OPERATION
Insert/replace batteries
Insert the batteries, observing correct polarity. Use alkaline batteries only, both batteries must
be of the same brand with the same charge level. Charge level is shown on display. Replace
batteries when you see symbol on the display.
Switch on/off
To switch on the product press button DIST. The product will switch on and enter measuring
mode.
To switch off the product press and hold button C.
In order to save battery power the product will switch off automatically within 3 minutes after
the last operation.
Reference point
It is possible to set the reference point - from the top or bottom end of the product.
The default reference point is the bottom end of the product.
To choose reference point press button consistently. Indicator will appear on
the display.
Switch on/off sound signal
Press and hold button during 2 seconds to switch on/off sound signal.

MEASUREMENT
Single distance measurement
Switch on the product. Short press button DIST to switch on laser beam, point it at the target
and press button DIST again for single distance measurement.
Continuous distance measurement (Tracking)
Press and hold button DIST. The product will take measurements one after another, showing
the last measured value. Besides it will show maximal and minimal measured values. To stop
measuring press button DIST.
To exit the mode press button C.
CALCULATIONS
The last measurement can be cancelled by button Cand made again in modes of area and
volume calculation as well as measurement of distance by using inclination angle sensor and
Pythagoras Theorem. If you double press button C in any of the above mentioned modes, the
product will enter single distance measuring mode.
Area
Press button . Symbol will appear on the display. Make 2 measurements one by one
(length and width). Area (composition of length and width) will be calculated and appear in the
main line on the display.

Wall area
By double pressing button choose wall area calculation mode. Symbol will appear on
display. The height of walls, which area is to be calculated, should be the same. Make the first
measurement (height of walls). Make the second measurement (length of 1st wall). Make the
third measurement (length of 2nd wall). Calculated result will appear in the main line of the
display. Total area (calculation of length and width) of walls, which length has already been
measured, will appear in the main line of the display.
Volume
Press button 3 times. Symbol will appear on the display. Make 3 measurements
one by one (length, width, height). Volume (composition of length, width and height) will be
calculated and appear in the main line on the display.

Calculation of distance by using inclination angle sensor and Pythagoras Theorem
If it is impossible to make direct measurement (there is some obstruction) required length can
be calculated with the help of inclination angle sensor, 2 or 3 additional measurements.
Calculation of distance by using inclination angle sensor (Figure 1)
Short press button . Symbol and value of
inclination angle will appear on the display.
Make measurement of distance А. Length of distance А
will appear in the top line. Value of angle αbetween
distance Аand Вwill appear in the middle line. Length of
distance B will be calculated and appear in the main line
on the display. Distance Вis horizontal.
Calculation of distance by using 2 additional measurements
(Figure 2)
Double press button . Symbol will appear on the display.
Make measurements of distance Аand В. Press button DIST to
calculate length of distance С. Distance Вmust be perpendicular
to distance Сand cannot be longer than distance А.
Calculation of distance by using 3 additional measurements (Figure 3,4)
Distance D can be measured by making 3 additional measurements.
Press button DIST 3 or 4 times to choose calculation mode. Symbol or will appear on
the display. Make measurements of distances А, Вand Сone by one. After the last made
measurement calculation result (distance D) will appear in the main line on the display.

Addition/Subtraction
Addition/Subtraction function is used for addition and subtraction of lengths.
Make a single distance measurement, activate Addition/Subtraction mode by short pressing
button , then make the second single distance measurement. Calculation result will appear
in the main line on the display. The next measurements will also be added/subtracted to/from
the next measuring result.
