ThePowerSeriesNeoAlarmSystemsupportsavarietyofwireless,hardwiredandproximity
sensorLCD,LEDandIconkeypads.AllkeypadscomeequippedwiththeLEDstatuslights
describedinsection1"QuickReference".HS2LCDserieskeypadsdisplaysystemmessageson
theirLCDscreen.HS2ICNserieskeypadsdisplaymessages,asdescribedinthefollowingsection.

YourPowerSeriesNeohasbeendesignedtoprovideyouwiththegreatestpossibleflexibilityand
convenience.Readthismanualcarefullyandhaveyourinstallerinstructyouonhowtooperateyour
systemandwhichfeatureshavebeenimplementedinyoursystem.Allusersofthissystemshould
beequallyinstructedinitsuse.Filloutsection"SystemInformation"withallofyourzoneinform-
ationandaccesscodesandstorethismanualinasafeplaceforfuturereference.
Note: ThePowerSeriesNeosecuritysystemincludesspecificfalsealarmreductionfeaturesandis
classifiedinaccordancewithANSI/SIACP-01-2010ControlPanelStandard-FeaturesforFalse
AlarmReduction.Pleaseconsultyourinstallerforfurtherinformationregardingthefalsealarm
reductionfeaturesbuiltintoyoursystemasallarenotcoveredinthismanual.
3.1 General System Operation
YoursecuritysystemismadeupofaPowerSeriesNeocontrolpanel,oneormorekeypadsandvari-
oussensorsanddetectors.Thecontrolpanelwillbemountedoutofthewayinautilityclosetorin
abasement.Themetalcabinetcontainsthesystemelectronics,fusesandstandbybattery.
Allthekeypadshaveanaudibleindicatorandcommandentrykeys.LEDkeypadshaveagroupof
zoneandsystemstatuslights.LCDkeypadshaveanalphanumericliquidcrystaldisplay(LCD).
Thekeypadisusedtosendcommandstothesystemandtodisplaythecurrentsystemstatus.The
keypad(s)willbemountedinaconvenientlocationinsidetheprotectedpremisesclosetothe
entry/exitdoor(s).Thesecuritysystemhasseveralzonesofareaprotectionandeachofthesezones
isconnectedtooneormoresensors(motiondetectors,glassbreakdetectors,doorcontacts,etc.).A
sensorinalarmisindicatedbythecorrespondingzonelightsflashingonanLEDkeypadorbymes-
sagesontheLCDkeypad.
Note: Onlytheinstallerorserviceprofessionalshallhaveaccesstothecontrolpanel.
3.2 Testing Your System
TestsallsystemkeypadLEDs,keypadsounders,bellsand/orsirens.Toensurethatyoursystemcon-
tinuestofunctionasintended,youmusttestyoursystemweekly.
IMPORTANT: ForULHOMEHEALTHCARElistedapplicationsthesystemshallalsobe
testedweeklywithoutACpower.ToremoveACfromthecontrolunit,removethescrewfromthe
restrainingtabofthepluginadapterandremovetheadapterfromACoutlet.Aftercompletingthe
testoftheunitusingonlythebatterybackupsource,reconnectthepluginadapterandattachthe
screwthroughtherestrainingtabsothattheadapterissecurelyattachedtotheoutlet.
IMPORTANT: Shouldyoursystemfailtofunctionproperly,contactyourinstallationcompany.
IMPORTANT: Allsmokedetectorsmustbetestedbyyoursmokedetectorinstalleronceperyear.
To Perform a Keypad and Siren Test LCD Display
1. FromtheReadystatepress[*][6]andenterthe[MasterCode]
toaccessUserFunctions.

