Overview
Thank you for purchasing the TrolMaster’s WD-2 Water Detector.

Awater detectoris anelectronicdevicethat is specially designed
to detect the presence of water and provide an alert in time to
allow the prevention ofwater leak in the Hydro-X Control
System.
The default function of Water Detector (WD-2) is for leak
detection and there is a triangle symbol shown in the LCD
display of the Hydro-X Controller. When the WD-2 detects water
leak, it will send an alarm message to your Smartphone one
minute later. You can also check the alarm message in the Hydro-X
Controller.
Two or more Water Detectors (up to 8pcs for each system) can
be linked together in a “daisy chain,” expanding the leak detection
monitoring area.

16ft RJ12 Cable
Mount the water detector near the water reservoir or nutrient
tank. Use a screw to mount the Water Detector on the wall or
fix it through the top hole with a string.

Operation Instructions
1. Connection to Hydro-X Controller
2. Address Assignment
Connect the RJ12 cable (left) to the SENSORS terminal
on the bottom panel of the Hydro-X Controller. The touch
spot cable (right) can be used to connect the single touch
spot (accessory of WD-2). You can also use a RJ12
T-splitter to connect one more Water Detector (WD-2)
as shown below.
Water Detectors
Press the Addressing button on the WD-2 unit so that
the Hydro-X Controller will assign an address to the
WD-2 unit accordingly. The LCD screen of the WD-2
Water Detector will show a triangle symbol indicating
that the water leak detection is the default function.

When the Water Detector (WD-2) is sucessfully
connected to the Hydro-X and the touch spot is
placed into water, the Hydro-X Controller will send
an alarm message to your Smartphone if the water
leak is detected. You can also check the alarm
messages in the Alarm Message page of the Hydro-X.

NOTES:
The number inside the triangle symbol refers to the
connection sequence (from 1 to 8) of water detectors.
The first assigned Water Detector (WD-2) will be
marked as number 1, the second one will marked as
number 2, and so on.
It’s suggested to connect one touch spot under one
Water Detector (WD-2).
