Using the supplied metal ring as a template, trace the inside and outside diameters in the
desired installation location.
1.) Cut a 2 ½" hole through the stage 5 ¼" from desired center point.
2.) Cut a 10 ½" hole through the stage from center point. (The inner diameter of the template.)
3.) Using a router set at 5/16" deep remove the material between the 10 1/2” hole and the 13”
marking made using template. (The outer diameter of the template.)
4.) Set the floor pocket into the opening, paying attention to the direction of the fog diverter if used
(See later in this manual).
5.) Place the metal ring onto the floor pocket aligning the mounting holes.
6.) Screw the ring and floor pocket to the floor using the supplied screws.
7.) Hook up power using the grey PowerCon Connector from the floor pocket and connecting to a
controllable source.
DMX control can be obtained by using a DMX relay control like the CLF 2944 DMX Interface (110
Volt) or CLF-2943 LSG DMX Interface (220Volt).
8.) Hook up the compressed air hose from the floor pocket to a suitable supply of compressed gas.
30 TO 100 PSI
More on compressed gas sources later in this manual.

1) Energize the controllable power source to open / lift the Floor Pocket top plate.
2) De-energize the controllable power source to close / lower the Floor Pocket top plate.
NOTE: The rate of speed for opening and closing the floor pocket can be adjusted using the 2 flow
valve adjustment screws located on the non -rotating cylinder.

The Directional Diverter may be removed if 360 degree output
from the floor pocket is desired.
This is done by removing the 2 nuts under the floor pocket lid that
hold the diverter in place. Ideally this should be done before
installation.

Adjustment

If your floor pocket is not raising or lowering;
Check air pressure: Is air getting to the solenoid valve?
Check that the air line is connected to a suitable air source at the required pressure.
Speed control valve: Are the speed control valves allowing air to pass through?
Try adjusting the speed control valve, for the direction that the unit is not responding to.
Power to solenoid: Is power getting to the solenoid?
Check that unit is connected to a suitable power source and that power is present when trying to raise
Floor Pocket and removed when trying to lower the Floor Pocket lid.
Freezing: Use dry air as moisture can freeze and impair valve or cylinder action.
Bent cylinder shaft: Stepping on lid can bend cylinder shaft.
Check that cylinder shaft is not bent. Replace the cylinder if it is bent.
One complete cycle (in & out)of the piston would use 4.2 cubic inches of volume at the
recommended pressure of 30-100 psi. The compressed gas does not have to be air, you
can use nitrogen or CO2 gas. CO2 is liquid in the tank so you can get a large volume from
a small tank and regulator. A pressure regulator to drop the pressure is required. The
number of cycles would depend on the volume of your tank. We offer a regulator and hose
accessory to facilitate this. (see below).
CXP-1968 CO2 Regulator with 5 foot hose & High flow quick disconnect.
This unit is used to supply regulated CO2 gas to run an assortment of peripheral devices
that require a source of compressed gas. It may be used to run a floor pocket on an
ECLIPSE system. Shown here on a 5 pound CO2 tank, (tank is not included.)