Thissystemiscapableoftransmittingalarms,troublesandemergencyinformation.Ifyouinitiate
analarmbymistake,immediatelycallthecentralstationtopreventanunnecessaryresponse.
Note: ForCP-01systems,themonitoringfunctionmustbeenabledbytheinstallerbeforeit
becomesfunctional.Thereisacommunicatordelayof30secondsinthiscontrolpanel.Itcanbe
removed,oritcanbeincreasedupto45seconds,attheoptionoftheend-userbyconsultingwith
theinstaller.
3.4 Maintenance
Withnormaluse,thesystemrequiresminimummaintenance.Notethefollowingpoints:
lDonotwashthesecurityequipmentwithawetcloth.Lightdustingwithaslightly
moistenedclothshouldremovenormalaccumulationsofdust.
lUsethesystemtestdescribedin“TestingYourSystem”tocheckthebatterycondition.
Werecommend,however,thatthestandbybatteriesbereplacedevery3-5years.
lForothersystemdevicessuchassmokedetectors,passiveinfrared,ultrasonicor
microwavemotiondetectorsorglassbreakdetectors,consultthemanufacturer’sliterature
fortestingandmaintenanceinstructions.

ThePowerSeriesNeosystemcanbeset/armedusingakeypad,a2-waywirelesskeyoraproximity
tag.
4.1 Arming the System (Infinite Exit Delay)
Inanattempttoreducefalsealarms,yoursystemisdesignedtonotifyyouofanimproperexitwhen
armingthesystem.WhenusingthePushtoSet,orFinalDoorSetfeature,attemptingtoarmyour
systemwillstartaninfiniteexitdelay.Thekeypadwillsoundabeeponcepersecond.Whenyou
haveopenedandclosedthefinalexitdoor,orafterpressingthePushtoSetbutton,theexitdelay
willbereducedtoaprogrammablevalue,whichistypically10seconds,afterwhichthealarmwill
completethesetting.Thepanelusedthistimeperiodtoallowtimeforthedetectorsonthesystem
toreturntotheirnormalstate.Whenthistimeexpires,thesystemchecksfordetect-
ors/windows/doorsthatmaybeopen.Ifanyoftheseareopen,thepanelwillcancelthearming.If
thisoccurs,youmustre-enterthepremises,checkthesystem,closeanyopenzones,andthen
attempttoarmagain.
4.2 Away Arming the System with the Keypad

Thecontrolpanelprovidesanoptionwhere,ifaentry/exitzoneistrippedasecondtimepriortothe
endoftheexitdelay,theexitdelaytimerestarts.Theexitdelaytimercanonlyberestartedonce.
4.4 Alarm Cancel Window
Thecontrolpanelprovidesaperiodoftimeinwhichtheusercancancelthealarmtransmission.If
theprogrammedalarmtransmissiondelayhasexpired,cancelinganalarmsendsamessagetothe
monitoringstation.Uponasuccessfultransmissionofthecancellationmessagethekeypadwillbeep
6times.

4.6 Disarming/Unsetting the System
Dependingonyoursystemconfiguration,therearemultiplemethodsyoucanusetodisarm/unset
yoursystem.Youcandisarmthesystemusinga2-waywirelesskeyoraproximitytag:
Todisarmthesystemwithakeypad:
1. Enteryour[accesscode]orpresentyourproximitytaganytimethesystemisarmed.
(Armed indicatorison).
2. Ifyouwalkthroughtheentrydoor,thekeypadwillbeep.Disarmwithin_____secondsto
avoidanalarmcondition.

1. Presentyourproximitytagtoakeypadequippedwithaproximitysensoranytimethesystem
isarmed.(Armed indicatorison)andifconfiguredasrequired,enteryouraccesscode.
2. Ifyouwalkthroughtheentrydoorthekeypadwillbeep.Presentyourproximitytagwithin
_____secondstoavoidanalarmcondition.
Note: DurationofEntrytimerisprogrammedbyinstaller.Theinstallerwilladvisethemaximum
durationofentrydelaythatwasprogrammedinthesystem.Itcannotexceed45seconds.
4.8 Disarming Error
Ifyourcodeisinvalid,thesystemwillnotdisarmanda2-seconderrortonewillsound.Ifthis
occurs,press[#]andre-enteryouraccesscode.
