Sirius Illuminator Range
INTRODUCTION
Thank you or purchasing this UFO Illuminator.
Please read these instructions ully be ore connecting your unit to the
electrical supply, and keep them or uture re erence.
The UFO Sirius range o illuminators are suitable or use with either glass or
PMMA iber-optic harnesses.
The Sirius is powered by a 100-240 VAC remote desktop power supply unit.
IMPORTANT
THIS PRODUCT MUST BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
APPLICABLE INSTALLATION CODE BY A PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE
CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF THE PRODUCT AND THE HAZARDS

POWER SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS
The LED Illuminator is powered rom a multi unction, multi-voltage, desk top
Power Supply Unit. Remove the 24V Desk Top PSU rom its box. This PSU is an
IEC input device catering or UK, European and USA mains supplies using the
relevant power cord.
The SIRIUS LED illuminator must be powered by the supplied 24V 3.75A Desk
Top LPS/Class 2 power supply.
GENERAL
The SIRIUS is a 90W White Light LED Illuminator with optional decorative
wheel capability. The SIRIUS LED Illuminator driver PCB has all the control
unctionality itted as standard. The ollowing control unctionality is
available (see ollowing image)
1. Manual dimming
2. Manual Decorative Wheel control (various wheel speeds and stop/start)
3. DMX dimming
4. DMX Decorative Wheel control
5. 0-10V Decorative Wheel control – channel 1 (receiving)
6. 0-10V dimming – channel 2 (receiving)

CONNECTION – MANUAL OPERATION
There are 2 connections required – the iber port and the mains supply cable.
The iber port should be connected irst. Connect and secure the iber optic
connector into the green collar and secure using the M5 locking screw.
Connect the IEC power cord into the Desk Top PSU and plug the mains plug
into the electrical supply socket. Switch on power the led Indicator will
illuminate and the illuminator is ready or use. I no light is produced consult
the TROUBLESHOOTING section.
NOTE: THESE ILLUMINATORS ARE NOT MAINS DIMMABLE
DIP Switch 10 ON (down) or

10 OFF (up) or DMX operation
MANUAL OPERATION - WHITE LIGHT DIMMING
For normal manual operation DIP switch 10 must be ON.
During normal manual white light operation the illuminator can be dimmed
rom 0 to 100% using the Manual Dimming Control on the side panel.

MANUAL OPERATION - DECORATIVE WHEEL CONTROL
For normal manual operation DIP switch 10 must be ON.
During normal manual decorative operation the illuminator can be dimmed
rom 0 to 100% using the Manual Dimming Control and the motor can be
controlled rom stop to 5 speeds (slow to ast) using the push button Manual
Motor Control on the side panel. The approximate wheel speeds are detailed
below.
WHEEL SPEEDS
1 - Stop
2 - 0.5 rpm
3 -1 rpm
4 - 2 rpm
5 - 4 rpm
6 - 6 rpm
To select the correct speed press the push button repeatedly until the wheel
stops rotating, then:
Press once or 0.5 rpm
Press twice or 1 rpm
Press three times or 2 rpm
Press our times or 4 rpm
Press ive times or 6 rpm

CONNECTION – 0-10V OPERATION
There are 3 connections required – the iber port, the mains supply cable and
the 0-10V cable. The iber port should be connected irst. Connect and secure
the iber optic connector into the aluminium collar and secure using the M5
locking screw.
Connect the IEC power cord into the Desk Top PSU and plug the mains plug
into the electrical supply socket. Switch on power the led indicator will
illuminate and the illuminator is ready or use. In no light is produced consult
the TROUBLESHOOTING section.
Connect the 0-10V RJ45 as detailed below using CAT5 cable
0-10V RJ45 Connections:
-VE RJ45 Brown/White (Pin 7)
+VE RJ45 Blue/White (Pin 5)

0-10V OPERATION - WHITE LIGHT DIMMING
For 0-10v dimming operation DIP switch 10 must be ON, the Manual Dimming
Control on the side panel must be turned to minimum ( ully counter
clockwise), and the RJ45 plug must be plugged into the right hand RJ45
socket on the side panel.
The illuminator can be dimmed rom 0 (0 Volts DC) to 100% (10V DC) with a
receiving 0-10V signal.
0-10V OPERATION - DECORATIVE WHEEL CONTROL
For 0-10v wheel control DIP switch 10 must be ON, and the RJ45 plug must be
plugged into the le hand RJ45 socket on the side panel.
The illuminator decorative wheel can be controlled with a receiving 0-10V
signal as detailed in the ollowing 0-10V value table.

CONNECTION – DMX OPERATION
There are 3 connections required – the iber port, the mains supply cable and
the 0-10V cable. The iber port should be connected irst. Connect and secure
the iber optic connector into the aluminium collar and secure using the M5
locking screw.
Connect the IEC power cord into the Desk Top PSU and plug the mains plug
into the electrical supply socket. Switch on power the led indicator will
illuminate and the illuminator is ready or use. In no light is produced consult
the TROUBLESHOOTING section.
Connect the 3 pin XLR sockets on the side panel as detailed below using an
approved DMX cable.
NOTE:
It is recommended that a 120ohm terminating resistor be connected across
DMX+ and DMX- on the last illuminator in the DMX universe or cable run

accessible on the side panel as shown below.

DMX OPERATION - WHITE LIGHT DIMMING
For DMX dimming operation DIP switch 10 must be OFF and the XLR plug(s)
must be plugged into the XLR sockets on the side panel.
The illuminator can be dimmed on DMX channel 1 as shown in the DMX table
overlea .
DMX OPERATION - DECORATIVE WHEEL CONTROL
For DMX wheel control DIP switch 10 must be OFF and the XLR plug(s) must
be plugged into the XLR sockets on the side panel
The illuminator decorative wheel can be controlled on DMX channel 2 as
shown in the DMX table overlea .

DMX OPERATION - LED/FAN CONTROL
For DMX LED and an control, switch 10 must be OFF and the XLR plug(s) must
be plugged into the XLR sockets on the side panel
The illuminator LED and Fan can be controlled on DMX channel 3 as shown in
the ollowing DMX table.

Two variations are available. Firstly an un-segmented wheel designed to
rotate continuously in one direction only. Secondly a segmented wheel that
with correct DMX controller programming can rotate clock wise and counter
clockwise in sequence with an open segment being the ull light de ault
position.
