Using Your PowerPods
PowerPods are a safer alternative to using normal 1.5V batteries. A
traditional ‘C’ or ‘D’ type cell can generate very large currents if accidentally
shorted. This can cause large amounts of heat to be generated posing a
potential risk to children. PowerPods automatically limit the output current
to a safe value, in the event of the circuit being shorted. The PowerPods turn
on automatically whenever a 4mm plug is connected into the PowerPod
negative terminal. The power remaining is clearly displayed and an overload
indicator lights to show when a misconnection or short circuit has occurred.
When the PowerPods require charging, simply place them back into the
docking station so that they are always fully charged and ready for use.
When charging the PowerPods, the red battery life indicator LED is on. When
the battery life indicator LED turns green the PowerPods are fully charged.
PowerPods can be used in exactly the same way as traditional 1.5V cells.
They can be connected in series and parallel and can power the lamps,
motors, LEDs and buzzers commonly found in primary electricity kits.
PowerPods are a perfect companion to the TTS Electricity Kit (SC00551)

International Charger
The Docking Station is supplied with
a multi-region adaptor. The adaptor is
supplied with the UK plug fitted but
you can change this easily to suit any
country. Press the release button and
slide the UK plug out and replace with
the required plug module. Slide the
plug module in until it “clicks” in place
securely.
The safety isolating transformer to be
used with the Docking Station should
be regularly examined for potential
hazards such as damage to the cable,
cord, plug, enclosure or other parts. In
the event of any damage, the Docking
Station must not be used until the
damage has been properly repaired.
nThe Docking Station is not intended for children under 3 years old.
nThe transformer is not a toy.
nThe Docking Station must only be used with the recommended
transformer.
