251i is an
ideal tool to be used to observe the image adjustment
while keeping the video signal continuity. Because
TLM-0251i not only has both BNC input and BNC
loop through output, but also has 75Ωautomatic
termination.
1. Connect a monitor as a checking monitor to the
BNC video output.
2. Aim the camera towards the object by adjusting
the pan, tilt and azimuth angle of the camera.
The camera can be rotated as shown in Fig 7.

3. Disconnect the checking monitor and restore
the video connection of the camera video
output.

CONNECTIONS
Video Output Connection:
Connect the video output connector to the DVR,
monitor, or other system equipment with the coaxial
cable.
The recommended maximum cable length is shown
below:
800 ft (250 m) when using RG-59U or
1600 ft (500 m) when using RG-6U
Power Connection:
Connect the power source to the 2-wire pigtail or
connector from the camera with jacked power cable.
The recommended cable length for 12 VDC are:
